Kronos is a character I only mentioned 5 times in the story, planning on extending the storyline. But I don't need him anymore. But if you look, it's Kronos vs. Glados somewhere in RoZ...
Promise kept: Reign of Zach ch. 2 The man opened his eyes. He looked around. Something was not right. He remembered a dark sky and the outline of Rio. Time... Around 2025. No flying cars yet. Technology was still very advanced for its time. As advanced as it will get for a while... At least 200 years. In 100 there will be barely anything left... In 200 years will be the recovery. "You're related to the Doctor, are you not?" said Syd. The man jumped. "I am the Doctor..." "Not the real Doctor. You wouldn't crash, and you'd be in the TARDIS." "Correct. I guess you've travelled with my father. I took his name. He's in his 13th regeneration, you know." "13? So... What's the next thing to happen?" "Unless he finds a way around it he'll die." "You're taking your own regeneration better than I figured." syd pointed out. The man's hands flew to his face. He hadn't even noticed the new features. Longer nose, shorter hair, smaller ears, eyes, nice, round chin, etc. His form had changed. All of it. His face, arms, hair, legs, body. Everything. That jump must have been a very harsh one for him to have to die a seventh time. Regeneration was his trick at cheating death. He changed every single cell in his body. But his memory stayed. "So we're carrying on with the original plan still?" asked Fletch "Yes. We're storming Zach. We may all die in the process, but we are the only ones left willing to actually fight..." said Roy "I can't participate though." said the Doctor "my revealing the information that I did about the future will cause enough damage. If Dad ever finds out..." "It's okay." said Syd "I kind of forced the answers from you. With the information you gave us, we can probably win this battle, or at least change history somehow. Now let us go and fight this battle." Fletch took the Doctor off to the side. Cy and Epic followed. "Tell me the truth, if you know. Just this one other thing: is Otto ever coming back?" "He's dead, is he not? I won't go back in time to bring him here, if that's what you're thinking. Let the dead bury themselves. I'm sorry, I really am. But according to history he does not come back." "History's lied before, why can't it lie now!" yelled Cy. "Now I don't know about that. Maybe most history has some sort of a lie or misinterpretation or something, but not mine. My history is flawless. But time can be rewritten. And I may have done this today. Hopefully Wolf Sec has not yet found out about me in Rio. If they do, we may all be dead." "We are stronger than you think. Not Zach level, but we're as strong as Otto was at least." "Which Otto? The overtaken version or the norm?" asked the Doctor. "Does it matter?"
Zach was getting impatient. He wanted a fight. A challenge. He doubted he would find one but he hoped for a good fight. If not, then he'd take it out on everyone. There will not be a single person left. He would kill them all. He sat, meanwhile, and read a book. He had decided that by the time he finished reading it he would unleash his wrath on the public. 789 pages left. Roy, Fletch, and the everyone else walked through the airport casually. They drew strange looks, of course, but that was expected, as they all had their faces hidden by a hood. They walked out like bosses, got into two cabs, and drove off towards their HQ in Washington DC. They walked in, eyes wide and mouths gaping open. This HQ was the biggest one yet!!! The building itself looked like a small, abandoned hotel room, but when you walk in, first thing you see are the huge pillars, and the bookshelves. Not just filled with books. There were DVD's CD's, and just about everything else. There was a couch, and, on the wall, with bookshelves around it, stood a huge, big screen TV. This was like heaven for everyone but the Doctor. It looked like there were enough rooms for 50 people, if not more. There were five stories worth. Amazing how magic could expand the inside of a first floor apartment into five different forms. The Doctor wondered if his father was somehow involved in the making of these places. The phrase "Bigger on the inside" was used a lot around his father. He felt something tugging at the inside of his brain. He was about to jump through time, as he liked to call it. He couldn't control it. "Hey guys? Excuse me!" he yelled. All attention was On him now. "Erm, so sorry, I'm not sure how much time I have to say this, as I'm about to go. You guys, good luck. Change our history for me!!! Well, mine wont be changed, but yours still can. So b~" and with that his body suddenly twisted unnaturally, and he was gone... "Well, when do we want to attack?" asked Roy "Let's plan a little before we go." said Fletch "But other than we should go right away. The sooner we win or lose the better. Agreed?" "Agreed" said Roy and Syd. "Agreed" said Epic and Cyber. "Agreed" said Tay and Sophie. And thus the battle sequence was made. First Roy and Syd(the most powerful) would fight Zach for as long as possible, drawing it out, hoping to exhaust him. Then Fletch, Cy, and Epic would go, and then, (hopefully it wouldn't come to that) Sophie and Tay. If it did come to them, the plan was to weaken Zach so much, that it would be easier to finish him off. This was the last resort. Their last hope. There was nobody else who could do anything. They were defenders of the Earth. Officially. They walked out of the hotel room, joking and smiling, looking way overconfident. Although back behind everyone's eyes there were traces of fear. And the smiles themselves never reached the eyes either. Never. The end was nigh. -A bit of an authors note: I originally planned to have demons and trolls and such as well. Cas was supposed to make an appearance as well, but I decided to shorten his timeline, and make it the Doctor instead. I didn't want it to become too long. Although I do Love Cas, believe me I do, but I doubt I could fit him in... Maybe in the SotS, although I doubt it... Sam, Dean and the Impala would have to be in it as well if I do that... Bobby too... So I probably won't...
