  7. She put the DVD in my DVD-player, bending over even though there is no need. No matter how much I want her to be this way with me, I can't let it get in the way. I can't let her slow me down.

"Hey, Sheila, ummm...why are you bending over?" I blurted out.

"Better view." She said pointing to the DVD player, but I knew that wasn't it...

She turned on my TV, and beckoned me over to the couch as she sat down. She was patting the couch as if I was her dog. I just stood there shaking my head.

    "What's wrong?" She asked.

    "I-I can't do this." I said stuttering a bit.

    "Do what?"

"This!" I said, waving my hands around to emphasize the situation.

"You're so involved in work Max, you have no time for fun. Give it...a chance." She convinced me to sit down, and I relaxed a bit.

"Fine, but only as a friendly gesture." I said firmly.

"If you want." After all the times I've wanted her say that, now I was cringing at the thought.

After about two hours of watching a movie I couldn't pay attention to. It could have been full of nudity and highly attractive women bearing that nudity...and I would not have noticed. So, I sat there with my head in my hands.

"Hey Max, do you want pizza?" She said gesturing me the box.

    "No." I said coldly.

"Oh, me either. So, how about you show me your room?" She asked innocently.

"Actually, I think you should go home." I said dismissively, walking to the door.

"I had fun." She said as she got off the couch. "We should hang out more."

By now she was out the door. I studied her for a minute, and finally spoke.

"I'm your employee, you're my boss. We can't, it's weird." I said in pure honesty.

"You let things get in the way too much, Max."

What did she mean by that?

Tell me, what hidden message is in that context do you think? :)

  11. I stood there, my feet set in stone, I was taken aback. I felt as if that one statement shattered this whole realm I call reality. Yet it brought me back to it somehow.

"You're right. I'm sorry. Hey, listen, call me sometime. We can hang out." I said totally letting myself relax, and letting out all my reluctance.

"Thank you, Max! That makes me so happy!" She said excitedly.

"Hey, one more thing!" I said grabbing her attention before she walked away.

    "Yes?" She said stepping back.

"Your sister told me about this weird guy, with an insignia on his forehead. I was wondering if you might know something about him?" I asked, seeing her eyes go cold.

"Yes, he lives 186 Colossus Street. He's pretty weird, if you investigate, be careful." She said, pointing to the bulge of my gun that I forgot was on my belt.

"Will do. I'll see you later." I said waving her off.

I decided to grab my coat, and head over there. I didn't have a warrant, but I'm tired of following rules. His house was falling apart. The sides with chipped, and the wood was rotting. The windows were cracked, and some broken. His door was even rotted.

I went and knocked on the door. Nothing. I was about to leave and come back another time when I heard a scream. It sounded like a woman, screaming as loud as she could.

"Open the door now!" I yelled as I knocked on the door.

I got no reply, so I swiftly kicked the door open, and it literally flew from the door hinges. I stepped in and pulled my gun out. Walking up the stairs in the front of the house, and they creaked with each step.

I came to a room, and I saw a girl tied up in a chair, with duct-tape covering her mouth. I could it was freshly put on her mouth, the scissors were still sitting there on the rotting, wood floor.

Before I could react, I was slammed against the wall by a bald man in a a wife-beater. He had clenched teeth and was trying to choke me. I held his hands trying to gather up any thought I could muster, since my gun was knocked out of my hand.

I swiftly kicked him where it hurts, and tackled him to the ground. We went into a full out brawl, slamming each other against walls, and throwing punches. Finally I landed one good punch into the man's nose.

He fell to the ground unconscious, and I picked up my gun that fell to the ground. Putting it in my holster, I snapped the holster shut. I went over to the plain, wooden chair, holding the young-looking girl. She had long brown hair, and a thin frame, she was quite pretty, but much younger than me.

I pulled off the duct tape, as she tried to shake free from the chair. I then untied her hands, and before I could react she jumped up and hugged me.

"We should get out of here..." I said pushing her away softly.

"Th-thank you!" She said pulling me in for another hug.

We stood there for five minutes. Me embracing her, as she cried her tears of relief on my jacket. Muttering her words of gratitude, as I rubbed her back assuring her she was safe. I saved a life.

  15. An insignia is something a cult or group uses as a sign for their group. Such as a cross is an insignia of God.
