* I got home and slammed the door. I knew this was a mistake when my grandmother came hobbling into the hallway. 'What's wrong, m'dear?' She asked me, concern clear in her voice. 'Nothing,' I lied. I walked straight past her and up the stairs, towards my bedroom. I got in and locked the door behind me, walking straight to pick up the picture of my parents, propped up against the jewellery box on my desk. The young, ginger-haired woman and her blonde, male partner smiled at me through the picture. This was taken before they moved to Grantor. An idea suddenly came to me. I slammed the picture back down on my desk and rushed for my laptop, opening it and pushing the power button. I was getting impatient as it slowly turned on. I kept hitting the trackpad, as if that would speed it up. Finally, the desktop background appeared, and a picture of me and grandmother appeared in front of me. I moved the mouse and pressed the 'Google Chrome' icon. The web page loaded quickly, and I moved the curser to the search bar, slowly typing 'Schools near Grantor'.
I looked at the words under the search bar. 'Five-hundred Results'. I scrolled past the ads to the links, and found a website for a small school called Grantor Manor Academy. I read through the details: Grantor Manor Academy is situated on Parry Hill, on the outskirts of the village. The school is a four-floor castle, and offers the finest education in the area. Students will enjoy a wide range of classes, such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Performing Arts, Graphic Design, Textile Design, Digital Imaging, Film, Maths, English, Advanced Maths* and Advanced English* *-Offered only to students of the highest grades. I stared at the screen for a while. I kept re-reading the text, it all sounded so perfect. I clicked on the 'Start Now' tab in the corner, and saw the most amazing sentence ever. I couldn't believe what I was reading. All education at Grantor Manor Academy is free.
