  6. Four years later...

    "Leigh-Ann!" screeched my mother.

"Yeah, yeah! I know!" I shouted bounding down the stairs. "I can make it to school under five minutes!"

"You have to be there in one minute!" she yelled.

"No problem!" I said grabbing a piece of toast off her plate. "I can make it on time!" I said and I ran out the door as quickly as I could.

It was the first day of school and school orientation was beginning in a few minutes. I was excited to be in eighth grade finally! It was my first year attending the elite and prestigious music school, Johann Arts Academy. I was happy to be accepted.

    "Look out!" shouted a voice.

I turned around but was instantly hit by a moving bike. I fell to the ground.

    "Owwie..." I groaned softly.

    "Ah! I'm sorry!"

I looked up to see a boy around my age. He had short brown hair and light green eyes. He had a baby face and he was actually pretty short. He was so... so...

    "Cute!" I said.

"Ehh?" he said kind of quietly. "What do you mean by 'cute'?" he asked.

"I mean you are so incredibly cute!" I said pinching his cheeks and blushing like some sort of pervert.

"Ah... that's not very nice," he said.

"Why not? I only complimented you," I said. "I really think you are!"

    "Well thanks but..."

"What's your name?" I asked him totally cutting him off.

"Umm... I'm Richard Penner... ninth grade..." he said.

"Ninth grade! Forgive me but you still look like you're in grade school! I'm Leigh-Ann and I'm in eighth grade!"

He sighed and frowned. "I get that a lot. Anyways what a pretty name you have," he said. He caught sight of my uniform and raised an eyebrow. "Oh... you go to JAA, too?" he asked.

    "Um... JAA?"

He pointed to his uniform then to mine. "Johann Arts Academy, aka JAA," he said.

I looked at his uniform color and logo. Oh... he was from the same school. I grinned.

"Yeah I am! Hey! Lets walk to school together!" I offered.

He grinned as well. "Haha, okay. I wouldn't mind walking to school with somebody for once."

"Haha, this is my first time at this school... I hope I make many friends here!"

"I'm sure you will. You're a lively one," he said. "And pure... but not as mature..." he said bluntly. "But you're cute, and I like that."

I blushed. "Ah haa... thank you."

    "Sure."

I think I was going to like this school... very much so. I was happy to be living such a great life so far!

  9. When we got to the school Richard and I noticed a posting on the bulletin board out front. He went over and read it.

"Hmm... A performance..." said Richard. "It seems as thought they will not be releasing the name of the performer..."

A surprise performer? I smiled. "It's a piano performance is it not?" I asked.

    "Yes it is."

"Ah I see. I love the piano very much. It's my dream to become an amazing and talented concert pianist and perform around the world!" I said.

He smiled. "So you are a pianist from the music department then?" he asked.

"Yes. What department are you in Richard?" I asked.

"Performing arts. I'm going to be an actor. But things haven't been going to well..." he said.

    "Why not?"

He laughed nervously. "Haha. I'm always cast as a female in almost every play. This Spring I will be playing Cathy in Wuthering Heights.

I laughed. "Aww... well I'm sure you'll make a fine Cathy."

    "What's that supposed to mean?!"

"Nothing!" I said and I ran towards the school. The school was beautiful. It was just as amazing as it was the last time I saw it... A prestigious academy...

    Half an hour later...

We were late... by at least fifteen minutes. Richard and I that is. But we hurried off to our classes as the orientation began.

"Welcome to a new school year! To start the year, we are welcomed by an amazing and talented musician. A pianist who started at a very young age and is known very well in various countries. Please welcome... Ian Ingram!"

My heart stopped. What...? Had he just said... Ian... Ingram?! The man I have been in love with for four years now?! The man who I thought I would never see again! Oh no... what was I going to do when I saw him... My heart beat so fast in my chest and I quietly and patiently awaited his appearance.
