Chapter 10 " The forbidden darkness lies within " Misuki curled up on the couch that night. Being careful not to turn her shoulder the wrong way for fear of reopening the wound that was nearly healed. Hazel remained cuddled in her arms, sleeping peacefully with her head on the girl's left breast. The conversation at dinner just two hours before was dry and stiff. She could sense the tension between Hiro and Kaiko. Her green eyes saddened, " It wasn't supposed to be like this. ", She mumbled softly to herself. Running her fingers through Hazel's fur gently. A hallow voice whisper blew by her ear, startling her out of her thoughts. Her guard went up immediately, eyes wide open and gazing around her. She felt the icy chill run down her spine. Breaking out in to a cold sweat. Something was clearly wrong. Hazel stirred with a big yawn and stretched out. She peeked up at Misuki and tensed. Growling softly at something she could feel near by. No stroking of the fur or gentle words could sooty her anxiety. She scampered off to hide under the couch. The young girl turned slowly around. Not expecting to be slammed in to the wall by a unseen force. A gasp escaped her, words at a loss on her tongue. She lifted her head, only to be thrown to the other side of the room by her hair. A strangled scream released from her mouth. He was at her side within seconds. Gun hoisted out and pointed in the opposite direction. Amber eyes glaring at the being he could not see, " Misuki! Are you alright? ", He inquired as he tilted his head to glance at her worriedly. She nodded her lowered head and gripped her shoulder with a cringe. Her shoulders went rigid and eyes wide, as Hiro was thrown in to the living room tv on the opposite side of the room. She slowly crawled over to him once he landed. Reaching hesitantly out to him, " Hiro..", she whispered to his unmoving form. A shiny black boot heel slammed down on her wrist, " Where do you think your going? You have your own problems to worry about. ", The voice sneers out, dragging her across the floor by her hair. Misuki screamed and clawed at the inhuman hand yanking her by her long raven colored hair. Her scalp burned and she felt a head ach forming behind the back of her eyelids. The sound of rushed footsteps sounded from the hallway to her right. She looked up from having her face pressed in to the ground. Her blue eyes locking stares with Kaiko's confused one. Aerial grinned at Kaiko and pulled his black Mage out, pressing the tip to the middle of Misuki's throat, " Well well...what do we have here? Dead silence decides to join in the fun? I knew you'd come around. ", He snickered horribly and licked Misuki's cheek with a long black tongue sneaking out of his mouth. Kaiko curled her lip in anger, " What the hell are you talking about?! Who are you and what the hell are you doing in my apartment! Release her and get out!! ", She shouted at Aerial, fists clenching at her sides. Aerial's grin grew wider, " Oh you haven't told them yet. Well now dears, here goes the story of poor Dead Silence, or as you call her Kaiko. She works for the devil, she's his right hand man. She had you all fooled didn't she? She's learning well to cover her own tracks. ", He said and began cackling with mirth glittering in his black eyes. Kaiko charged at Aerial and tackled him to the ground. Knocking him off Misuki, black Mage rammed in to Kaiko's side. Her wound reckoned itself as quick as it was made. The blonde rammed her heel in to Aerial's eye and forced him to kiss the ground with her heel spinning around to connect with the back of his head. Misuki sat up slowly and forced herself to scoot away from the fight. She rubbed the back of her hand across her cheek to clean the saliva from her skin. A warm hand layed over hers. Startling her, she looked up and gazed in to amber eyes. He placed a finger over his lips to silence her. She moved closer to him and turned her head to peer at the fight. Hiro grabbed his gun on the ground a foot away and aimed it at the two fighting on the ground. His finger pulled the trigger back and squeezed the trigger. A yelp echoed off the walls.
