Finally! ~~~~~~~~Tina's POV~~~~~~~~ *At lunch* I strode to my lunch table, eager to tell Ashley about the janitor's closet, when suddenly I wasn't walking anymore. I was flying. My lunch tray sailed over my head, dropping mashed potato grenades on anyone who was underneath it. My milk squirted all over the place, but my soup was still in my hand. I landed on my butt, skidding to a stop a few feet away. "Oops," Taylor smirked, her foot still sticking out. "You need to watch where you're going next time, sweetie." "Do you need a hand?" Alexis asked sweetly, helping me up. "Oh wait, boyfriend stealers can do anything by themselves." With that, she pushed me down on the floor again. Standing up, I glowered at Alexis, dumping my soup over her head. "Well, liars deserve soup," I growled. "You *****!" Alexis sputtered. "This was a new outfit!" "Well maybe you should've thought about that before you pushed me," I said, spinning on my heel to leave. I no longer cared about lunch. ~~~~~After School~~~~~ I stomped into the house in a bad mood to find my mom, who was in an even worse mood. She looked up as I came in, wiping her eyes. "Mom! You know looking at pictures of Jason makes you depressed!" I exclaimed, snatching the book away from her. "I know, but I needed to see his adorable face again," my mom sniffled. "Remember how we used to say everyday from July to November was Jason day? Just because it spelled Jason?" My mom wiped a tear from her hazel eyes and brushed a lock of dark brown hair from her face. Shutting the book and not bothering to look inside, I placed it on the shelf. "Oh, and can Ashley come over? Her parents were drinking and she needs somewhere to stay for the night." "I guess," my mom said glumly. "Why are there so many terrible families in this world? One drinks, and one doesn't watch their children close enough, so they disappear…" "Mom, listen." I said firmly. "You are an amazing mom, and it wasn't your fault my twin brother disappeared. You need to pull yourself together because dad can't do it, since he's in New York. And stop worrying about Jason." My mom got up miserably. "I'm sorry sweetie, I just can't help it. We won't even be able to look for someone exactly like you because he wasn't an identical twin… I'm sorry… I'll start dinner now." ~~~~~~~~Ashley's POV~~~~~~~~ As soon as I got home, I was bombarded with questions. Drunken questions. "Where were yoush tojay? I needed yoush fo' sumthin!" My dad slurred. "I was gon' say dat!" My mom shouted." "Well I shaid it firrrrst," he argued. My mom stomped out of the house. "I gon' get shome chicken!" Oh no. They were really drunk. Frantically, I texted Tina, who was probably almost home. hey sry to b rude but can i go 2 ur plc? my prnts were drinking A few minutes later, Tina replied. yeah sure come whnvr. but dont b surprised if my mom is depressed ~~~~~At night~~~~~ "So, tell me about this Luke guy," I pressed Tina for details. "I haven't seen him before." She shrugged. "There isn't much to tell. I saw him, thanked him for saving me, then got trapped in the closet." "Well, which one do you like better?" I needed to know more about these guys. I saw Chris before, but not Luke, unless you count the few seconds when Tina was unconscious. "Hmm… I don't know. I guess I'll just see which one I like better once I get to know them." Tina decided. "Besides, I don't even know if they like me." Abruptly changing the subject, I sighed. "You're so lucky you have parents that care about you. I always think that. But in a weird way, I feel like they do care about me. When I was younger, I remember they would never drink. They would stay away from it, and they started drinking when I was thirteen. Then they drank more and more as I got older, so I kind of feel like they stayed away from it just for me." I remembered my mom ruffling my hair, pushing me on the swings in the park… my dad lifting me up in the air and spinning me around… and as I got older, the frequent longing looks cast towards the beer in the shops… coming home one day to find my parents drunk and yelling at each other… the screaming and crying that went on for hours on end… I had no idea what that would turn into… no idea that I would have to live with drunk parents. Tina looked into my eyes. "Ashley, you know that you always have me. Whenever, no matter if it's 1:00 in the morning, there will always be a place for you in my house." "Thanks Tina," I said gratefully. "And you can always come to me with whatever problems you have, no matter what." I glanced at her. Murmuring a reply, Tina was already asleep. So with my spirits high and my heart much lighter, I went to sleep.
I'm going on vacation for a few days without wifi so I can't update… I promise I will when I get back
I wrote a really long update in my notes at the beach and when I came back they got deleted!!!! D:
I couldn't really remember what I wrote, but I'll try… ~~~~~~~~Chris's POV~~~~~~~~ I shivered against the cold, huddling inside my warm coat. The cold back of the wooden bench I was sitting on dug into my back. But I knew it was all worth it when Tina came, looking so beautiful with her rosy cheeks and glossy hair. I stood up and started walking towards her, when Luke suddenly came up to her and started talking. It was Trey all over again. As I saw Tina smile, I felt a sense of rage boiling inside me. The noises of the rest of the students coming to school fell away, until all I could hear was them talking. And laughing. I could no longer feel the cold, nor the flurries of snowflakes lightly drifting to the ground. All I could feel was an intense heat searing up inside me. If I stayed any longer, I was bound to punch him. Letting out a sigh of disgust, I turned around and stomped into school. ~~~~~~~~Tina's POV~~~~~~~~ "Hey," Chris said, sitting at my lunch table next to me. "Hey, were you going to tell me something this morning?" I asked. "I saw you outside and you looked like you were going to talk to me." Just as Chris started to reply, I felt someone sit beside me. "Hello, Tina," Luke interrupted. "Excuse me? I was talking to Tina." Chris snapped, standing up. Luke stood too, going face to face with Chris. "Well maybe I was going to talk to her instead," he said coldly, shoving him. Chris toppled into me, knocking me over on the ground. Regaining his balance, Chris pushed him back, into a nearby table. I could practically see the steam coming out of his ears, his eyes shooting lasers. "Don't push me, *******." "Guys, guys. Please don't fight." I begged, my head feeling faint. "Just… agree to disagree." "Fine." Luke growled, wiping the bits of food off his shirt. "But this isn't over, Finlay. Meet me outside the school, 3:00." He stormed off, brushing past terrified students. As soon as he left, everyone started talking. "What was that about?" "Ow, he hit me…" "Fighting over Tina…" "A fight…" "3:00…" I saw some kids upright the table, others just walking around as if in a daze. "Tina? Tina? Are you alright?" Chris asked worriedly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to fall on you." Standing up, I smiled reassuringly. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you alright?" He grinned. "Yep, I'm fine. Now where was I…" ~~~~~~~~Ashley's POV~~~~~~~ As I walked through the halls, I saw a cute boy walking through the halls. His dark brown hair fell into his warm brown eyes, his beautiful, soulful eyes… "I think I just found the perfect one," I whispered. Seeing him go to his locker, I started walking-no, floating-over to him. His friend called out to him… called his name. As I heard it, my stomach dropped. Oh no. I swore he looked familiar, but not in that way… I was in love with Luke Wolfe.
