Actually today ~~~~~~~~Luke's POV~~~~~~~~ I was looking in the park for Ashley when I heard the faint murmur of voices. It was coming from a spot obscured by bushes and trees. But I knew the voices instantly. "What do you mean you can't?" "I can't come home. I don't have a choice. I just can't. If I do-" I crashed through the bushes, interrupting Ashley. "You have to come back!" I said, noticing that Chris had ghosted through the trees and was standing next to Tina. Ashley's eyes usually reminded me of diamonds. Of crystals. Sapphires. Beautiful, exquisite, dazzling. Flawless. Always with a cheerful glint in them. But now, they seemed more like ice. Melting ice. Tears glistening in her eyes, Ashley looked at me sorrowfully. "I'm sorry, Luke, but the police will force me into an orphanage, or a foster home, or some home for kids with problems if I go back. Because they consider a child to have problems if their parents are like that. Eventually, they'll find out that my parents have a child. They probably already know." "You can't leave us!" Tina insisted. "You're like a sister to me…" "Tina, she's not going to change her mind." Chris soothed. "But I can't live without her!" Tina sobbed, oblivious to the fact that Ashley seemed to have an idea. But didn't like it. "Ash, what are you thinking?" I knelt down and gently asked her. Ashley looked up. "I'm sorry Luke, but I can't make you do this. I know how we can stay together, but I don't even want to mention it. It would be too much of a sacrifice for you." As I gazed into her eyes, a whirlpool of emotion, I saw the answer. "It's okay, Ashley. I'm willing to do this, and I bet Tina and Chris will too." Standing up, I brushed off my hands. "If she can't go home, I guess we can't either." Dear everyone who will read this letter, Everyone is saying how we should choose our own path in life, the one that suits us. And we have. This is our life, here in Garden City, away from everyone we know. We didn't plan this, it just happened upon us. Mrs. Gilmore hired all four of us at her bakery. She's getting old, and needs someone to pass the business on to. She also let us sleep in rooms upstairs over the bakery. This letter cannot be long, for we have urgent matters to attend too, but we just wanted to say goodbye. And to thank you for making a difference to our lives. We will probably come back to visit when we are legal adults, or you might visit us, but until then this will be the last you hear from us. Sincerely, Tina, Ashley, Chris and Luke THE END THANKS FOR READING!!
