I sighed. I looked towards the bulletin board outside of the student services room. It usually said who made it into which universities. I had been accepted into the University of Virginia, I had received the letter last week, but my eyes narrowed towards the name: Dante Ingram... "What...?" I said quietly. My heart throbbed as I noticed where he got in. Harvard. Harvard law school. "Armeria?" My head shot up at the sound of his voice and I turned around to meet Dante's gaze. But he soon turned away as if he were ashamed of something? Or even regretting seeing me... "Dante...?" "Sorry, I have to go," he said and he turned to leave. "No! Don't!" I said and I grabbed his arm. "Don't leave... Tell me what's wrong! Why are you so upset?" I asked. "Is it about Harvard? Are you unhappy about that?" I said quietly. "It's none of your business," he said and he brushed me off. As he walked away I felt a rush of what seemed like irritation. "Hey! It is my business!" I called after him. "After all... I am in this relationship too!" I said quiet annoyed. He turned and he looked at me as if he were surprised and I only stared back, unable to say anything. "Is that it?" he asked. Suddenly a pain arose in my chest. What was that? What was up with his attitude? "Yes. That's it..." I said quietly. "Good," he said and he turned back around and left. That was all he said... What was wrong with him...? I felt as if I had been rejected. His actions toward me felt as if there was now a large space between us. I hated that feeling... I was worried. "Is something wrong, Armeria?" I turned to see Kendra. I shook my head. "Nope. I'm fine... Anyways, how are you and Mr.Klein?" She blushed. "We're good... of course we're still taking things slow..." "Still?! It's been a year already! Show him how much you care for him, and things will pick up, I'm sure!" I cheered her on. Her face still bewildered me. She looked extremely unhappy about something. "What happened?" She looked up and then she looked away from me and sighed. "He just... He asked me something in which I wasn't ready to respond to." My heart flipped inside my chest. "What exactly did he ask you?" I asked, though I had an idea. "He... wants to marry me. Once I graduate... It's not illegal, but I still feel young, you know?" My eyes widened and I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Marriage?! It was what I expected, but I hadn't actually considered I twas true! It took a moment for the shock to settle. "Marriage?" She nodded. "Of course I'm happy about it... I've loved him for so long... I've loved him throughout my entire high school life, but... I don't know..." "Take some time to think about it. I'm sure you'll know the right decision when you're ready," I said smiling at her. "Just take your time and you'll be fine," I said and I hugged her. "Okay..." she whispered. Marriage... Once she said that, my mind began to fill with thoughts of Dante... Would I end up... marrying him? Wow... such a difficult thing to think about...
