I steeled myself and cut him off,"Let them arrest me then. I'll show them what I can do." I smirked and left the room,heading straight for the city. Needless to say,I was taken by force to Mishil's chambers,where Kira,the Divine Seer,was waiting. Immediately,the guards forced me down onto my knees. I resisted,but my attempt was futile. She smirked at me,"You dared to come?" "Why wouldn't I dare?" I raised an eyebrow at her. She grinned slightly,"Ooh, feisty. Just how I like it." Taking my chin,she leaned in close and whispered into the depths of my soul,"Just how I like to destroy you." She let go and walked off,flanked by her guards. But before she left,she looked back slightly and warned,"Prepare for hard times ahead." I smirked as the guards forced me into a wooden cell. "It won't be that easy to break me," I narrowed my eyes. The next day, the guards once again dragged me out of the cell. The chilly autumn breeze enveloped my sore bones as I was led to a tall wooden pole. Without a hint of hesitation,the guards bound me to the pole as Shu lit a wooden torch. As I met his iron-cold gaze,I could see a hint of guilt for causing the death of Cheonmyeong. He held up the torch high into the air,Mishil and her followers looking on. ~Chapter 16~ I closed my eyes and waited for the flame to reach me. Seconds passed,and I still felt nothing. Opening my eyes,I saw a blonde-haired guy standing in front of me,holding the torch. He was dressed in simple commoner's clothes,and his dark brown eyes stared unwaveringly into Mishil's onyx eyes with a hint of anger. "If he fabricated the stone tablet,then get that Hajong down here. He fabricated his too," the commoner spoke with an air of confidence. Immediately,Hajong leapt up from his seat and yelled at him,"I never did! That rascal used beans to raise the stone tablet!" Smirking,the commoner threw the torch to Hajong's stone tablet,setting it ablaze. "How would you know how he did it,if you didn't do it yourself?" he countered. At a loss for words,Hajong sat back down. None of the guards dared to stop the commoner from untying me. They were astonished at his skills and his linguistic competence. As he led me out of the execution grounds,I asked him,"Why did you save me?" He replied nonchalantly,"Because I was bored. And I couldn't stand the injustice." He smiled,"My name is Jeremi.