Chapter 11 " Secrets withheld " Aerial snarled at Kaiko who pinned him down with her weight and an elbow shoved in to his throat. He yelped out as the bullet pierced his right rib cage. He threw his closed claw toward and rammed his knuckles in to Kaiko's jaw. Kicking her off swiftly after she lost her balance slightly. His bare rib cage which cracked open and exposed flesh and bone. Closed up like brand new. He flipped on to his feet with ease. Eyeing Misuko who stumbled over to Kaiko's side to check on her. He heard the click of a gun and forced himself to the ground, rolling behind the couch. The bullets rained on the couch without so much as a break in between. That is until the bullets ran out. Kaiko brushed off Misuki's hands from her shoulders. Sitting upright while glaring at the couch. There was fire blazing in her angry rain colored eyes. Blonde hair falling around her and framing her face. Hazel ran out from under the couch, dodging a claw reaching for her. She made a head start towards Misuki. Nearly reaching the girl, but her run was cut short. Black Mage slammed down in the tiny creature. Pinning it to the wooden floor by its head. Blood splattered around the area by it and on Misuki's hands and cheeks. The young girl had knelt down with her arms out stretched to catch Hazel. But the victory was short lived. Misuki leaned forward on her knees. Eyes open wide in shock, tears glistening in her dark green gray eyes. A whimper left her lips followed by a sharp scream. She swept the bloody animal up in to her arms after yanking the sword out of its head. The sword scorched her hands, which she ignored and tossed to the side. Her hands stroked Hazel's fur, fingers gently closing open and scared eyes. Tears fell one by one, mixing with the blood dripping through her fingers. She held the animal to her chest, "Hazel..", She whimpered and held her tighter, tears streaming from her face. Hiro watched Misuki with a unreadable expression, he felt sorry for her. He knew she had grown close to the animal. It happened much too quick for any of them to help the defenseless squirrel. He pulled a pack of bullets out of his back pocket and reloaded his gun. Kaiko tugged on the young girl's arm gently, " Let her go, we need to get out of here now! ", She said hurriedly, trying to get her to move out of her stunned trance. Aerial jumped out from behind the couch. He pounced on the two females that struggled with each other. Knocking Kaiko in to Hiro, who had to put his gun down in surprise to not shoot Kaiko in the back. His lips curled back, sharp white teeth bared. His claw grabbed a fistful of Misuki's hair. Pulling her across the floor with him, he lunged towards the living room window and smashed through it like paper. A few screams followed, the angel and the demon falling out the window. Hiro gently lifted Kaiko off him and ran towards the open gap in their living room. He turned swiftly on his heel and ran out the front door. Kaiko hot on his heels once she forced herself back up. Hiro slipped a few times going down the steps. Grunting when Kaiko lost her footing and fell in to his back. He righted his footing and hers, both moving to get to the streets. They skidded to a stop in sync, eyes widening. Aerial's black wings expanded out, Misuki dangling from her hair. He cackled and swatted away her attempts at throwing hits in his direction. A black fire ball appeared in his other claw. He shoved it in to her stomach and shoved his claw further out. Shoving and forcing the girl down several hundred feet from the mid air towards the ground. A loud crunch was heard. Then screams. Misuki lay still on the hard jagged street. Hair all around her, eyes half open and lifeless. Blood seeped out from behind her head and neck, where Aerial clawed her. Hazel's lifeless body rolled a feet feet away from her and came to a stop by Hiro's shoes. He picked the animal up and gently set it aside from the chaos. Aerial held the hilt of his black Mage in his hand. Stepping in front of Misuki's body, " Tsk tsk tsk. That is as far as you will get boy. Now, it's time to go. ", He said menacingly, black eyes glaring invisible holes through Hiro. " MISUKI!!!!!! ", He yelled as he stared past Aerial at the girl's body. He reached behind him to get his gun out. A hand grabbed a hold of his wrist, stopping him. He turned his head to gaze at her in surprise. " Don't make this harder. Your destiny has arrived, it's time you fulfilled it. Please come with me ", She said softly to him, her hand reaching over to rest on his cheek. She gazed at him sadly, watching his expression turn from hurt to anger. " Kaiko?!! You were in on this?! I-I trusted you!! Misuki is dead now!!! ", He yelled at her in anger, shoving her hand away from him. He took a step away from her and glanced over at Misuki again. She didn't move. Kaiko frowned at him and lowered her head, " I'm sorry Hiro, I really am. I never expected to fall in love with you like I did. Please don't look at me differently..I'm still the same person..being..", She replied back to him and tried to get close but he pushed her away. Aerial cackled as he watched the scene unfold. The air around Misuki's body picked up and swirled around her like a tornado. Aerial stepped away from her with a scowl and look of confusion.
Chapter 12 " Who we've become " Aerial was stunned in to silence as he was blasted in to a building a good distance away. His shirt and pants nearly disintegrating by the ice blue blast sent in to his body. His sharp teeth clenched together and a growl escaped him. Black wings cracking under the force of power laid in to him. Kaiko shifted her attention from the direction Aerial was blasted in, to the now white winged angel standing just a few feet away. Her blue eyes narrowed and her blonde hair turned to a pitch black color. Midnight black wings grew from her back. Blue jeans and red halter top shifting in to the regular black and white demon uniform. Misuki stood up to her full height, no longer slouching down to catch her breath. Her white wings stretched out, hazel eyes having changed to ice blue to match her hair. She lowered her hands, her gaze moving to look at Hiro and Kaiko. Hiro watched her in surprise, eyes drifting from the top of her head to the tip of her shoes. He admired the tight white pants that clung to her slender legs. And the white jacket that covered her pale blue silky blouse beneath. Her feet covered by white high heeled boots. He never thought that he would ever be stuck in the middle of a battle. Let alone between a demon and an angel. He turned his head and gazed at Kaiko's form. Her uniform hugged her in all the right places, she remained stiff and tensed. His attention immediately shifted to the cold stares the two women were sharing with each other. His lips turned down, shoulders tensing up. He knew he was part of what they fought over. It still confused him as to why. He was a regular guy who knew how to fight and had to work odd jobs. A black fire ball wizzed past his head towards Misuki. It was sent back with a blue blast from the younger angel. The two women charged towards one another, kicks and blasts being exchanged. Hiro stumbled back a few steps, " Hn..", He shifted his weight to his left foot, hand moving to grab the hilt of his gun. He knew what sides they stood on. But that didn't mean he had to be involved. Although either way he was, those two meant something to him, or did. Kaiko landed a kick to Misuki's stomach and rammed a fire ball to her chest. She flew after her and went to kick her in the cheek. Her kick was blocked by an arm, a round house kick was sent at Kaiko's throat. The demon fell back a few paces, her long fingernailed hand grabbed at her throat. Hiro stepped in the middle of the space between the two, " That's enough! Stop this now! ", He yelled at them, ignoring the tension escalating. Misuki frowned at him and glared at Kaiko, " The fight is inevitable. The war between heaven and hell has commenced. No matter what our feelings are about it. We are destined to fight. I'm sorry for putting you through this, and I apoligize for not being able to tell you who I really am. I fight for god, and the people on earth who dare to dream and want to live their lives. ", She responded softly to his shout of frustration. Kaiko growled low in her throat, " Hiro, please come with me. Don't listen to this nonsense she speaks. This world has already set it's fate, there is no turning back for it. Heaven just wants control of it. ", She said with malice, moving around Hiro to throw a few punches at Misuki who flipped back and blocked each hit. To be continued..
