Chapter IV I took one final glance at the archer and closed my eyes for the last time. Or so I thought. All I heard was a whizz and suddenly I was dropped onto the floor roughly. I opened my eyes to find the thug lying next to me, an arrow sprouting out of his forehead. Blood was oozing out of his wound and slowly, a small pool of blood began to form around his slack, pale body, his life slowly draining away. The thugs exclaimed in horror, unsure wether to flee or to search for the assailant, with their leader dead. Without warning, an auburn haired lady burst out of the foliage, drew out a katana and charged the enemy. With the suppressive fire of arrows, she demolished the thugs, despite being outnumbered AND outsized. As the last thug crumpled lifelessly to the ground, she walked up to me and extended her free hand. I gratefully took it and got to my feet. Looking at her up close, I realized she had beautiful eyes, yet her voice was firm and authoritative. "I'm Farrah. The archer? He's my brother, Salrion. You can tag along with us if you want. We're hunting down the thugs who came after you. Not only the thugs, but the whole lot of 'em." She paused for a while, staring at space. Then, she snapped out of her daze and walked to her brother's position. "Who were those people? Why were they after me? They... They killed my guardian!" I inquired Farrah. Salrion raised an eyebrow and looked at me, but continued into the woods without a word. Farrah, however, slowly replied, "They are a company called PRISM. They're a shady lot, them bástards. Assassination, drug trafficking, illegal arms trading, they do it all. So, are you in?" I nodded. "I've got nowhere else to go, no guardians, no relatives. So.... Yeah. I'm in." We caught up with Salrion at a flat area of land in the forest. There, he had already started a small fire. He sat on a tree stump, absorbed in the map he had spread out across his lap. But I grew restless. I was curious and I wanted answers. "Thanks for saving me... But who was that female earlier? The one Salrion was aiming at?" Salrion stopped scrutinizing the map. He glared at me, roughly folded the parchment up and walked off. Farrah signed and took Salrion's space on the tree stump. He's still sensitive about that subject... I've gotten over it; that no matter what we do, they won't come back... That woman was one of the top agents of PRISM. One day, she went rogue, killed a few PRISM agents and the company's been after her ever since." "Then... Why do you wanna kill her?" Farrah looked me in the eyes. Her kind eyes were replaced by a steely gaze; it felt ad if she was staring right through me. Her lips parted the spit out the sentence. "She killed our parents."
