A constant is just a number. Example 1, 7, -8, e, pi Ln3 Constants when graphed are just a horizontal line. The slope does not change and the slope of any constant is always zero.
Ever heard of Duke University? They have a program called Duke TIP, or Duke Talent Identification Program. Based on my academic records and my involvement in 'GT' or Gifted and Talented, Duke sought me and my fellow GT members out and gave us the option to participate in either the SAT's or the ACT's. We take it alongside Higschoolers. (Btw, our test is the same ad any other SAT test, it's not altered because we are 12)
An example of some things that aren't constants: 3x 5^x Sinx Anything that has 'x' in it is not a constant. The slope is not zero for these.
But some will have a point where the slope is zero but not every point on the curve has a slope of zero.
Ohhhhhh Duke Tip... If you do well (like over 18 well--that'll get you in college) they send you mail. For the rest of your freakin middle and high school years. And if it's a high enough score, you'll get mail from competing colleges too. And all these summer academy catalogues. But the SAT is hard as fuck.
Has everyone but me hears of this?! I didn't know anything about until my counsellor gave me the pamphlet
Oh really? Lol ari. If you get a question wrong, you get points taken away... Like...you get one point for a correct answer and get a half point taken away for an incorrect answer... The ACT is easier.
