  3.      "Now you can't see me. Sarah will be mine for all eternity. Right, Evangeline, my lovely boss?"

"Yes, assistant." My mom answers him, and I go still with shock as the lights turn back on again.

"Mom! Don't do this! He raped me!" I yell, standing up on weak, unsteady legs, supported by an angry Eli.

"I know, Sarah. I've got your future husband right here." I take one look at Celginance, and gag.

"Eli, step away from my daughter. You will never get her." My mom speaks with a deadly dangerous tone. When Eli refuses, mom yells.

"KILL ELI!" Celginance pulls out a gun at mom's orders, and takes aim at Eli. I quickly shield Eli, and mom shakes her head at Celginance.

"Stop. You can't kill Eli without hitting Sarah." Mom looks at me, and starts approaching me. Without even reacting, I push back against Eli, forcing him away from mom and me as I grow stronger in anger.

"You kill Eli, you kill me." My voice sounds calm while my eyes turn red with anger. Mom's own eyes flash red, and she raises an arm to strike me. I throw an arm up in defense, and kick mom in the stomach. I suddenly feel arms around my waist, pulling me back, and I shriek.

"Stop fighting! It's only Eli!" A voice whispers into my ear, and sounds like Eli, but smells like Celginance.

"NO! Let me go, you rat turd!" I swing an elbow back into his fat stomach, then bring my fist up to his eye. He releases me, and I pull him to the ground, leaping away from him. I knock him out, and leap over him to a knocked out Eli. I start trying to wake Eli up, when I feel a piercing pain in my arm. I see a knife in it, and gently pull it, moaning with pain. I get up, and fling the knife with deadly accuracy, sinking it into my mom's heart. Her last words are spoken, and I know that I'll always remember them.

"Thank you, Sarah. Thank you." She speaks with surprising softness, and sincerity, before crumpling, and dying. I get down on my knees, and check on Eli, praying that he's alive, ignoring the pain in my arm, and the bloodstain spreading on and down my shirtsleeve and arm.

"You're bleeding!" are Eli's words as soon as he wakes up while I'm checking his pulse.

"I know. Are you okay?" My voice wavers a little as I say this, and I release his wrist, covering the stab wound with my hand, trying to stench the worst of the blood flow.

"I'm fine. You're not. Tell me what happened."

"I got stabbed while I was checking on you. By who, I don't know. I think the knife was meant for my head, but the hilt bounced off the wall, and went into my arm. I in turned used it on mom. I feel no grief of her death after she turned out to be in cahoots with Celginance all along. I haven't loved her for a while after she started getting abusive." My mind flashes back to all of the hits and beatings I took, and both of my hands clench tightly. I flinch, loosening my grip as more blood spurts out.

"We need to get out of here now. You're bleeding too badly." Eli pulls me up gently, and shelters me under his broad shoulder, telling me to have the wound above my heart. I look at him nervously, and struggle to raise my hand high in the air, trying not to hit Eli in the face on accident.

"This isn't going to work." I say doubtfully, and Eli nods thoughfully.

"I'll find some strips of something. We'll tightly bandage it. Sarah, you listening to me? Sarah! Don't you dare die!" Eli yells as I go pale, and still as the world goes dark yet again. Why is it always me that passes out? I let this thought run through my mind as I pass out.[/color]

  6.    "Sarah! Wake up!" I feel cold  snow on my back, and in my hair, with something heavy covering me. I blink, realizing the heavy thing is a coat.

"Damn it! Why is it always me that passes out?! Ugh!" I respond, shoving the heavy coat off. Eli laughs with relief, crouching down besides me with snow in his hands.

"Can I get up, or no?" I ask groggily, and he threatens to dump snow down my shirt if I do. I make a face at him like as if I know he won't, and struggle to get up. That's when multiple things happen.

"I told you not to get up!" Eli yells, dumping the snow down my shirt as the wind starts blowing strongly.

"Eli?! Where'd ya go?!" I yell frantically as Eli suddenly let's me go. I'm suddenly knocked down by a strong force as the wind blows harder than before.

"Oof!" I say, feeling around when I feel something cold, but wet. I let out an exclamation of shock, withdrawing my hand hurriedly. A hand connects with my jaw, and a foot connects with my stomach, sending me flying just as the wind and sudden snow storm starts to die down. I land with a bone jarring thud, and realize I've landed in a big hole. I hear some heavy foot thuds, and look to right, willing my body to go still, and my eyes to glass over. Playing dead, safest thing ever. Thank you, oppusoms! I let this thought run through my head, and go still as I hear a deadly voice. I hear pained yelling, a moaning noise, then a chewing and grinding noise, and splattering noises. A body comes flying in by me, and I take a look at it. I see Celginance's partially headless body with various bite marks and partially missing body parts missing, and let out a scream, scrambling out of the hole just as the sudden snow storm ends.

