  1. I need two more people to bump this 

  2. We walked through the alleys. I followed Arthur with no clue of where we were going. I heard a crash coming from the shadows behind me. I turned round, my hand reaching towards my crossbow again. I heard more scrambling, then I saw 2 figures. I aimed my crossbow at them and got ready to shoot, but then they came out into the light. It was a boy and a girl. The boy looked about a year older than Arthur, and the girl looked a a year younger than me. 19 and 16. The girl was human, and the boy looked human too. But there was something... Different about him.
I walked over to them, my crossbow still raised. The boy helped the girl get up, but when he turned round to see a crossbow almost touching his nose, he seemed quite relaxed about it.
"Oh hello. Where did you come from?" the boy asked, casually pushing the crossbow away from his face. His voice sounded different, like he had an accent. But it wasn't like any accent I had heard...
"We could ask you the same thing." growled Arthur to my surprise. The two newcomers looked very similar. They were probably related. There was definitely something out of the ordinary about the boy, but I couldn't put my finger on it...
I looked at the girl, who was staring at me and Arthur like we were circus freaks. Arthur and the boy were still talking.
    "Well I asked first."
    "So what?"
"I asked you first so I get an answer first."
"Fine. We came from down there. We were just walking back into the village when you two fell off a wall and we thought you were going to attack us. Now tell me where you came from and who the hell you are."
"Going to attack you!?" the boy laughed.
"My name is Lucas. This is my sister cassandra, but I call her cassy for short. We came from... From..."
I wondered why the talking had stopped, and I looked up at them. Arthur was looking at Lucas, wondering why he had stopped talking. I wondered too, and looked at him. Then I realized he was staring straight back at ME.
As son as he realized we were making eye contact, he looked away, blushing.
    "Ermm... Uhh..."
I looked at Arthur. He had noticed too, and he was looking at Lucas with a surprising amount of annoyance in his eyes. I took a step away from them so Lucas would get the idea that I didn't want to have anything to do with him. Lucas noticed this and he looked away, looking slightly downtrodden. His sister, Cassandra was looking at the wall they had climbed over. I wondered why she had such a worried expression on her face. Then I remembered something I had noticed earlier.
"Lucas, your voice sounds different to anybody else's I have heard. You look slightly different too. By any chance are you--"
I was cut off by a loud CRASH!!!

  10. Someone or something had broken through the wall Lucas and Cassandra climbed over. Before the dust could settle so we could see what was there, we were running for our lives. I could hear Arthur and Lucas cursing and swearing, but the girl still stayed strangely silent. Lucas tried to shout above the noise and the rushing, but I only heard part of what he was saying to us.
"I forgot-- you that-- running from-- down here!!"
Still trying to figure out what he had said, I was pulled down into a side alley, out of harms way.
"what the hell was that!?" asked Arthur.
"I'm not sure, i haven't been able to get a proper look at it. me and Cassy have been running from it for ages. That's how we got here and met you. It's been chasing us for a very long time. I don't know why though. We thought we had shook it off..." replied Lucas.
"Well this might help." Arthur opened his bottle and poured rat pee all over Lucas. For some reason I don't think they will get along. I looked at Cassy. Her nose was wrinkled up in disgust, but she still hadn't said a word.
"Hey. I have something a little better than rat pee." I said softly to her, as if I didn't want to startle her. I sprayed her with some old perfume I had found. The perfume wasn't that nice and it smelled a little like rotting vegetables, but to me it was definitely better than the alternative. She gave me a small smile of thanks but still didn't say anything. I wonder what was wrong with her?
I decided to carry on with the previous conversation.
"So lucas, as I was trying to ask you earlier, you seem different. Are you pure human?"
"No I'm not. I'm surprised you noticed. I'm part elf."
I looked at him carefully. His ears were ever so slightly pointed, but the way his hair was arranged you would never notice it. His eyes had a few tiny flecks of silver in the sea of green which caught the light when he looked around. His voice seemed lighter than Arthur's and more easy going. The way he moved was different too. He seemed to be moving like he was weightless, like he could just jump up and fly away. He was probably very good at climbing. I guessed Cassy must have been part elf too. I asked Lucas, and he explained. When their mother was pregnant with Cassandra, she was attacked by a bloodlust a few days before the baby was due to be born. She was killed, along with their father, but they managed to save Cassy. Because of this, Cassy did not seem elfish at all, even though she had as much elf in her as Lucas. The attack had also made her unable to speak. Luckily she was not infected. Infact, being born from someone who had been attacked made her immune.
While Lucas told me all of this, Arthur had led us back to the village.
"I'm not entirely sure what chased us, but it wasn't a bloodlust. It was probably some sort if mutant." He said.
"yes. It was much too large to be a bloodlust." said Lucas. That was one of the first things I had seen them agree on.
"Do you guys have anywhere to stay?" I asked. Cassy shook her head. I couldn't just leave them out in the cold, but I don't have much room. The couch, spare bed and my small double bed would have to do. Looks like I'm going to have to share.
