Jake could hear the gasps as the rest of the men found out what he just had. "Run, but be silent!" Jake said to the men. They all began to climb down from the trees. The first ones down began to sprint in the opposite direction that the Maldorians were at. Jake did the same thing , staying with a group of three. They ran for miles and then kept on running . They were heading towards Gorian, for they had to tell the king what had happened. If they were to take to long , the Maldorians would have time to attack Gorian. "We can't make it there in a day." Jake said to the men. "We are going to have to set up camp." "You!" He said, pointing to one of the men." "Go collect some logs for a small shelter." "The rest of you collect firewood, or find a small clearing to make camp.Understand?" Mumbles of "Yes sir." ran through the group, and then they began to do as they were told.
Gold, that's what inspired me to write this But I'm gonna make it much different from The rangers apprentice later on
"Not bad men." Jake said. The camp wasn't bad, and could withstand heavy rain. They climbed into it and made temporary sleeping spaces. They weren't comfortable, but it would do. "We should be able to make it to Gorian by the end of tommorow." Jake said. "What if we don't make it?" A young member of the group asked. "Well...let's not think about that right now." Jake said grimly. They slept through the night , and woke right before dawn. Jake and the men erased all traces of them camping in that clearing. "Lets get moving." Jake said. They began to walk northeast, heading in the general direction of Gorian. They walked all through the day , and made good distance.By the end of the day, they were in viewing distance of Gorian. Sighs of relief came from the men. "Good work, I will make note of your courage." Jake said.
Jake and the men entered the city through the gates, exhausted. The city was spectacular, the buildings magnificently made. Shouts rang through the market as men and woman tried to barter with others. Jake grinned. "Just the same old Gorian." He thought to himself. Jake and the men walked up the steps to the castle. "Identification?" Asked a guard. "Jake Enning, First Class Ranger." Jake replied. "These men are with me." Jake said, nodding in the direction of the group. The guard nodded and let them pass, and Jake entered the castle. It was beautiful. Chandeliers of hung from the ceiling, and velvet carpets lay on the floor. There were steps leading to a golden throne , and on that throne sat an old man. He had scars on his face from battle, and was muscular for his age. "My lord." Jake said, bowing. "I am saddened to inform you tha-." "That our troops were lost in Maldor?" The king said."I am fully aware." "That makes matters much simpler than." Jake said.
