Rick's point of view: "M-missing?" I stammered. "According to the bodyguards, right after you left, they heard crashes from mother's room. Obviously, they rushed straight to her room. The moment they arrived in Mother's room, she was already gone, and suddenly, something hard fell upon their heads, causing them all to black-out." Adam hastily recalled. "M-mom's gone?" I stammered. I can't believe that this is happening. "Don't think like that! We'll definitely find her." Adam spat out. "What do I do? I should have not left Mom at home. I'm really stupid!" I wailed. "Stop crying over spilled milk," Adam angrily scolded, "What you can do now is to come over here as soon as you can." "I'll be there." I assured him and went straight to the principal's office to ask for permission to leave the school grounds. "What happened here?!" I gasped as soon as I reached my home. The house was worse than yesterday. Everything was a mess. I couldn't even identify which one is the kitchen. "Oh no." Blood was all over the floor in Mom's room. "Rick!" Adam called out to me. "We have to find mom." I announced, stating the obvious. "That's right." Adam agreed, "I already hired some guards to accompany us to our old home." Old home? The place where I was beaten up everyday? The place where mom gets struck by father everynight? The place where numerous painful memories occurred? Ugh. I do not want to go back there. "It's okay. I'm here." Adam assured me and patted my shaking back. I smiled at Adam. He really is a good brother. The travel to my old home was intense. Neither the two guards nor Adam uttered a word. It was obvious that we were all nervous. I mean, 7 guards blacked-out in one blow, and we were going to meet the man who caused all of these mess. "We're here." the guard loudly whispered as he turned off the engine. My heart thumped loudly. I swore I heard Adam's too. The guards walked ahead of us. They tried the lock first before shouting... "Mr. Anderson! OPEN THE DOOR. We have a SEARCH WARRANT!" The door remained shut for a few minutes. Angered, the two policemen KICKED the door opened. "Nobody move!" the policeman called out, but no one was there. We started investigating room to room but no one was found. "Figures. He would have fled with mom." Adam grumbled as he kicked the vase on the floor. "But this is our only lead." I spat out negatively. "I'm so sorry, sirs. We're going to try our best to look for your mom." one guard assured us. Adam and I sighed and turned to the exit. Suddenly... From the basement... An ear-splitting scream echoed.

Adam's point of view: "MOM!" Rick and I shouted at the same time. I moved as swift as I could, but Rick was so much faster. He beat me to the hidden staircase that leads to the basement. The two policemen followed us with their guns and flashlights prepared. I can hear one of them hyperventilating. As soon as we were in front of the basement glass door which was obviously locked, the two policemen blocked our way and kicked their way in. Shattered glass scattered in front of us. "That must hurt." Rick gasped. We proceeded in running towards the interior of the basement but Rick stopped for a moment. "C'mon, Rick!" I loudly whispered, but Rick remained unmoved. He was obviously scared. Groaning, I left him and joined the two policemen in their chase. "Nobody move!" the policemen screamed at the same time. My heart broke into pieces as I saw the scene of the crime. There was mom, bound and bleeding. She had bruises all over her body, and her tear-stricken face was filled with fear. Beside her was a rugged man. That was my father. "Nobody tells me anything!" my father spat out. He was obviously drunk. My father grabbed a nail from the floor and accurately threw it right at one of the policemen's eye. "AAAAAHHH!" the policeman cried out in agonizing pain. The other policeman got his gun out, but he was too late. Father already ran towards him and struck a knife right to his heart. "N-no." I stammered as my father picked up the gun from the guard and pointed right at me. "Where's your brother? Too bad you don't die together." my father smiled and positioned his finger to the trigger. No. Not now. I can't die now. But ... I also can't escape reality. Goodbye Mom. Goodbye Rick. Goodbye hospital. And... Goodbye, Dad. Let's see each other in Hell.
