I sat with Dante in the park the next day. We were skipping school... We held hands and remained silent... it felt awkward... "Is something wrong?" he asked. "No... I'm just thinking." He smiled. "And what are you thinking?" he asked me and he squeezed my hand a little. "About how I feel for you..." "And what do you feel for me?" he asked. A smirk spread across his face. "I... I like you..." He frowned. "Oh... I knew that," he said quietly. He was upset and I could see that perfectly. Damn... I really was a terrible person wasn't I? "I'm sorry." "What for?" he asked. "For not being able to say 'I love you' to you yet," I said looking at the ground. "Is that what you're worried about?" he laughed. He pulled me close and held me to his chest. "You idiot... You know I'll love you for the rest of my life, we have a ling time before you can say it. I can wait... I really can," he said and he lightly kissed my lips. Tears began to form in my eyes and I threw my arms around him. "Dante... You don't know how much I care for you..." "Haha, I know. I know just how much you care," he said and he kissed my forehead. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (omg so many timeskips! ) 1 year later... It was nearing the end of the third school year... It was now time to start choosing universities or colleges. I was struggling. "Where are you thinking of going?" I asked Dante. He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Erm... I don't really know yet... University of Virginia?" I smiled. "That's where I was thinking of going. I mean... There's really no where else I'd really want to go..." "What are you planning on doing?" he asked. "Art. Photography, to be specific." "Photography? I didn't know you had any interest... I could see you more as a strict teacher or principal..." he joked. "Oh shut up!" I laughed. "And yes... I have had an interest in photography for a few years now..." I said quietly. "Well I think it's a perfect Jon for you." "Haha, thanks," I said. "What are you interested in?" He frowned. "Nothing yet..." he whispered. "Liar. I can tell you're thinking of something. What is it? You can tell me! I won't laugh!" "My father... he wants me to go into the same line of work... as him and my mother." "A lawyer?" "Yeah..." "Why is that a bad thing?" I asked. "I'm sure you'll make a great lawyer!" He smiled a bit. "Yeah... thanks..." I smiled. Decisions. These decisions were ones that were the most difficult in life... but I knew he and I would get through them with no problem.
