  3. Help Wanted

The Amiable Mobster knocked twice on the door of the warehouse. A woman opened the door, her long necklace jingling as she leaned out. When she saw the man, the Flirtatious Flapper smiled.

"No need for a password from you, old friend." She says and opens the door for him, and the pair enter. The Flapper shuts the door firmly behind them and bolts it.

"Al said you had a... project for me." The Mobster says.

The Flapper nods eagerly. "I'm in love with the Stunning Showman, and another woman is in the way. I need her... taken care of, for good." She pauses, and then adds, "I need her sleeping with the fishes, as you say."

The Mobster crinkles his nose. "We do not actually say that. Cringe." He shrugs, though. "If you need a hit, I am indeed your man. Capone's best hitman might I add."

"Aw, the humility." The Flapper cooes. She hands him a photograph of a scantily clad woman. The Shimmering Showgirl. "She's redirected my lover's attention. I can't bare to be without him. I need her disposed of."

The Mobster takes the photograph and nods. "Consider it done, friend. We'll discuss the payment later."

    They shake hands.

A week later, a corpse is found in an alleyway, and a "HELP WANTED" sign goes up in the window of the strip club.

Two weeks later, the Mobster receives a wedding invitation in the mail.

  4. Oh, i love this alot

  5. Today was the day. The place was packed, the audience waited in uncontained excitement for the next act to go one. The final act.

They've seen the greatest Showman but they have yet to see me, the shimmering showgirl. Anxiously I wait for my name to be called out, shaking off every last nerve when my mind wanders to how this all came to be.

It was a just last week when the auditions came back, and it showed that I was the runner up for the part I play now. Everyone loved the flirtatious flapper, her bobbed brown hair and stunning blue dress that seemed to highlight every twirl. I hated her. She was everything I wanted to be and had just won the role of my dreams. Her smile seemed to charm even the darkest of souls, and me? The runner up.

In my room I paced and paced. Left. Right. Left. Right. My mind going back to the final auditions. I wanted that spot more than anything, worked day and night till my body ached from over use, and she was in m way. No matter how many times I go over it, it was perfectly clear what I had to do. She had to go.

I quickly yet quietly make it up to her room, making sure no one saw me, no one even heard me. I quietly open her door without even a creak. She was out on the terrace with a Sherly Temple, smiling out at the sounds of the city. How I hate that smile! That smile that blinded the judges, took away my dreams! I want her to never smile again! I make my way over to her, not making a sound. Her back was turned to me and the sounds of the town and the people covering the sound of my footsteps closing in on her.

I end up right behind her, cursing and ranting silently about her smile. Believing herself better than me when I did everything for what I loved. To perform upon a stage and love by all. She started to turn around and my mind began to panic and it was then I had to do it. With a shove over the terrace she is sent screaming down to the ground. In all the confusion I run back to my room unnoticed. No one even knowing I had left to begin with.

    "Miss you're on next."

I was brought back by the stage man who was letting me know it was my turn to shine. To make sure everyone knew who I was. And as I stepped out onto the stage I smiled a smile similar to the passed flirtatious flapper and I walk onto the stage. After all, even though she was no longer with us. The show must go on.

  6. Hey, this is 475 words which is beyond the 250 word limit. You may want to revise this and repost an abridged version!

  7. A crisp evening in Vegas, the Amiable mobster is walking through the streets. As he passes an alleyway he hears a faint whisper in the wind "Hey there...". A young man appears, the Stunning Showman.

The mobster takes his hat off and slowly treads into the darkness of the alley. "How can I help you young man?". The Showman nervously takes his hat in his hands before replying "I got a threat yesterday, I want you to wait in my dressing room and make sure nobody waits for me there."

The Mobster let's out a sigh "Sounds petty, you'll have to pay a pretty penny." The Showman nods his head and offers a handshake. The Mobster turns away and places his hat back on his head before returning to the streets.

The Mobster sits inside the dark dressing room waiting. The door slowly creaks open. The Flirtatious Flapper sneaks through the door before shutting it. She turns the lights on before the Mobster puts his gun to her head. "Evening madam."

They sit in silence before the Shimmering Showgirl opens the door. The Mobster shifts his attention to her. "What are you two doing in my partners dressing room?" She asked. "I could ask you the same thing." The mobster replied.

What was the Showgirl doing in the Showmans room? Why did the Flapper try to sneak in? Was one of them the supposed killer? Were they both in on it? Answer revealed later ?