Chapter 13 " The choices we make " Hiro watched the two women exchange hits. He was still in shock of everything that took place. His thoughts were a jumbled mess and he couldn't quite make out what was going on exactly. Although he knew he would have to step in regardless. Aerial came at Hiro from the side. Claw closing around the human's throat, " Dead Silence! Lets go now! I have him! ", He yelled at him partner in crime. Only when he was kicked in the face and sent sprawling out on to the road. Did he stop to think of his next move. Misuki blasted Kaiko head on in to Aerial, " Hiro!!", She called to him and held out her hand. Her ice blue eyes gazing at him with concern. She held Hazel in one arm, keeping her hand out to him, " We're trying to save this world from destruction! We need you're help! ", She said in reply to his confused and lost expression. Just as Kaiko went to make a grab for him. Hiro reached out and grabbed Misuki's out stretched hand. He was pulled close and forced in to the sky. Wind blasted in to his face, and the air in his lungs started to dissipate. Misuki ignored the howls of pure rage from the two demons following after on wings made from the devil himself. She kept Hiro close, wings transporting them at 70 miles per hour, " Hold your breath, when we break through it will be alittle hard to breath at first. Take feel breaths when we land. ", She whispered in his ear, over the loud howling of wind whipping past them. Kaiko barely reached them before they got close enough to heaven's barrier. She grabbed on to Hiro's ankle and pulled down hard, " We had him first!! Get lost you pitiful excuse for an angel!, " She snarled and continued pulling. Misuki winced at the heaviness pulling them back down against her wings's will. Moving her hand out, she sent an ice blast at Kaiko. Sending the demon flying back down at an unsuspecting Aerial. Hiro clenched his jaw, a small noise sounding at the back of his throat. Closing his eyes tight, he bit his bottom lip and prayed they would land soon. Misuki jolted through heaven's barrier with him. Wasting no time to go through the opening golden gates to their freedom. She set him down on a large rock next to a beautiful blue sparkling pond. Hazel was laid down next to the pond by Hiro's feet. The young angel cupped some of the pond water in her hand. Allowing it to drip from her palms on to the squirrel's unmoving body. Hiro tilted his head, breathing uneven and heart still ramming against his chest, " Misuki, what are you doing? She's dead. ", He said and rested his hand on her shoulder. He was startled from his hazy thoughts were interrupted from the squirrel slowly moving. He leaned in for a closer look. Amazement on his face and mouth open slightly in shock. Hazel sat up slowly, tail twitching as if to test it. She released a big yawn and looked around her curiously. As her eyes landed on Misuki. She jumped forward on to the girl's arms, snuggling against her breasts. Misuki giggled happily at her pet, " I'm so happy your alive again Hazel. I thought I would lose you forever my dear friend. ", She whispered to the squirrel, stroking her ears. Turning her head to face Hiro, " The pond of life. It restores life when poured on an animal, creature or being. This must be protected at all times. ", She said softly to him and set the squirrel down before standing. Hiro stood up beside her, admiring the pond in aw, " Where are we Misuki? ", He inquired with confusion, eyes drifting to admire the mountains to the far right. So ever green grass beneath their feet, and a garden of flowers to the right. Heaven was nothing he imagined it to be. She followed his gaze to the tall lush mountains and closed her wings behind her back, " This is just the beginning of heaven. We have a long way to go to get to the middle of it. I promise it won't take long. You need rest. ", She said in a motherly tone and brushed her hair out of her tired face. Trekking forward in the opposite of the mountains, she led him quietly. Hazel bounced happily beside them, nibbling on a few flowers and leaves here and there. She would be sure to keep him away from the area where the battle raged. A white feather snuck out of her wings. The light breeze carrying it behind, brushing past Hiro's cheek. He looked up at Misuki's back, still in disbelief that she was in fact an angel. She was fighting for the greater good.
