Well if we are comparing our minds to places, mine is the most horrid place ever, a place were you never want to be I sometimes look at my work....and im really ashamed of it
My ideas... Are rare. But they always seem to be taboo topics. Let's see.. Child neglect Wincest Wincest Wincest Drug use More wincest... Come to think of it most the things I've posted here are wincest. A few other one shots. The Story Time story was inspired by my biffle, though.
I feel this situation calls for a certain quote "One of the most common questions writers are asked is, “Where do you get your ideas?” But the sad truth is, we don’t know. Ideas can come at any time and from any direction: in the shower, waiting for an elevator, or while bouncing across Wikipedia pages. Even if we don’t know for sure how books come into our heads, we still like making up answers for this dreaded question, and eventually these stories stick. So if you've ever seen me speaking in public, you've probably heard this tale word-for-word. But just because I always tell it the same way, doesn't mean it's true." - Scott Westerfeld From Bogus to Bubbly– An Insider's Guide to the World of Uglies Personally, I don't classify my ideas by how I got them, but what they're for. Some of them include •Characters: The story circulating around a special character with a special trait or special job/hobby, traditionally with less unique concept and setting than overall character development and/or unique, memorable characters. •Setting: The story creates a whole new, imaginative world that stands out from characters and concept. This includes most sci-fi and fantasy novels •Concept: Personally, the most intriguing of all idea-classifications. These concepts come from "What if...?" questions. These ideas can be molded together. (ex- Setting/Concept, Character/Concept, Character/Setting, Character/Setting/Concept) The more enjoyable stories I've found to contain more than one starting ideas, but it's up to the writer if they feel it necessary to wait until they come up with more relevant ideas. And thus concludes my mini rant on ideas
