  8. Rick's point of view:

"So, Doc... how is she?" I asked nervously as the doctor emerged from the operating room.

The doctor glanced at his record book and massaged his wrinkled forehead.

    "Well..." the doctor started.

I was shaking and my palms were sweating terribly.
    Did Chelsea make it?

"I could only tell you right now is..." the doctor then suddenly stopped.

    "Is?" I repeated impatiently.

"... that Chelsea treats this hospital like a home, you know? She goes out, comes back, goes out, comes back." the doctor continued with a smile on his face.

"Is that a joke?" I remarked sarcastically. My anger was building up little by little.

    The doctor burst out laughing.
    "C'mon. Have a little humor."

    That's it.
    My patience was no more.

My flying clenched fists sent the doctor crashing down on the floor.

"HEY! What did you just do?!" the nurse shouted as he ran towards the hurt doctor.

"HE WAS JOKING AROUND!" I shouted, grabbing the nurse by his collar.

"S-stop." the doctor weakly ordered as he slowly stood up.

He looked straight at me and sighed.
    "She's alive."

Overwhelmed with delight, I let go of the nurse and gave him a big bear hug. I also gave one to the doctor. Only a little bit tighter.

"Do you want the good news first or the bad news?" the doctor asked.

    I hesitated for a moment.
    "Good news."

    The doctor smiled again.
"Well, because of a slight brain damage... she forgot all about "the incident".

    "That's great!" I joyously exclaimed.

    I'm so glad.
Everything is falling back to its places.

"And the bad news?" I asked, feeling nervous again.

The doctor's smile turned upside down and became a frown.
"Well, also because of slight brain damage..."

Then, we were suddenly interrupted with a commotion outside.

"What's all this about?!" the doctor cried out as he barged outside.

"Doc, there are two parents looking for..."

Then, my attention focused on the couple both complaining and yapping.

    Then, I suddenly heard...

    "Where's this man so called...

    ... Rick Anderson?!"
