Alex's POV Jeremy sat by me in the driver's seat with one hand on the wheel and the other holding my hand. "So, where are you taking me?" I laughed. "Shhhh," he smiled. "It's a surprise." I pouted and crossed my arms, letting go of his hand. I hated surprises. "Now, that's not nice," he frowned. "Tell me where we're going then!" I laughed. "Okay, be that way," he smiled. "You'll see when we get there." I pouted again, sticking my bottom lip out. He just laughed, patting my shoulder. After about ten minutes, we got to a tiny bistro that looked almost empty. "We're here," he smiled. "Why does it look so empty?" I laughed. "I rented it out," he smiled, wrapping his arm around me and leading me in. "You didn't have to do that!" I gasped. "Anything for you," he smiled. "You're so sweet," I blushed. He smiled and led me to a table, then a waitress walked up. "May I take your order?" she smiled flirtatiously at Jeremy. He took my hand in his, reassuring me that there was nothing to worry about. The waitress's smile faded quickly. "We'll split a bowl of spaghetti," Jeremy said. "And two waters." For the next half hour, we talked and laughed like we were little kids. "I'l be right back," Jeremy said, smiling. He was gone for a little while, so I got worried and started looking for him. Then I finally found him. He was kissing the flirty waitress.
Jeremy's POV "I'll be right back," I smiled at Alex and stood up, walking back to the kitchen where I was trying to find her gift. "Hey, Jeremy," the waitress said seductively. "Uh, hey?" I said. "You know, it's just us two here right now," she said, coming closer. I took a step back, glancing around the room for Alex's gift. "Where's Alex's gift?" I asked. "Oh, I don't know," she smiled. "Tell me where it is," I said angrily. She came closer until our face were inches away. "No," she said and pressed her lips against mine. "Stop!" I pushed her with all my might. She staggered back a little, but then regained her balance and kissed me again. I heard a small gasp. I pushed the waitress off of me again and turned to see Alex, standing there in her beautiful blue dress, with her mouth hanging open, and tears forming in her eyes. "No...Alex," I said. "I swear-" "Just stop," she said, looking down. "Just stop." "I swear, she kissed me first!" I shouted. I don't know why I was shouting. "I came back here to get your gift! They were holding it for me!" "Then prove it," she crossed her arms. I walked over to a closet and opened it. I got out the bag and brought it back to Alex. "Open it," I instructed. She studied me for a minute, then gave in to her curiosity and opened the bag. "They're.....beautiful," she gasped, and took out the twelve red roses. "I'll love you 'til the last one dies," I smiled.
Alex's POV "I'll love you 'til the last one dies," Jeremy smiled. "But won't they die quickly?" I frowned. "We'll see," he winked. "Well," said the waitress. "GET OUT OF HERE!" yelled Jeremy. "NOW!" "Can't," she smiled. "I work here. So you two get out." Jeremy took my hand and led me outside the tiny bistro. "I'm sorry that was such a disaster," he frowned. "It's not your fault," I said. "How could you have known about the waitress?" "I haven't told you something," he said. "What?" I asked nervously. "I knew that girl," he said quietly. "She's my crazy ex that never got over me." "Oh," I said. "I haven't told you something, either..." "What?" concern showed in his eyes. "When I left the hospital..." I started. "I went to go find Mary. So, I went to the jail and found her, but it turns out she's Mary's twin named Marissa, and Mary was sent to a mental hospital for killing someone when she was fine. So my parents made Marissa act like Mary-" "How can you believe her?" he asked. "I wasn't finished," I said. "So then, the guard that took me to see her was shot, and I turned around, and it was Mary. Mary went into Marissa's cell with the gun, and I turned around because I couldn't watch. And....and...." "And what?" he said with tears in his eyes. "I heard a gunshot," I cried. "And when I turned around- Mary was on the ground, and Marissa was holding the gun! But it was self defense, wasn't it?" "Yes," he reassured me. He came to me and took me in his arms. "Shhh. I'm here." I heard police sirens in the distance. But they kept getting closer....and closer....until.... "Police! Put your hands in the air where I can see them!"
