Re: 13 What?ImtheNurseTouchMe Well yeah Uranus is not pronounced that way but even in elementary school when we learned about planets all the kids laughed at that ones name because it's obvious. The only way I would imagine people not getting these innuendos is if English is their second language. Maybe I should have been sheltered more but i would have gotten all of them by age 13.

Considering I didn't have any overly sexual friends, and I was thoroughly convinced up until I was 18 that God impregnated my mother, and that is why I am a December 24th baby.

Why can't ATA set their own moral standard rather than moving to the lowest possible level set by a third party? Google's rating is utterly irrelevant. ATA is a principal in its own right, not an agent of Google.

Just bcuz Google was stupid enough to put that rating didn't mean ata had to go along with it. Apple has this app rated as M, ata could of kept the rules & followed Apples rating.
Agreed. Even ata (not so subliminaly) premote inappropriate behaviour. Such as the gifts with obsurd names. I can take a joke but there is no need when young kids play (before game age changed). Ata should have improved enforcement to prevent under 17s playing. Not reduced age requirement ? Also, online grooming is so bad on here. But going from that, I was reading hard romance novels by the time I was 12. Unless there's a picture of 2 people going at it like rabbits, this game is not deserving of an adult rating. Most kids don't read anyway, so why does it matter? And why is family RP a problem? I've done it before, and it was just like standard that person is mom, that is dad, and that's brother/sister. Now we're all in a house that's being overrun by hitmen. Protect yourselves. If you think all of it is incestuous, thats your own issue.
Okay...I see and understand both of these points now. I guess what I'm just wondering now is why does it matter if Google will rate it how they see fit and Apple as they see fit. Hardly anyone reads Terms of Use of anything when they download it. Personally, I just check the permissions and move on. Don't the Terms of Use only show up once you've already installed the game (or gone to the actual website)?
Nevermind my penultimate post. I just answered my own question by asking someone else. Well... Parents need to do a better job keeping up w what their 13 year olds are doing these days. When I was that age yes I was curious about certain things and wanted to be an adult sooner than I was ready. Parents with teenagers should know this and should have some overview as to what their kids are doing on the Internet. Unless it's an E rated game, they should have some familiarity with the game's content. If they choose to ignore that, or to not even get involved and let their children do whatever, then there's quite a bit of fault on their end that is being ignored.
I guess extending your argument, if ATA changed their TOU to allow 4 year olds to play, because their means of communicating their TOU are ineffective, that's ok too?
