I used to work in a kindergarten.. I’ve seen a few things happen.. 1) a drunk guy, entering our kindergarten while we were having a staff meeting, trying to steal stuff, got caught and kicked out, he returned few hours later, after we were gone.. set of the alarms, dropped/forgot his bags, police took him in for the night. 2) a homeless man, we discovered that he was living in the cellar underneath the kindergarten.. Police came and escorted him out. 3) a parent coming completely drunk and showing aggressive behavior, demanding to pick up their child, they were on the list of ppl who ABSOLUTELY couldn’t pick up the child. 4) a car who hit a bicycle-trailer designed for children to sit in, while 2 kids (age 2 and 4) were in it, then the car sped away from the kindergarten. The kids were alright, a bit shocked (like the rest of us... wtf?!) the guy was found quickly. 5) one time, we were eating lunch with the kids and the fire alarm went off (not a test) my group stopped eating, went outside as we were instructed to do, but the 2nd group didn’t come out.. 5 mins later, a firefighter came over to us and said we could go inside again, the fire was in the other end of the house (our kindergarten is placed in one end of a long building) and it was under control. Our boss was FURIOUS when she asked the teacher from the 2nd group, why they didn’t come out.. her reply was “we were eating lunch and didn’t feel like getting up” 6) Every day after lunch the big kids go outside for 1-2 hours while the small ones take a nap, unless it’s raining like crazy But one time we had to stop all the kids who were about to go outside and call all the kids, who were outside already, in again.. Turns out that in the building where the kindergarten is, there’s also some apartments for ppl with mental or health issues, and one of the ppl who lived there were standing in a window, about to jump from 4th floor.. They luckily got her back inside before she did anything. 7) a really emotional journey with a child’s newly born little sister who were diagnosed with cancer and had to start kemo when she was 2 weeks old or something like that.. There’s way too many stories about parents and children too But these are the first ones that come to my mind, not directly “clients” stories but weird anyway..
