After the game- "Hey Leo!" Peter called. The guy turned. Wow. He was even cuter up close. He had dark red hair that was messy because of his football helmet. He had tiny freckles that spilled across his cheeks. "Uh, Peter right?" Peter nodded. Leo's gaze traveled to Abi's and stayed there. "And who might you be?" he said, smiling. Abi giggled, "Abigail but you can call me Abi." As they started talking about whatever, Peter and I back out, giving them space. "I'm gonna get us some of the drinjs over in the refreshment table." he said, cocking his head toward the other side of the field. "Sure" I waited, looking around. We had won, and everyone was cheering, laughing and talking loudly. "Cassy. Hey." Oh shiz. Is that who I think it is? "Hey Xander.Congrats." I tried to smile but my lips felt like jelly. Is he really talking to me after what I did? "Thanks" he smiled that smile I used to find gor-geous. Used to. Not anymore. Right? "So how's it going?" I said casually. "It's-I'm doing good. You?" "I'm okay." An awkard silence filled the air despite the constant chater around us. "XANDERRRR!" a voice said, loud and RIGHT IN MY EAR. A pair of tiny hands flew forward and wrapped around a very shocked Alexander ina menacing hug. "Woah, hey Gaby." Gaby? Gaby? Gaby?! I don't know why but an uneasy feeling settled in my stomach. A mixture of anger and - was that? - jealously? No it's crazy. Peter is mine. Peter Peter Peter. "Congrrrratulaaaaatiooooonssss!" she screeched. She spun around, facing me, her arms still around Alex. "You must be Cassy. The one my dearest cousin made a fool of at BunnyBoos party." BunnyBoo? That's worse than FruitLoops. Seriously. It sounds...ew. I cleared my throat and stood up straighter, time to tell her who's boss. "Actually, yeah that was me. I'm Xander's ex " Ha. Her eyes were shocked for a milisecond there before it turned into slits, "Oh yeah. So sorry to hear about that. He just loved me more." My own eyes narrowed, "In case your BunnyBoo forgot to mention, I broke up with him ." With that said, a walked away, leaving Gaby screaming, " You told me you broke up with her!!" I walked back to Abi and Leo, who were now ROFL-ing. They obviously going to get together. Huh. Now Alexander was taken care of...um, kinda. Where was Peter? I searched but ciukdn't seem to find him. It's like he went total MIA. "Peter?" I called out, my voice echoing throughout the hallway. The sound of footsteps pacong in the next hall filled the air. I creeped closer, my back leaning right beside the corner of the two halls. "......I'll be there soon, maybe......yes, I'm fine.....Thinking of you." Was that Peter? Yes, yes it was. "Yeah, okay....i gotta get back.....bye.....love ya." I don't know what came over me, I ran. "Is anyone here?" a voice called out. I sat on the stairs, crying silently. I have no freggin' idea why I'm crying. Peter was probably talking to his mom. I guess. So why did I feel like cr*p?" "Cassy?" I looked up. A shadow was over me. "Xander?" Once he saw I was crying he sat beside me on the steps, and aaid ina soothing voice, "Cass. What's wrong?" I wiped my tears, slightly laughing. The whole situation seemed so stupid, "Nothing." He didn't believe me, no one would've but he backed of. "You can tell me anything you know. If you have problems." "I know." i said, looking down at my feet. He raised my chin up with two of his fingers, our eyes meeting, "Look, Cassy, even if we're over just know that I'm fighting for you. Day by day. I'll be fighting." Those were the kindest words anyone has said to me. Even Peter. Peter. "What about Gaby?" "I broke up with her. She was freaking out about the whole who broke up with who thing and I decided, it was over. She's not my type. You are." he smiled, pleased with himself for breaking up with Gaby. Bzzzt. Bzzzt. Xander took out his phone, "Aw, I got to go. Will you be okay?" he said, stnading up. I smiled, a real one this time, "Yeah." And as quick as the speed of light, he leaned down and gave a small peck on my cheek. And like that, he was gone. --- Sorry. I have been soooo busy. but still, I hope you like it!
-One Day Later- "Cass, you're not answering my texts. Is something wrong?" Beeep I don't know if I was mad. I wasn't mad at Peter. I lay on my bed, staring at my dull blue ceiling. That was the fifth message he had left, aside from the seven texts. I know, I know, the thing I must be most worried about is if he's cheating on me. But....this was Peter we're talking about. Kind, sweet Peter. If you asked me this a day ago, I would have gone Heeeeeell no I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to get to the bottom of this. I stood up and grabbed my jacket. I ran down the steos, putting on my jacket at the same time. "Mom I'm going out!" I hollered, already shutting the front door. My house was located in the middle of the whole neighborhood so I got to Peter's quickly. His car was there. He was home. I paused in front of the door. What if his mom answered? What do I say? Suddenly, the door flew open and a girl stepped out, crying. "Are you oka-" the word got stuck at my throat. I knew this girl. It was Gaby. "So happy to see me crying, eh?" she said, still managing to give me a glare even through the tears. "I-I" I stammered. "Save it." she turned and stalked off. "Gaby!" a voice called. I turned around. It was Peter. "-Gabyy..." his voice trailed off, "Uh, hey Cassy." I gave him a small smile, "Hey Pete." "Gaby was just, uh, stopping by for homework for Algebra." "Why was she crying?" Nancy Drew skills ooon. "She totally broke down about her break-up with Alexander." he smiled a bit. "Ah." I thought about it for a second. "Would you like to come in?" he said, gesturing inside. "Uh, actually, I have to go...you know, home." I so did not want to be thinking about Gaby while in his house. His face fell, "Oh sure." he tooj a step towards me. "I guess I'll see in schook, right?" I said. Another step. "Yeah." He was now inches away from my face. He was going to kiss me. I knew. 5...4... His face came closer...and closer. I felt a pit in my stomach. Pull away! Pull away! a part if my mind screamed. But he was my boyfriend. I needed to kiss him, right? 3..... But it didn't feel right! I was panicking now. What should I do? Kiss him? No! Yes! I don't know! 2..... One word flashed through my mind before i made my decision. 1.... "I-I have to go." I turned away, so his lips made contact with my cheek instead. He backed away, blinking, "Oh. Oh, yeah. Okay. Sure. Bye." "Bye." I sulked down the street, pondering. Did I do it right? Should I have kissed him? The freaky this was, the one word that flashed through my mind before I didn't kiss him was.... Alexander.
