Attempt love, attempt suicide

  1. He nods. Stephen tries not to talk, so he isn't made fun of. "That's fantastic," I throw my arms around his neck. He starts laughing. I giggle a little, like I said when he's happy you can't to be too.

The bell rings and kids jostle each other to get into the halls through narrow door ways. "See you after gym," Stephen mumbles. I think, ouch, and nod at him.

Stephen monovers his chair through the crowds as I stare after him. Before the accident Stephen was star of the football, basketball, and soccer team. In twenty seconds he lost it all. He risked his life so I'd be unharmed

  2. Very nice story

  3. What happen?!?!

  4. That'd spoil the surprise

  5. "Yet another thing I owe him for," I mutter as I jog to the gym. I change away from everyone. Their all convinced I look at their boobies. I don't, there's nothing there.

Gym class is always hell. The girls don't want me on their team and the guys can't admit I'm good enough to be with them.

  9. I stand on the back of Stephen's wheel chair. What a sight we must be, two kids, one in a motorized wheel chair covered with smiley face stickers and one in all black with a bonnet on racing down the hill. Neither of us could care less. Stephen and I are doing our Friday after school ritual.

Which is racing through McGregor Park to the subway singing Friday by Rebecca Black as loud as we can. There's the people who find us as a relief from the kids who only care about appearance.

"Wanna do something new," Stephen asks as we stroll through the underground.
I look at him sideways. Stephen never wants to do new things. "Sure!"
"Good then we need to go into NYC," he flashes his pass under the scanner. The Big Apple is the only place we aren't allowed to wander alone. Anything else in the state is fair game as long as we are home by eleven.
"Feeling adventurous," I tease, scanning my own pass as he waits patiently.
"You could put it that way," he shrugs. I feel a rush of adrenaline. We were breaking the only rule our parents gave us. To stay away from the clamoring and pick pocketing crowds in The City.
