  5. Chapter 3

    "MOM!" Zella screamed from her room.

    "What sweetie?" I said. Today was going to be tough, I could tell for some reason.

    "Don't come in my room!" She yelled.

    "Why would I?" I said back. I heard the door slam for the millionth time.

    After a couple hours, I went up to her room to tell her to go to bed. I knocked on the door. No answer.

    "Zella open up!" I said. Still no answer.

    I opened her door and she wasn't inside. Zella. I looked around and saw a party invitation decorated with ribbons and bows on her bed.

    She could have just asked me if she wanted to go.

    I walked back downstairs and let out a big sigh. I wish Zella trusted me. I rounded the corner into the family room. Forest was watching football.

    "Hey," He said when commercials went on.

    "Hey," I sat by him on the couch. "What's on the news?"

    He flipped to the news. Both Forest's and my mouths hung open.

  12. On the TV, the camera was on the ground, on it's side, as if the camera man had flung it on the ground. Forest and I could only see the peoples feet. They were running. It was absolute chaos.

    "What the?" Forest muttered. I didn't know what to say.

    We stared at the television, trying to make sense of the chaos.

    "Ellysa? Whats happening?" Forest said after a while. Fire was now spreading around the surrounding buildings. They usually did the news in the town park, not that far from here.

    I checked outside. Everything seemed completely normal. Then I turned back to the TV. There must be chaos just there. Or maybe it could spread to nearby neighborhoods?

    "Well what the heck?" I said. Forest was watching the TV, he was thinking.

    Then I saw it. A furry leg of a dog stepped in front of the camera. I could just barely make out a faint 3 on it's right shoulder.
