Jayden's Pov I slept the whole entire day. I didn't even bother to get up and go to school... Everything was so different without Cora here with me. I felt as if my life had just faded out... I could still smell the scent of her hair in my house, and I missed it so much. I missed messing with her, holding her, teasing her, I missed the way she'd get angry at me... Where has she gone? I wished and prayed yesterday night for her to come back to me. I sat on my bed throughout the whole night until 3 in the morning, praying. I sat up on my bed and looked around. My house didn't even feel like my house anymore.. Suddenly, my phone rang. "What?" I knew who it was already. "Hey Jayden,"Vince said, "why aren't you here at school? You know what's happening today right?" "What's happening today?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. "Tsk. You forgot already? Today is the awards ceremony." "I'm pretty sure I didn't get any award." I didn't care about that crap. " What is up with you? You've been different since that girl left you. Where did she go anyway?" I didn't answer. It struck my heart again, the pain.... "Jayden. Look, you just need to let her go. You haven't even known her for that long, and you're already gonna break down for her? You don't usually do this, this is for the emotional dudes that suck at banging girls. We're not like that. She's a nobody. She shouldn't matter to you anyway, right?" Not wanting to listen to another word from Vince, I hung up. I knew his words were true. I knew I never usually get hurt over a girl leaving me. I knew she should've been a nobody to me. But I still couldn't figure out why she was more to me than I ever thought she'd be... I threw myself back down onto my bed. I didn't even want to bother getting up. This is how I'll be until she comes back to me..
Cora's POV "Jayden?" I asked her again. Lady Ikydis nodded slowly as tears ran down her face. "Yes, Jayden Walker is his name." she said to me. "Wait... He's waiting for me..?" I asked. "Yes, dear." I looked at her. Why was he waiting for me? Why didn't he just move on? Isn't he those kind of guys that only play with girls? I didn't understand... "I don't want him to wait for you too long now." Lady Ikydis said as she stood up. "Come, follow me." She led us to a huge room. That room was full of shelves that contained potions. There were more books too. I looked around in amazement. It was by far the biggest room I've ever seen in my life. It was bigger than Jayden's house by itself.. We followed Lady Ikydis until she stopped. She was standing in front of a desk and was flipping through books. After a while, she finally turned around and looked at us. "I know exactly what to do to help you guys.." "What is it?" my mother asked. "Who is the strongest among you all?" Lady Ikydis asked. "I am." I said before any other devil could say anything. Lady Ikydis looked at me. "Are you sure you're the strongest one?" I nodded. She took a deep breath. "Before I tell you the plan, you must agree to do this no matter what happens.. Do you understand me? No matter what the task is, you must agree." I thought about it for a moment. I wanted to think about the consequences and everything, but there was no time. Without realizing it, I looked at Lady Ikydis and nodded again. She gave me the book she was flipping through. I looked at it as she spoke. "This is called the Vampire Effect. It is a spell that my husband taught me how to master." she pointed to an image in the book of a vampire. "Whoever drinks the potion will turn into a vampire." I looked up at her. "I'm going to turn into a vampire??" "No questions asked." she ordered. I shut my mouth and looked back at the book. "Now, this spell has many parts to it, which makes it a very dangerous spell..." she continued. "If you drink this spell and turn into a vampire, you can only remain like that for 2 days. After the two days, you will turn back into your normal self. Along with the spell is a transporter. You will be transported to someplace else to retrieve the ingredient that will help the potion that I'll be making nourish." "So, as you're making the potion to stop my husband's heart from rotting, my daughter will be someplace else, trying to get a certain object that will complete the potion?" my mother asked worriedly. Lady Ikydis nodded. "Now, if you fail to get the nourishment for the potion, you will remain a vampire. And we all know that vampires down in hell are not allowed." Lady Ikydis warned. I knew that for sure. In hell, if you were a vampire, no matter who you were when you were still a devil, the vampire side of you would take over. That meant that you'd become a complete vampire in just a few days. You'll lose all your senses and go on a killing spree. That leads to a whole bunch of devils teaming up on you to kill you. And believe me, I was not gonna die as a vampire! "Once you take the potion, you will be transported. From there on, you are by yourself. We all will be down here, trying to keep the potion in good shape. If you take too long, the potion will dissolve, and we only have one chance at making it. Do you understand?" Lady Ikydis looked at me and waited for my answer. I thought about it. How was I going to do all this by myself? "I have questions..." I told her, wanting more information before I agree. She looked at me and waited for my questions. "What am I trying to get?" I asked. "Blood." she asnwered without thinking at all. I guess she knew it from the heart or something. "Blood? Who will I get blood from?" "Once you turn into a vampire, you will have a sense of smell. That smell will help determine the person with the blood that you'll be getting. You'll know when the person is near because you will have a great amount of crave for it." "Okay... Then... Where am I going to be transported to in order to get that person's blood?" She looked at me. "Human World." I looked at her with shock. "The Human World..??" "Yes, the Human World. The person with the blood that will nourish the potion is in the Human World." she answered. "You're crazy. I can't go back into the Human World.." I hesitated. "Why not?" "B-Because... I-If Jayden saw me, he won't let me come back..." "Is it him who won't let you come back, or is it your heart that won't come back?" Lady Ikydis stared at me straight in the eyes. I looked at her, trying to figure out what she meant. Before I could say anything, she turned around and changed the subject. "Do you agree on this?" she asked, flipping through another book. I looked down at the image of the vampire one last time. "Yes, I do..." I answered. My mother tugged my arm worriedly. I could tell she didn't want me to go, but I had to... Lady Ikydis turned around with a smile on her face. "Well, aren't you just glad that I can tell the future?" She held up two glasses of potion in her hands. "I had a sense that I would need to make this potion. And now I know why. It was to help you guys." She smiled again. My mother looked at her. "Are you saying you already made the potion?" she asked Lady Ikyids. Lady Ikydis smiled and nodded. "Does that mean that I can go right now?" I asked, getting anxious. "Whenever you're ready." Lady Ikydis looked at me. I was ready for it... I was ready to save my family... In my head, I was thinking about stopping my father's heart from rotting so we all could be saved... But somehow, in my heart, I was thinking about Jayden....
