?Do you really not know the difference between a ten year and a seventy two year old? Developmentally?? Cognitively?? Maturity?? Life experience?? I don't think you should go around calling people ignorant my friend. Now the issue here is not depriving an adult of making a decision. We are talking about children. Now, it's probably okay for you and others to say let them be because they are not your kids. However, I would like to see you as parents stand by and let your child do that. If you see your child, who does not understand the consequences drugs have on the body, you as parents (good ones anyway) will try to stop them. It's parents job to educate their kids about life. The kids will grow up and decide for themselves if they want to live like their parents raised them. There. I am done with this conversation.
It's a "gateway drug" ya know? Next thing ya know they be doing meth and all sorts of other drugs. But who am I to say what crap people can put in their bodies? OP, do what ya heart tells ya. Ya know. YOUR ACTIONS CAN VERY WELL AFFECT THEIR FUTURE!!! THEIR LIVES ARE IN YO HANDS!!!!
Two things: 1) Realistically speaking, age means nothing in the eyes of maturity. I've seen little children be more responsible than an adult and vice-versa. Your point was jut nullified. 2) I never said the parent should do nothing. The children didn't deny it to him, so what makes you think they'd answer dishonestly to their parents? Their parents must not give a damn if they never asked. My parents always asked, regardless of if they thought I was actually doing something. Don't go arguing about who's the bad guy here. And also... Instead of two 10-year-olds smoking weed being messed up, someone asking for advice on what to do about it on PimD is a little bit more concerning. Drugs are just like taking Sex Ed. The class or knowledge about it doesn't make your more apt to do something. If you do something while having the knowledge, you were going to do it, anyway. Sure, alerting them is good, but they'd already have a mindset to doing it or not in the first place. Lastly: Kids do things illegally all the time, but it's not just children. You have your underage drinkers, smokers, pill-poppers, and numerous other things out there. No drug is less concerning than the next. It's your own outlook on the situation. Never said I was for it, nor against it. More major issues in the world to deal with.
I just hope none of you morons are ever parents. If you happen to have a child and you let them do whatever drug they fucking want at 10 or even younger, I'll be laughing at you when your kid's a crack addict doing nothing in their life but working for crack money
Okay, sure, kids have a right to experiment and all that. But there's a line. It's one thing when teenagers do it. Whole mother when a child still in elementary school is doing it. Sure, the substance isn't as bad as many out there. But a child who is still depending on their parents should not be smoking illegal substances. People act like ten years old is old in this newer generation, and it isn't. The kid is just a baby. He's still got recess. And if he's moving onto middle school, he's still not old enough. Some of you may not agree with me, but I wouldn't let a fifteen year old smoke it, yet alone a ten year old. A child at that age should still be innocent. You should tell the child's parents. They have a right to know. It's their duty to decide the consequences for the child. If it were me, I would have been calling the police because that isn't properly raising a child. If the parent knows this happens, he should be stripped of his child. That's all I have to say about this.
Whole 'nother.* I apologize if there are any typos, I'm at work and typed that out as quickly as possible.
Tell it's a gateway drug soon there gonna be doing worse trust me my friend died from drugs and he started with weed and it got worse and it's not ok to experiment you can mess up your whole life and he's in elementary school! Tell!!
The fact that you babysit them and you let them smoke weed says a ton about your character. What else do you let them do?
The responses on this thread is the very reason why I hate people and why society is such a cluster cluck In what world is watching a few elementary kids smoke weed ok? In what world does 10 years old, smoking weed and "let them be kids" belong in the same sentence? I don't know about some of you, but when I was 10, I watched cartoons and begged my mom to let me outside to play with friends. "Let them be kids" I'd tell the parents and if the parents don't do anything, I'd call social services for neglect. They are 10, not 17. If they're that young smoking weed, I'd hate to see what they'll be doing at 15.?