But this shimmering showgirl that lighten up all the boys at night who tries to flirt at her ended up dead at morning. Why this shimmering showgirl kill all the boys who tries to flirt at her at night? What is her reason to kill them?

  10. On a very busy night the Flapper and the show girl were working the butts off. As they are are performing like usally. A mobster walls into the bar in which he buys himself a drink as usual. Vodka on the rocks as the showmen pours him his drink. The mobster knows the showmen personally and says add that to my tab in which the showmen did. As they are standing there talking to each other a drunk guy walks over tripping pushing the mobster in which the mobster spills his drink. The man apologizes quickly untill he realizes who he’s talking to. Saying sorry to a rival gang, he laughs as he pushes him again. The mobster throughs a right hook hitting the man in his face. Know as he looks around he sees all the other men dressed in the same color surround him in which he looks over to the showmen. The showmen giggles and says this is going to be one hell of a show!!

  13. Women from all over the globe would flock to his feet, desperate to be his arm candy for just one night. The Amiable Mobster was the bees knees and more when it came to the mean streets of Vegas. Yet try as they might, every sweet lady would only get so far, only to be dismissed by the end of the evening. Every night the Shimmering Showgirl would turn into a smoldering temptress, batting her eyelashes and trying to charm her way into his heart. She danced and crooned and did her best to enchant and entice. Yet it was to no avail, as he said his heart belonged to the mistress of the night, and the one who beckoned him home. The Mobster would merely bow his head, tip his hat, and bid them a good evening, before returning to home to the only girl he could ever love. Inside his abode, as soon as the door was unlocked and open, soft paws padded on the floor, and the tiny munchkin of a hypnocat would give him a nuzzle, in return for his unconditional love.

  14. It's been a week since the vicious murder of vegas' most famous Stunning Showman. His death took the world by storm, breaking the hearts of his many fans.

Detectives are finding it challenging to find the culprit of such crime. "They must have been a monster!" One of them exclaimed when the body was found.

The traces were all wiped skilfully, leaving all the detectives scratching their heads and gritting their teeth in annoyance, wondering who could it be.

All that was found was a fingerprintless bloody knife, and a glass, once full of wine, on the glittery floor beside him where he laid.

There was no sign of breaking in, neither any sign of him struggling in his room. He must have known the killer, the detectives figured.

With the help of CCTV, 3 people were found close to the crime scene, and at the time of the murder.

Shimmering Showgirl, Amiable Mobster and Flitratious Flapper, thus all were rendered suspects.

They seemed confused, even showgirl and Flapper cried when they found out their friend was gone. Mobster didn't show much emotions, but he was visibly shaken up too.

After briefly interviewing the suspects, they were sent home since no definite proof against any of them was found.

The detectives had no other choice but to go searching Showman's room again for any more clues.

However, Once again nothing could be found but the heaps of shimmeing glitter everywhere sticking to their clothes, and annoying them even more. (255)

    ----THE END----

  15. The usually-amiable mobster let out a slow, long sigh, and drained the whiskey from his glass. He paused for just a moment, remembering a simpler time, before the flirty flappers and glitzy showgirls made life complicated. He shook his head, put the glass down, and stood, heading for the door. As he turned the doorknob, he was startled by an urgent knock.

The mobster opened the door with a look of surprise, that quickly turned serious when he saw the showman before him.

“They’re fighting again, there are shards of mirror all over the dressing rooms, we need you”, he pleaded.

The mobster sighed again, nodded, then followed the showman through the dark, winding corridors hidden from the casino floor. If only the patrons knew of the ‘show’ before the show.

20 minutes later, the fight forgotten, the girls were on stage putting on a proper Vegas show. The showman walked the mobster back to his room.

The mobster kept his eyes to the ground. The showman would never know just how stunning he was, or how long the mobster had hidden his feelings. It was why he was always at this casino.

“These women, pfft! Little do they know! We’re really grateful for you... I’M really grateful for you.”

The mobster slowly raised his eyes to meet the showman’s, and saw the slightest twinkle, and a playful smile. The mobster gave the showman a knowing smile in return, pulled him into the room, and locked the door behind them.

  16. Lysette, or as most people know her nowadays; The Shimmering Showgirl, took a long drag of her cigarette before looking out over the city below her.
Up here, everything was calm. Up here, it was like it never really happened. Like her best friend hadn’t just been killed. Like she wasn’t currently standing on the balcony of the man she despised most in this world.

“God what a night” she said to herself, as she took another drag. Lysette had to come up with something, she knew that much. She had until her cigarette was out to decide what to do.

