I would have gone and got my manager and be like.... Look this LADEH is being sooo rude and disrespectful... Can you please handle her? ?
i was taught to respect my elders but god damn the elderly do be bitter... i was grocery shopping one time and had my 4 yr with me this elderly lady knockef her over with her basket.. i said u didn't see my baby she said yes im in a hurry i said at least say ur sorry she told me to **** off
Damn. You guys don't know how her day went. If she's old old (didn't read full thread don't know of it was stated or not) then you still show respect to your elders. Apparently that memo was lost in this generation going full retard.
Having a "bad" day is no reason to be a rude elderly person, if she's so old she should have lived long enough to know how to ask for something nicely. But ey that's just how I see it, treat others how u wanna be treated.
If my day is going bad I keep that shit to myself. I dont throw shit at people that didn't do shit wrong. If the past generations have been more respectful and were raised better then where was her respect to me?
No matter how badly someone's day went, it's no excuse to be rude. When people are rude to me I try my best to be kind and helpful if I am able to be. Otherwise I get help. Sometimes I even point out that the other person is being rude, depending on the situation. Bad behavior doesn't occur to people at times, and goading them doesn't fix the situation.
Next time what you do. Give her a new card with a smile... then when you get a crackhead in give them the same room on "accident /purpose ".. and let them walk in on the old lady.. woops. Sorry mam ... just an idea.
When she threw the card at me ,I would've pushed it towards her on the counter and simply said, "ma'am, please don't throw your card key at me, smiled, now lets try this again, nicely". Remember, you took job which is in a customer service base environment, you're going have all kinds of customers, don't let ones like this "ruin your day".
Everyone tryin to justify it by saying "no matter how bad your day is you don't be rude" we'll guess what sunshine it's life. People will be rude. You need to choose to be the bigger person or stoop down to that persons level.
...ofc people are gonna be rude, but if u want something done u can't be rude to the person you want to do it, not everyone takes crap from people, that's life. And she got what she deserved
I'm actually really sweet when people are rude it usually makes them realize how much of a dick they're being. I had a couple come in today the guy was really nice but the girl was obviously a snob. So I got done taking their order where the girl was snide, and rude, and just a complete pain in the ass to deal with. At the end the guy goes to put a tip in our tip jar. And she goes "No! Don't tip her they're not a actual food establishment it's like fast food they don't serve you or anything and she makes above minimum wage." I smiled and got them their drinks and as I'm handing them their drinks I said as sweet as pie "since you guys have obviously never been here before you order up here with me at the register and that's the only thing you have to do we are a full service establishment from there. We bring the food out to you and whatever else you would like. And ma'am I actually get paid below minimum wage and all of us front girls split the tips so tips are greatly appreciated and would be regardless for good service." The guy grinned and put 10 dollars in the tip jar instead of the 5 he was originally going to put in. And when she walked off in a huff he goes "you made my day I've never seen anyone speak to her that way and prove her incorrect. Thanks for cheering up my day!"