"Eli! Eli!" I call, and that's when I see my mom's dead form bending over Eli, holding her in the super human strength of a zombie. I see he's fighting her, and race over, placing my knees on her back, and hands with interlocked fingers over her throat. I pull back hard, and feel her head and neck come off. I tumble off of her, flinging her head far away from me. The body goes limp, and Eli flings it off as I roll over, and wipe my bloodied hands off in the snow. I pull start pulling myself up when my hands sink right into the snow, something latched onto them. Strong arms lock under mine, and attempt pulling me up.

"Damn! How'd you get so heavy?!" Eli cusses, still trying to help me up while I try as well.

"Something's got my hands!" I exclaim as I'm pulled deeper into the snow. Eli's face turns red with strain as he keeps straining against what easily pulls on me. I suddenly jerk upwards as whatever it was releases me. We both go flying, me landing on Eli. His face starts looking normal again before he bursts out laughing.

"I always knew you'd use me as a bed one day!" He says between laughs, and I punch him in the arm. I feel something dribble down my arm, and look at it closely. I see blood running from the tip of my finger down to my elbow, and see a pin in it, with a note tied to the pin. I yell, rolling off of Eli, reading the small note aloud.

"Beware the midnight hour, or you'll be the dead bee's flower." I finish reading it, and start pulling the pin out. I let out a yelp before ramming my finger in the snow, yanking the pin out quickly.

"What could that mean?" I hear Eli ask me, deep in thought.

"Beware the midnight hour, or you'll be the dead bee's flower. Beware the midnight hour means be careful at midnight. Dead bee. Dead bee. Dead bee. Wait. Dead bee could be zombie and dead beat. Oh god! My dad is a zombie! Flower would be their meal. If I'm not careful at 12 AM, my zombie dad is going to eat me. This is a warning-slash-threat that something is going to happen." I say, staring at the note in horror. Eli's face pales, and he flips the note over.

"It's signed Chris Riedfeld!" Eli exclaims, glaring at the note.

        "Who's that?"

"He's a murderer that promised he'd escape jail, and start a zombie revolution. That was 5 years ago. He followed through on his promise, and promised to go after his enemy's daughter, and force her hand in marriage. He'd send her a note, and she is to leave a note saying her answer. If no, well, the results would not be pretty. Now, let's get you out of here before Celginance wakes up." As if on cue, we hear a moaning noise, followed by Celginance crawling out of the hole. I scramble up, and catch Eli's hand, and he pulls me along with more force than he thought he'd need. I go with him, trying not to whimper at his way too tight grip. I follow along, and soon we're out of the woods, and evacuating everybody as multiple zombies start to come out of the woods. We hear tires squealing, and soon, only Eli's car is the only one left in sight.

"All the garages are empty!" I report to Eli, dropping the bloody branch as I reach him.

"The houses are void of life." Eli tells me, trying to help me open the jammed passenger door.

MUHNNNNNNN. MUHNNNNNNN. We hear two moans a little distance away, and suddenly the car door springs open. Eli and I both fall back, and quickly scramble up. He shoots right into the car, and I'm right behind him, slamming the car door behind me. Eli squeals out of the driveway, and speeds towards town. We pull into the parking lot of the first store that's the emptiest. I hop out, and can hear screaming, moaning, feet pounding against the pavement, gun shots, then… Silence. Total silence. I send a look at Eli, and see a look of surprise on his face, then pain as a high pitched noise fills the air. I grab Eli's hand as I stumble over to him, pulling him into the store, where all is lifeless. I see blood smears all over the lines, and something that looks disturbingly like a heart on one of the conveyor belts. Pity fills my heart as queasiness fills my stomach at the rotten odor. I follow Eli to the back, where there is a windowless storage room, with steel doors. He shoved me into the storage room, and pulled the doors shut behind him.

"What the HELL was that?!" I exclaimed immediately, waiting for Eli's answer.

"I don't know, but whatever it was seemed to get rid of the zombies for a while." Just at that moment, we heard an explosion out front.

"I think that was your car." I said, pulling Eli back.

"At least we weren't in it."

"Yeah." Everything got quiet, then, we heard a banging noise on the doors as a moaning noise filled the room.
