Sorry I haven't updated in a while guys, my Dad has been in hospital and I'm the only child who lives close enough to visit him.I'll try and update soon, though.
Update! ???????????????? Chapter Three We leave tomorrow, but I can't sleep. Carl decided to stay with us tonight, but mainly to keep my company. He is awake, too. He won't fall asleep until I have. We lie there, side by side, facing each other, but not talking. Silence. I only hate silence when it's between me and Carl. I can't stand it. I should get up, move around. Maybe it will make me feel better. I unzip my sleeping bag, and walk outside. It feels nice to stretch my legs. I sit down, with my knees up to my chin, my arms wrapped around my legs. I sit there for a while, thinking about what my challenge could be. After a while, Carl emerges from the tent, and sits beside me. I rest my head on his shoulder. "Scared?" He asks me. Danny told Carl everything. About all of us, about our journey. I shake my head. He chuckles, then puts his arm around me. It feels nice. Just me and Carl. Doing nothing. "Claire," Carl begins. "This place you're going. Is it dangerous?" "Sort of," I reply. "OK," he takes a deep breath. "Be careful, alright? I don't want to lose you." At that last sentence, I turn and face him. His face is red, so I press my palm to his cheek. He puts his hand over mine. I drop my hand. Now it's getting strange. Like there is a space between us, and it's being filled. Carl is filling it. And I'm right, because now he'a coming closer to me. He takes my hand and pulls me so that I'm standing. He smiles. Suddenly, his lips are against mine. It does feel weird, but I don't pull away. I wrap my arms around his neck, and pull myself up. I'm too short. He lets go, then smiles at me. What do I do? Smile back? I return his smile. We stand there for a few minutes, arms wrapped around each other. His body is so warm, I can't let go. "Claire?" He says. "Yes?" "I love you," "I..." I stammer. "Um..." ???????????????? ?Yes, I know it's short. But yeah... Cliffhanger! Quiz Time! If this was turned into a film, who would you cast as Claire?
