Nah I don’t really give a crap about all that, she just says a lot of things that are contradicting, don’t make sense, and tried to make it okay that she’s said the word f*ggot “15 thousand times” and is totally fine with it /:
Honestly you can look her up on twitter and find soooo much stuff that’s been brought up. I’m going off of what I’ve been told so I might be wrong, but I know that people who don’t like her have brought up so much shit lmao
Also, @Jaco: she doesn't have to apologize, but her use of the word and whether or not she is apologetic can effect my perspective and others' perspectives on her based on our own moral values. No one is stopping her from using the word but people are allowed to dislike her use of it.
As the only gay person in this thread can i just say the word fággot is so irrelevant to me. Other gay ppl feel free to chip in with what you think of the word
I’m not gay, though I am lgbt+, but I have a support group and gcs with lgbt+ individuals who honestly hate it when straight people or “bicurious” people use the word, I even know some dislike it when straight trans people say it. I won’t speak for all, but I know that people do still have an issue with people using it left and right when they’re not in lgbt+ or just Pan/bi/gay
You just flipped out over a girl that used someone else's photo. You apologized after you saw her apology, but it's the same ish...
Anybody can use that word. It's not illegal. It's not a racial slur. Calling a gay person that word is like calling you your name. You are what you are. Don't be offended, be proud. True LGBTQ members aren't offended nor ashamed of that word. They call themselves queer as well. You can't act like it's negative if that's what they actually are.
Okay, well speaking for yourself does it offend you on a personal level? Do you feel hurt as an individual?
What? In like all the circles I've in, bisexual people can call themselves gay under the umbrella term. I wouldn't ID as a lesbian because I'm not exclusively attracted to women, but no one has ever had an issue with me or other bisexual people calling themselves gay before since we experience same-sèx attraction as well. ? And, tbh the word doesn't offend me on a personal level, but I just think its use by non-lgb people is in "poor taste" given the history of the term.
People can act like it’s negative because it was a word used as a slur for years upon years maybe? People might not be ashamed of it, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be fine with anyone and everyone using that word, especially when cishet (or other variations, depends on the person) still use the word as a slur.
Is that flipping out? Nah.. I'm actually quite calm. Like I said, this is the era of oversensitivity lol.
Personally, I don’t like it being used by cishet people in any way. When it spread around my HS that I was pan and my best friend was bi, we’d get screamed at and almost got in fights, f*ggot being the main slur yelled at us. I don’t like cishets using the word because so many people do still use it negatively even today.
Ok, gay is gay, straight is straight. The only two sexualities. No debate. Bi, lesbian and "bicurious" are all gay. Please ask a LGBTQ person. In fact, let's ask Riven.
