A lot of European languages are like that. My fren is czech and his czech name is Jiří (pronounced kinda like yeeree). I think j being a y sound in names is lahvalee
it would be pronounced kinda like hairee in korean, too. It's not fully an 'r' though, it's like an r/l mix of a letter