Damian Lafayette, better known as the Amiable Mobster, had just orchestrated the untimely demise of her best friend and confidant, that much was a fact, all though she couldn’t prove it. And, if she’s being honest with herself, she’s not sure she wants to anyway.

Most of all she just wants to go in there and shoot the bastard, but something stops her. Her humanity, perhaps? Her inner sense of right and wrong? Maybe she should wait it out, get him drunk and dig until she makes him confess. Wait, no, that would never hold up in court.

She could just leave, start a new life and never look back. Find happiness, maybe. But then again, she would never forgive herself for letting her best friends killer go free.

    Choices, choices...

Lysette took the last drag of her cigarette, shrugged her shoulders and pulled the gun from her bag.

A shimmering Showgirl was walking down a dark alley of Vegas past midnight. On her way home her feet stiffened as she felt as if she was being followed.

Turning her back, in a corner she saw a figure of a man wearing a peculiar grin.

“Well, a lovely evening to you Madam I didn’t think a fine woman like you can be this vigilant.” The man had spoken
Familiarized she asked this amiable Mobster “What do you want?”
“You know exactly what I want, did you get the work done?” he worded back.
“I’m working on it.” The Showgirl answered.
“You better do as I say my patience is wearing thin and I’ve paid good money just to get my hands clean.” As he walked opposite her way he added
“Don’t forget your unpaid debts left by your deceased parents, you wouldn’t want to end up in their place.”

    The Next Day…

“Guess what!” The stunning showman burst in the shimmering Showgirl’s dressing room.
“What? Also do learn to knock.” The Showgirl confused.
“I’m getting married!” he excitedly announced.
“It’s her isn’t the Flapper girl.” She spoken with a change of expression as he nodded as the answer.

Tears begun falling down her cheeks the Showgirl then grabbed a gun which was inside the cabinet of her dresser.
The showman was shocked and puzzled about the gun in her hand as she murmured her last words.
“I’m sorry my love…”before pulling the trigger
The gunshot can be heard outside.

  19. A man walked up to the ticket booth past the crowd. He Cut in line so nonchalantly. People was going to complain until they realized it was the Amiable mobster. He was paying for a ticket to see the show. The booth man was nervous during the transaction, quietly saying, “enjoy the show.” As he handed the mobster his ticket. The mobster entered the Ceasar Palace. He got the first seat up front and sat down after grabbing a glass of wine from a waitress, casually sipping it as he waited with anticipation. Meanwhile the showgirl and showman was getting ready for their performance. They was giggling excitedly when they said aloud together, “We are the stars after all!” The flapper in the back was mocking them and smirking as she thought, “I will be the star today!” As the curtain opened the audiences was amazed by the stars costumes, unfortunately it didn’t last long. When the curtains opened and the stars started to do their routine, the wardrobe malfunctioned. Feathers fell off and their bloomers were exposed. They both ran off the stage grasping at their clothes. The whole audience was laughing. The mobster wasn’t amused and grew more suspicious as the flapper took the stage as a replacement. Her smile was wider than a clowns, as she winked at the mobster. He knew the showgirl was set up and he was going to get revenge for his love, if it was the last thing he did.
    --THE END--

What's the mobster going to do?
Whose going to win the battle of Fame?

  20. The Shimmering Showgirl applied her makeup with an incredible speed and precision, contouring and highlighting every single beautiful feature.
A knock thundered on her dressing room door, startling her. “Who is it?” She looked in her mirror to see the reflection of the Amiable Mobster. She stiffened. “What do you want?”
“Your payment is due doll,” He smiled.
“He said I had another week,” Shimmering replied, her ma had always warned her to not get involved with the mob.
“Well the timeline has moved up,” Amiable smirked.
“The cops will be suspicious if more bodies start showing up, the Boss can’t expect me to take care of ALL of his enemies within weeks.”
“He can expect whatever he wishes doll, since you’re indebted to him.” Amiable sauntered over to her. “Also being the best contracted killer in the City comes with a reputation that needs to be upheld, don’t you agree?”
He held out a silver pistol to her, Shimmering’s eyes flickering from his face to the gun. “Who is it this time?” She inquired, taking the gun from him.
    Amiable smiled maliciously. “You’re boss.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. “My boss?”
“Yes doll, and I’m sure I don’t need to remind you what will happen if you don’t come through?”
“Of course not,” She stuffed the gun into a drawer. “Consider it done.”
