A doctor or licensed therapist can help show you the pathways you can take. They don't force you to do anything you do not want to. They simply help you make educated decisions.
That's true. I've never found therapy helpful, I just know many other ppl who have benefited so it's always worth trying.
It was very beneficial to me. I think people should at least attempt it before they say that it isn't going to work for them. Every possible avenue for recovery should be explored.
I've noticed that when I get in a depressive mood, just talking to someone you trust or even writing down your issues can be a helpful way of find a solution to your depressive state. By no means is having a personal notebook a guaranteed way to find comfort, but I find that if I can get my thoughts to sound a little more linear and coherent, I'm able to work through my problem. But seeking psychiatric help is best thing I can really offer, especially if you don't necessarily have a reason behind your sadness or self hatred. If it's gone on longer than two weeks, seeking help from someone you trust in addition to a licensed professional soon would be in your best interest
