••••Update•••• I think Preston and I surprised people in school the next day. We walk in together, laughing, smiling and talking, side by side in the hallway. Remember the Oliver Dan club? Well, they are officially the Preston fan club now. Their glares are like needles trying to stab my body until I die. Jealous much? On the other side of the hallway are the guys. They don't have a fan club, but their eyes go directly to Preston. They aren't glaring at him like the girls are glaring at me; they look rather... confused. Preston is either really oblivious to these murmurs or he's ignoring them, either way, he's still smiling with me. I stopped dreaming about Oliver last night; I didn't have a dream. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night, crying, and then waking up to run on the beach. I slept peacefully through the night, sweat and tears not included. I don't know why the dreams have stopped, but I sure am glad they did. "You okay?" Preston stops me in the middle of hallway and looks at me. "Yeah... Why?" I say looking back and forth at laser-eyed girls and the confused-looking boys. "You seem... thoughtful. Daydreaming still?" he chuckles. "UHHH no! I'm just thinking about something else. Not Oliver though, I promise," I say with a smile and tug his arm to continue walking. "Slut," the fan club hisses at me. Woah, what? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I get through the first three classes of the day with ease. Not daydreaming about Oliver is probably one of the best feelings in the world. I have replaced my thoughts with Preston though. I think about yesterday and how real he is with me. I think about what we talked about at Bruxie and his sympathy for me not being able to move on. I think about what he said on the balcony and how insecure he feels around me. I think about what my mom said to me yesterday, and the more I think about what she said, the more I think it's true. I walk into the cafeteria and sit down with my lunch at my usual table. Preston and I do sit together with no one else. The two tables away to the right are the fan girls that glare at me and two tables away to the left are the group of guys with confused expressions. So basically, all eyes are on us. Preston doesn't seem to notice, but of course, I do. "Ter! Hey!" Preston calls and waves at me. "Hey," I blush a little causing murmurs from the fan girls. "What do you have for lunch today?" he asks, his eyes twinkling. "Ummm. Leftovers from yesterday," I smile. "Lucky! Your mom is such a great cook!" he says really loudly, causing the fan girls and fan boys to look at us. "You can come over again," I whisper and give him a small smile. "Why are you whispering?" he says loudly, once again, "and I'd love to come for dinner again!" "Shhhh. Don't be so loud," I whisper. "What? Why should-," he starts. "Excuse me," Brielle Parker walks up to our table with her two followers, Fiona Gabrielle and Nikki Reynolds. "You're excused," Preston smirks rudely. She ignores his snide comment and turns to me, "Who do you even think you are?" "In case you didn't know, I'm Terissa Lennox. And you are?" I say rudely. "I'm Bri-," she says. "No one of particular importance is correct," Preston shoots back. She ignores him again and turns to me again, "You have tons of nerve to be talking to me like that, you hoe." "Since when was Terissa used in the garden! What?!" Preston says sarcastically. She ignores him the third time and continues looking at me with her gaudy make up, "First you take Oliver and now him? That's a little slutty don't you think?" "I dated Oliver and Preston and I are friends. Calm yourself. Besides, if Preston liked you, wouldn't he try to talk to you a little more than spending ALL his time with me?" I brag. "And Terissa's not a slut. She's actually far from it. And you're the sluts compared to her! Have you seen Montana yet? Your skirts are so short! Real guys don't dig that. If you're looking to get laid, dress like that, if you're looking for a relationship, I wouldn't dress like that. But that's just MY opinion," he laughs and humiliates them. "Well she stole you away!" Brielle blushes and says quickly. "Stealing is not the right term," I say, "he chooses to hang out with me and I choose to hang out with him. Stealing is taking something that doesn't belong to you. Since when is Preston yours? I haven't seen you talk to him before." "Yeah she's right. You like drool during class watching me and it's really fucking creepy," Preston shudders, "Just stop; don't bother Terissa anymore and don't bother trying with me. I like someone else already." The three girls run away, in tears and don't look back, "Were we too harsh on them?" "Nah. They deserved it," I laugh. "I heard them call you a slut this morning. So obnoxious and annoying," Preston rolls his eyes. "They seem to like you," I smirk at him. "Yeah, but I don't like them," he laughs disgustedly. "I can tell," I smile and crinkle my nose. "I like -," he starts. "YO. Preston! My man!" Hunter Garrison walks up with his pants-sagging crew. "Uh hey?" he says awkwardly. "Hello to the lovely lady," he twitches his eyebrows like a creepy pedophile. "What are you doing here?" Preston demanded, irritated. "I wanted to tell you, my man, that you can't take all the girls in the school! It's not fair! You leave none for the rest of us!" he complains. "What? I'm not taking any of them," he blinks confused. "They all love you," he says sarcastically and then in a girly voice, "Preston is so dreamy! Preston is so hot! Preston Preston Preston. And you took the prettiest of them all," Hunter says holding my chin up with his knuckle." "You jealous?" Preston smirks. "You wanna get beat up?" he eggs on. "Even if you punch me to death, I'll still be better looking than you. Besides, how're you going to chase after me if you'll trip on your own pants?" he laughs wickedly, "don't waste my and Terissa's time. Deuces." We walk away from the fan