  11. About 3 years ago ice cream nearly killed me & an overdose of pills saved my life. Was on meds that made me sleep-eat the ice cream, literally inhaled it, woke up in pain a couple hours later, went to swallow 2 pain pills & swallowed 35 of the ones that made me sleep-eat. Spent 3-1/2 weeks comatose & 4-1/2 weeks relearning how to walk, talk & feed myself. Had tracheotomy that got blocked up, that nearly killed me too. All this in 8 weeks. Worst hospital stay yet.

  12. I've been to the ER for different reasons throughout my life. All mysterious pains that started out of nowhere and kept me going to the doctor for years then would disappear still unsolved.

The only time I stayed overnight was after I had my first baby. Small town hospitals are so much better than city ones. It doesn't smell weird, the food is amazing, and all of the nurses are super nice. In the childbirthing unit, the bathrooms have huge tubs you can soak in as long as you like. It helped against the cold. When I wasn't in the tub they brought heated blankets every hour or so.

I probably would have enjoyed it if my abdomen wasn't threatening to explode every five minutes. And if I didn't have to pay $3000 for the visit alone. But yeah. That was my experience.

  13. I've been to hospital the once but it was more than enough for me.

I woke up late to take the little one to the school nursery, so i decided to save time i'd pop him up on my shoulders. As i was about to go up the curb on the pedestrian crossing. A car drove into us. By some miracle i managed to coccoon and keep my son aloft on my shoulders and he didnt get no stratches. Myself however. I busted my knee cap and tore all the ligaments and cracked my skull. I was rushed to hospital and had full body scans. Words can't express how petrified i was. Never again shall i walk down the street with my son on my shoulders.

  14. I broke my leg on a Mc Donald's playground when I was 7. Luckily it wasn't a compound fracture and I didn't need an open surgery. Still was put under anesthetic to RE place the bone in the correct position. Played computers in hospital so it was okay. Besides the food. Although one night the pressure of the cast on the back of my heal woke me and I woke the entire ward.. It was honestly the most painful sensation that only got worse, it took several doctors and 20minutes to figure out why I was screaming. That really got me angry!

Then when I was 13, I was playing netball and the courts were slippy and wet. I fell and cracked my head open, I ended up having multiple stitches and I was concussed. Stayed in hospital for a week as I was having severe headaches which later found out again was only pressure build ups. After that I was fine. Still the same deal with the hospital, just smarter staff.

Then when I was 14.. Oh my.. We were doing compulsory fitness tests (we did that in compulsory PE at the start of every unit). As I was doing the crunch test, some girls were struggling to bring across containers of equipment, they dropped one of the boxes, it fell from a small height but it weighed what felt like a ton when it landed on me.. I had an abdominal obstruction and internal bleeding if I remember correctly. I was hospitalized for a bit and I remember my pancakes were always soggy.

I was extremely prone to accidents as a child.

  15. Yup, I've had a left thyroid lybectomy (I believe I spelt that correct), and a surgery last June where I had to stay a day in the hospital that I won't mention here in forums.

  16. Goodluck with your surgery ahili fast recovery.

  17. When I had pneumonia I went to the hospital, the doctor asked me twice if I had to use the bathroom before they put in the IV. After they put it in I had to go and they got mad