They burst into the office. Zach was seated, reading a book. He held up a finger. "I only have 10 pages left. I want to finish this before our final battle." They sat down and waited. They all fidgeted. Fletch talked to Sam to pass up time. Roy and Syd were spending the last few minutes they may have had together snogging their heads off. Everyone else just sat there looking awkward. They were not looking forward to this. The Book slammed shut. Zach hurled it across the floor, and sat back. Then he took out a remote, and pressed a button. "Music?" he asked as Rock music seemed to come from everywhere at once. From the sound of it, it may have been Metal. Could be by Metallica. Roy moved fast. He moved behind Zach, and sent a blast of Darkfire to consume him. Then he sent light to counter the Darkfire, which created an explosion. After the initial explosion, Syd sent Elemental magic in Zach's general area. She heard it make impact. Another explosion. They repeated the process with increased power each time. After about an hour of this barrage, Roy went into the smoke to check on Zach. In the next minute, he flew out of the smoke, and hit the wall. Then a spear flew out of the smoke and buried it inside his stomach. Roy took a few coughs, spitting out blood, and then his eyes closed and his head limped forward, hitting the spear. Syd's expression of horror turned into one of anger. Elemental magic now surrounded her completely. She didn't care about her life, she wanted this abomination of a human gone. She ran, faster than she's ever ran before, grabbed the hem of Zach's burnt hood, still on, and jumped outside. She flung him to the ground, and punched him senseless. The man still bruised, and that brought her comfort, not a lot, but comfort was comfort. Then her eyes widened. She kept on punching, knowing it was useless, blood streaming out of her stomach and back where Zach's hand now was. The next punch she threw was simply blocked with his head. She felt her wrist snap, and saw, for the first time, the face under the hood. Hate overcame her. "YOU!!!! It was you that entire time!!" "Yes it was." He flung her, removing his hand from her stomach. He walked toward her, his gaze emotionless. He put the hood back up. Raised his sword. And slashed. A scream. A yell. And Epic was upon him, using regular fire. Zach laughed. Then looked surprised as he felt epic's level multiply. He tuned his own power to 100%, figuring he needed that to confront the 150% Epic was giving off. There was an explosion as the two men collided. It was even worse than a nuke going off. The blast could have been felt 2300 miles from them. The explosion itself was minimal, as Epic tried his hardest to keep casualties to a minimum, he sent all of his power up first, and then slamming into Zach. Epic walked out of the fight, very heavily wounded. His body was burnt. There wasn't a single piece of it that wasn't. He smiled. "I... Did it..." and fell to the ground, dead. Fletch, Sam and Cy ran to Epic's dead body. Then looked around. Zach was nowhere to be found. Possibly burned alive, possibly still alive. Who knew. No body, no proof. Sam started walking toward the deep crater. He stood there just staring at it for about 10 minutes. Then, in a matter of seconds(probably even less) a blade emerged from the ground aimed at Sam's heart. Sam neatly avoided the blade, and jumped back, calling Erebus. He hung in midair, about fifteen feet up, as Darkness surrounded him completely. The Darkness then lowered itself, and started forming features. Three heads, four paws, a rather large tail. All made of pure Darkness. Zach walked out, smiling maliciously, face still covered. He had somehow retained the hoodie throughout the battles. Which was unfortunate, seeing as they all needed to at least know who Zach is and what he looked like. That face that caused so many so much grief, and shocked Otto so much. What had been behind those veils? He looked behind him, where Sophie was trying to heal Roy. There were tears in her eyes, and on his clothes, and, well, just about everywhere. Meaning Roy was gone. Epic and Syd as well. That left five of them. Two would not fight. Fletch said so. And he refused to let them die. You guise, you know what I just realized? Sam never even died. For some reason I thought he died on the roof scene, but never killed him off (plus, he's too strong to die from something like that.) So will you guys forgive a writer's mistake, and pretend that Sam's return in this update isn't at all surprising?
