  5. Me Hello, how are you today?

    Fyre: Wonderful! And you?

Me: Marvelous, care to start this interview?

    Fyre: Of course!

Me: Tell me a little about yourself. Including when you joined Fan Fiction.

Fyre: Well, I actually joined FF around late June- early July of 2011, so I've been on here for quite a while.

Me: And from 2011 to now, how has Fan Fiction changed?

Fyre: I hardly even know where to begin, to be perfectly honest. I think what has changed mostly is the close-knit social aspect of it. When I first joined, only 5-10 people actually used FF on a regular basis. Within a week of joining, I knew practically everyone by name. We grew together and was aware of eachother's improvements. Now, Fan Fiction is more widely known and new users post stories daily, not that that's a bad thing. We've also lost the rawness and genuine encouragement. Of course, criticism is very good and unobjectively helpful, it's just given to a higher standard that many new users cannot begin to comprehend and evidently rage quit. The stories themselves have raised standards with this— I cannot imagine how many times I've seen a 15-30 paragraph update and then look back to remember the 2-5 paragraph updates of 2011. And then there are RPs. I was very surprised when threads started popping up with "RP" stuck to the end of the name. Of course, I went ahead and joined them. They must've been named "Cruise Role-Play" and "Titanic Role-Play" or something like that. Two ship-based RPs. Now, RPs have kinda grown out of hand and are for the most part bothersome. I agree with previous interviewees in the statement that it has grown both good and bad qualities. Wow rant.

Me: I have to agree 100% with you. I mean with the increased numbers of no plot RP's the number of stories have diminished drastically. But aside from that if you could change one thing in Fan Fiction, what should it be?

Fyre: I really wouldn't change a thing. FF will never be perfect and it never has been. With the action of simply changing problems, new ones would arise. Then you'd secretly wish for it to have just stayed the same.

Me: Point taken. So I forgot to ask, are you a fan fiction writer? If yes, for how long?

Fyre: I have written stories for fan fiction since I joined. I literally read a story, commented, got excited, and wrote my own. That one was actually the only story I've ever finished in FF.

Me: Haha that's pretty amazing. How long have you written stories? Note this does not have to be just your time on fan fiction.

Fyre: I've written stories ever since I can remember. I still find long-lost short stories I wrote when I was five wedged in-between drawers and taped into notebooks.

Me: That's interesting. Okay this is the most important question of them all. Are you ready?

    Fyre: I believe so.

Me: Okay what do you think of Sharknado? I think it was the most unique movie ever. It was so terrible it had its own genre made.

Fyre: Terrible? I'd say ingenious  it answers a lot of questions. What would happen if it rained sharks? Are the buildings strong enough to hold sharks, or would they just collapse? Who directed this? The list could go on.

Me: Am I hearing that you liked the movie?

Fyre: I've actually never watched it :L seemed interesting, though.

Me: Okay then. Continuing on with the interview. List your 3 of your favorite stories on fan fiction. 1 has to be a present, ongoing story. 2 has to be a story that has been completed(Discontinued and Stories with Sequels work) 3 has to be a story you wrote, completed or ongoing.

Fyre: To be honest, I don't read stories on fan fiction  I have a terrible attention span when it comes to reading. Although my favorite story of my own is Karma; Sidestories. Even though I've only written 3-4 updates, I've put countless hours into it, not only writing it, but drawing the characters and planning biographies for the most insignificant of characters. I'm very proud of it.

Me: That's good. Are you a person who is open with criticism or do you just enjoy the story the way it is setup?

Fyre: I'm pretty open with criticism, but if a story flows nicely and has it's own interesting quirks, the rules could be bent.

Me: Hear that folks? Try and be nicer. Even the worse stories have promise. Next question, do you have any stories in progress or your planning on?

Fyre: I don't, but I'm hoping to pick up What's Left of Eden, but I don't know when I'll get around to it. I posted it early 2012, so most people wouldn't remember it.

Me: And that's all the questions I have for now. Any tips you have for our readers and inspiring writers put there?

Fyre: Keep writing and focus on one thing at once. Take things a step at a time and organize your thoughts. Take what others say into account, and try to improve comfortably in the meantime. Writing takes time and is pretty difficult, but it's always fun if you keep an open mind. And also try not to procrastinate like me.

Me: You hear that folks. I'd like to thank Fyre-Heartz for talking to us today.

Fyre: No, thank you for interviewing ^-^

Me: Your welcome then. Have a good day or night.

    Fyre: You too!
