Medication can be a very essential tool into helping one be able to recover. I would not be able to function day-to-day with relative ease if not for my medications. When it comes down to it, a lot of mental illnesses are caused by chemical imbalances in the brain and medication is needed to stabilize those imbalances. While medication is not everyone's preferance, no one should be shamed for using it or told not to take it as ultimately it is a personal decision. The only person that should have a say in whether or not someone can take medication is that person's doctor(s).
Nope! I meditate semi-regularly. I even meditated before I took medication. It can be useful and calming, but ultimately was not a quick fix and I required medication and several years of therapy. I am by no means suggesting people not meditate. Please do not assume what I do or do not know!
