The only live performance I’ve been to has been to Hamilton the musical so I mean that’s pretty good? Cost me an arm and a leg but hey I guess it’s cool to have an excuse to be social other than work?
Okay I only kept the relevant parts of this bc no one needs to see the entire reply again lmao but can I upload a picture of the ceiling? I really want to share it, it was so pretty ;-;
Sure... do as you choose picture wise. The picture doesn’t affect my decision either way... but it might be nice for you guys to share your experiences with each other.
I'm gonna one of my most memorable live shows. Ok so a few years back(well more than a few) WWE was putting on a show at a college nearby and my manager at the times daughter went to school therd so we were able to get pretty cheap tickets that ended up being second row but right on the aisle where the wrestlers walk down, so cut to a few matches later and Batista is wrestling i can't remember who so they fight their way out of the ring and down to right in front of us and they are going at it when all of the sudden the guy next to me yells "hey Batista if you want I'll give you my wife man" to which batista stops fighting for a second and turns and looks at the guy with this awkward yet intrigued smile and laughs and just turns around to keep wrestling and of all the matches that i would have to say that was the most entertaining interaction of the night! Not sure if this was what you are looking for but when i seen this forum post it's the first thing that popped in my mind.
Picture this: It’s 2018. Everything sucks. College students are lined up for MILES (probably not a ton but AT LEAST 3 whole miles which is long) to attend spring fest, where the one and only WAKA FLOCKA FLAME will preform. For a “Spring fest” it was surprisingly cold and i should’ve probably worn a jacket. We stood in line for probably an hour, and after being cut by people and causing a scene by yelling at those who cut the line, I decided that i couldn’t beat them, so i joined them. I grabbed my only two friends (im unfriendly so i only have 2 friends) and we ran to the front. It was thrilling but 10/10 got called a hypocrite for doing the thing i was yelling at other ppl for doing. Part two: Inside the building. Just as terrible as outside. Maybe even worse. The 3 mile long line, all crammed into one room. I’ve never felt so close to strangers in my entire life. It was both beautiful, and disgusting because everybody was sweaty and rude. So we wait semi-patiently to get patted down so we can go got musically lit. There’s a separate line for females, since we have to get checked by a fellow female. So i tap on this like 6 ft guy’s shoulder and tell him that we have to move ahead of him to get to the separate line. he ignores me at first, but finally turns around and YELLS AT ME and says that i’m a liar (never raise ur voice to someone shorter than you it’s INSULTING and i thought i was going to cry bc i am a sensitive person.) And then while he’s standing there all smug like after his INAPPROPRIATE OUTBURST, i asked a security officer if there was really a separate line. She said “heck ya” so i said “heck u” to the guy and made the most petty facial expression that a human has ever made. Ya girl, grace (that’s me), and her only two friends proceed to the front line and we are PUMPED for some waka flocka fire. Part 3) Tragic. My friends and i literally throw hands trying to make it through the crowed and to the front by the stage. literally we’re all 5’3 so it was probably pathetic to watch. At one point we tried crawling, it was painful and i don’t recommend. So we’re waiting for my main man Waka, and some dubstep guy is playing music and that’s cool and whatever. It’s like 8. the concert was supposed to start at 7:30 so we’re all like ok cool whaddup where waka at. So another HOUR passes and my ears are bleeding because everyone is SCREAMING and waka is still NOWHERE to be found. I can’t tell if i’m crying or sweating, one of my two friends is MIA. Had to start mentally planning her funeral because she is very tiny and everyone was jumping. Had to assume she was now one with waka but she was probably still with me in spirit. So like another hour or something passes (i can’t tell time anymore, more people have yelled at me for trying to fight my way to the front again. Still wanna cry) Im annoyed, hot, hungry, sober, waka is MIA. I find my other friend (happy she’s alive and well and in one piece.) None of us can breathe, everyone is disgustingly sweaty and TOUCHING ME (like no pls stay 3 ft away at all times) and we LEAVE because we need to shower so we can go to the frat party afterwards. 10 minutes after we leave, (we give our wristbands away bc we’re GENEROUS and bc i still felt bad about cutting the line earlier) WAKA SHOWS UP, ITS APPARENTLY SO LIT and we missed it. So we continue the night by drowning our sorrows in alcohol. 10/10 would do it again tho the end thankyou for watching
Was either 96/97 Van's Warped Tour @ Miami Bayside Amphitheater.(either way, was year after Brad Nowell from sublime oded.. RIP) Friend Scott and I headed to the show and sat to wings at Hooters nearby before going in. Saw some kewl looking black guys in Pimp looking velour pajamas, that just happened to be the band Fishbone performing later at the show just a few tables over from us. The show was a blast. My friend and I saw a skinhead with nàzi tats get beat down by a big brother and a few bikers. Got to chug some Buds with The Alkoholics. Strung Out played an awesome set. FISHBONE frontman stage dived from the roof of the trailer stage without injuring himself. And my friend parked his mustang in a parking garage that closed before the show let out.So we stayed in a funky ass hotel that had a rickety old elevator with the old lever and an attendant. Was good times.
When I was in basic training probably the suckiest part by that time because I was tired asf, I was in a no contact zone and I was mentally and physically drained. My DS at the time was being a ham and told my platoon that we were going to get a patriotic high (he was infantry asf the old school kind) the following morning it was the fourth of July and we were all awaken by screaming and the classic mattress flipping and shake down. They destroyed the bay and told us to clean it. Best birthday morning ever (not). So we proceed to clean and one of my battle buddies starts to cry and talk about how she just wants to have a bomb pop because thats what she did every 4th of July with her family besides the fireworks etc. after we cleaned the bay and it was inspected we were screamed at and smoked for having done it sooner than expected. After our smoke session we had 15 minutes to shower and be in uniform. We were rushed to the bus line and on buses it was shark attack all over again. We took a long ride and ended up in a field where there were troops everywhere. There was a huge stage, tents and food carts. The view of the hills and the sky were beautiful it was like Mother Nature set things in a specific place. We were so confused as to what the hell we were doing. The sun was going down and the stage was being taken. I looked around as the lady took the microphone in her hand and she began to sing the star spangled banner. My battles and I were so confused as to what we were doing and if it was a trap. The lady finished and the crowd started to gather. Yes we are at a concert but why? It grew darker and the crowd started to light up the tents lit up and so did the carnival. It was so amazing and felt like a dream considering the craziness that I had been through. Members of my squad approached me with an Ice cream cone and a funnel cake clearly under the circumstances this was all they could do and you better believe that I was beyond grateful for it. The concert was still going and country was taking the stage. This was such an amazing experience for me because it was more than just my birthday it was Independence Day and it was at it’s finest. As my battles and I looked on to the fireworks show and concert we sat and reflected on what was to come of our military careers and I took in that this my 18th Birthday and it was the best yet. Graduation seemed like it wasn’t so far away after all.
