    Lettuce is a plant. Plants are alive and have cells that multiply rapidly, hence being able to grow. Plants make food via photosynthesis. I don't know how to break it down for you much further. Just because something doesn't have a brain doesn't mean it's not alive. Do your research please

  13. Animals are attributed to 2 goals. Their brains are complex things developed through Natural selection to allow the creature to Survive a long time and Reproduce a lot. The brain enables survival. That is what it is for.
    You are an Atheist I assume.
    plants, through natural selection also have mechanisms that strive to make them survive. Trees for example have chemicals in their bodies that are activated when water and sun are felt. That is how a tree knows to grow its leaves tiwards the sun, and its roots towards moisture underground.
    To say that one fight for life is more deserving than another is gravely offensive.

    "Ask god" lol yeah, okay. Never mix religion with science.

    Humans weren't "born" to be anything. They were originally gatherers of fruits and nuts because they didn't understand yet how to capture prey. Then this magical thing called "Darwin's theory of evolution" kicked in and made humans what they are today.
