  1. These countries' laws call to kill gays:

    πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Nigeria
    πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡΄ Somalia
    πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° Pakistan

These countries sit on the UN Human Rights Council:

  5. Well the UN as a whole is fΓΌcked, so what's it matter?

  7. UN HRC is a big joke. They'd call out a country's administration for dealing with drug users/abusers, as police executes them on a shootout. But stay quiet when those filthy drug abusers kill or sexually abuse innocent young people.

  8. Yeah the UN was meant to protect the world but seems to be more interested in protecting the Arab world. πŸ‘€

I think it jest becomes clear with the human rights stuff because of its inability to target any real, major human rights abuses like the situation of the Uyghur in China, and Christians and homosexuals in the Arab world.

  9. In theory it sounds good but in practice it is not well-executed πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ like if you actually read the UN HCR delectation of human rights countries could easily manipulate their actions and say they’re complying with what is stated but in reality we know that’s not happening. It’s kind of just rhetoric and can’t really enforce anything but government can point to it and say β€œwe support this”...

  10. Coincidence

  11. Human Rights are a joke. They are grossly violated across the world in ways more than one.

And U.N, well it is plagued with a skewed power distribution. And it was meant to be that way when it was incorporated. Forget abot gay rights, they could do nothing in Syria, North Korea, Venenzuela, Zimbabwe, Most of Africa, etc. to curb human rights violation.

It's baffling that pakistan is even a part of the U.N. Everyone knows its a major sponsor of terror funding, aided by countries like China, U.S that hold a veto in the U.N. Jaish-e-Mohammed(among other terrorist organizations operating out of and funded by Pakistan) is headed by a well known terrorist named Masood Azhar. India has moved a motion to declare him a terrorist in the U.N years ago, with concrete proof and it only came to fruition in May this year. Why? Because China has a veto and they had objections in declaring him a terrorist. He has been master mind behind major terrorist attacks. Now that he has been declared a terrorist, what is the next step? Nothing. He is safe in Pakistan and was also seen as a candidate for Prime Minister of Pakistan in their last election. He is safe. His human rights are protected. This is just one of the many instances. I could go on but its already tl;dr.

So, unless the skew in power isnt done with, human rights are a mere tool for politicians to score votes on. Thats just my opinion

  14. There's so much more kefo. the basic human right is right to healthy life. But look at Africa, China, etc. People are exploited to the fullest but has the U.N intervened? Never

  15. Literally every country is breaking that basic human right in some form or another. All of the U.N. is at fault. They look away at the abuses because acknowledging them would force them to confront their own misdoings.

  16. I think the UN could do with a priority order for human rights abuses to use to focus their actions and become more effective.

That list of priorities could even be made externally between nations to hold the UN to account and to provide them with an external mandate. With an approximate amount of time/resources/resolutions needing to address higher ranked priorities, and a lower approximate amount of attention given to lower priorities. Hard to monitor, though.

The UN was meant to be the highest monitor but it seems that everything needs a monitor.

Perhaps things above a certain priority level would be exempt from Veto as well.

  17. Well the problem is, U.N is run by the ones who it was supposed to monitor