girls and the fan boys. I'm so surprised that Preston stood up for the both of us; that sarcasm and that nerve is something I never experienced before. "Sorry about before... I sounded pretty rude," he smiles sheepishly. "It was funny!" I giggle and we walk in the hallway going to free period. "I'm glad you're smiling," he smiles and bites his lip. GAHHHHH. So hot... Stop Terissa... You're not a fan girl.. I say to myself. "Oh thanks," I giggle a little and blurt out, "you make me smile." As I'm blushing he laughs and stops me in the middle of the hallway, "You're so awkward." "Thanks," I mumble. He holds my head with his hands, "And extremely beautiful." "I didn't know the two could be a combination," I awkwardly laugh. "Well, it's unique, all right. Come on, let's go," he says intertwining his fingers with mine and pulling me to run. I follow him and we run down the hallway, laughing and holding hands. We arrive at the library door smiling at each other. I push down the handle to enter, but Preston's hand stops me. "What do you say... We ditch the last two periods?" he asks mischievously. "I don't know, Preston... Will we get in trouble?" I say innocently. "It's only gym and free period. We're not missing anything important," he persuades. "You're right..." I say and smirk, "let's go!" •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We run out of the school laughing and holding hands. I dump my bag into the backseat of his car and sit up front with him. He climbs in the driver's seat and starts the car. "Where to?" he smiles adorably. "Hmmm. Anything!" I grin. "Let's go to the pier and have Ruby's!" he says speeding away. The pier at Huntington Beach is not like your normal, pier. In fact, it's quite boring. There's nothing to do on it, but walk to the end. The end is a large diner called "Ruby's" and they serve practically everything; from sandwiches to soups, to ice cream and pie, it's amazing. The waitresses are cute too! Their uniforms are red and white checkerboard dresses with a white collar and a small crown that says "Ruby's". This Ruby's is a sit in on the opposite side and it also has a small window to order your food on the side we are on. "We'll have two Cookies and Creme milkshakes, please," Preston smiles at me and orders into the small window. I see the waitress frantically run into the kitchen to have those made. We sit down on a nearby bench waiting to have out number called. "Want to go to the beach after?" I ask Preston. "I thought you'd never ask!" he smiles brightly at me. "We met here, didn't we?" I chuckle a little remembering our awkward meeting. "Yeah, I was so humiliated!" Preston blushes, "I made you fall!" "It's okay; it's my fault. I couldn't see anyone," I say without expression. "Why not?" his face turns from happy to upset. "I was crying about Oliver and how we met," I say strongly and force a smile in the end, "but he doesn't matter anymore. I like someone else." "Oh... You do? You never told me who it is!" Preston pretends to smile. Ummm maybe because it's you, you idiot, I thought to myself. "Order number 75! Two cookies-n-creme milkshakes!" the waitress calls. Preston and I walk up to get our milkshakes and back down the pier. We finish our milkshakes by the time we reach the end and walk over to the beach. The walkway is pretty much deserted; not many people are off work yet. The beach is pretty empty as well. The weather is getting colder, and people don't tan in the cold. We kick our shoes off and run into the sand. The wind is blowing, so the running is really difficult, but Preston helps me. We decide not to freeze to death by going into the water, and just say on the sand instead. We sit down watching the calm waves hit the moistened sand. "This is beautiful," I smile. "Ditching isn't such a bad idea, huh," he smirks at me. "No, it isn't," I sigh realizing he's right. BEEP BEEP! I see a beach patrol vehicle speeding towards us and honking at us to move out of the way. Apparently, we're sitting on their track. "Terissa!" Preston yells and pushes us out of the way just in time. We roll down the hill a little bit and somehow, we both end of laying down side by side. "Terissa," Preston hisses, "are you okay?" "Yes," I breathe heavily, "thanks to you." I stay there in the sand laying down and breathing heavily. Preston gets up and crawls near my head. He looks down on me, looking at me upside-down, smiling. I smile back at him and he lays the rest of his body down making his head inches away from mine. "I'm glad you're okay," he whispers to me. "I'm glad you're okay," I silently laugh. Suddenly, with an impulse, I lean up and kiss his left cheek, "I'm sorry." "What was that?" he blushes, "don't you like someone already?" "You're such an idiot," I whisper and smile at him. "How?" he says innocently. "Oh my gosh.. You're kidding right?" I laugh. "About what?" he smirks. "I like you... Preston," I whisper and blush. "Terissa... I..." he says sadly, "I don't feel the same way." "Oh..." I blush and feel the pain in my stomach. "I'm kidding!" Preston smiles and laughs. "I seriously hate you," I say slapping him gently across the face. "I'm sorry," he whispers. "Don't scare me like that again," I roll my eyes. "I like you too," he whispers; I feel his soft breath on my skin, "date me." "Is that a question or an order," I whisper and smirk at him. "Hmmm both!" he laughs silently and leans in more. Our lips touch into a real kiss this time. His soft lips fit perfectly with mine like they're made for each other. His kiss is so different than any other I have received. It's gentle and warm; it makes my insides turn into liquid. We both release at the same and smile at each other for the longest time ever until I break the silent. "Yes," I whisper. "Yes what?" he asks. "I'll date you," I smile and our lips meet again. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Sorry I didn't post yesterday! I was really sleepy . Here we are. FINALLY RIGHT?
