False. Majority of people who play console games and don't play Facebook and mobile games (maybe)think this. Meanwhile there are more mobile games in the App Store than there are console/PC games ever created. Is it a game? Do you play it? Congratulations, you're a gamer.
As a person who plays pimd and a few other app games, I personally don't find myself thinking I'm a gamer because to me it's just casual. I am not constantly playing mobile games, so basically you have people who like me just are "casual" about playing mobile games and then there are people who probably consider it a lifestyle and consider themselves gamers. But overall yeah people who play mobile games and people who play console games are two different type of gamers, and customers most of the time. I don't think that many hardcore console gamers play mobile apps and vice versa.
I think it all depends on how you define the word "gamer". Technically, if a person plays a game, no matter how often, he/she is considered a gamer. Since PIMD is a game, we are all gamers here then. Imo.

there's a difference between mobile gaming and computer/console gaming. i mean yeah, i guess we are all internet gamers but not real gamers. i reserve that to computer/console games. this game isnt hardcore lol. nearly all games have some way of putting money into it to advance or buy in-game currency so i dont count that. outside of the college theme, this isnt a roleplay game like shooting/adventure/fantasy themed games. it depends on your definition of gamer. in my opinion, no.
I am definitely a gamer. I abandoned TV and now my main entertainment daily is gaming. Smash, pimd and ocasionally, kaw.
