I think what I'm going to say is important to writing and RP's and also the people who comment; No this isn't a rant I promise, well maybe it is I think I have no clue I've never ranted before. When an unoriginal story or unthought out RP come here we are very good at knowing those with potential, and those who we need to shut down. I usually don't shut anything down but if things get to hectic and advice isn't being taken I do throw in my 2 cents. But now I think we are taking things wayyy over board, I know that in the rules Thread Owners have a right to kick any one out of their thread if they deem it me carry but if they talk about the person they removed you can comment. So when someone says "No haters" they can remove you and I don't want a big power surge to happen and some idiot using that against good people who want to help. Here's what I think should happen, if 4 or less people comment "Shuy it down" then no one else comment the same thing please, it just makes the Owner mad and then arguments happen. Also if 5 or more people say "let it continue" and you still know it's going to die then let them do it and watch it die and go away much quicker then if everybody commented. We all know that stupid stuff never lasts so let's not be stupid people and make it last. I hope I didn't offend anyone I just want something said on a thread that I know a lot of writers and RPers go on I hope you talk about it and say comments on it and all that love all of y'all
Personally, I think people need to be more open to constructive criticism. Most people who ask for no haters are often the people who need these 'haters'. Most people who are deemed as 'haters' often mean well. They are simply pointing out flaws so they can be corrected, and this will ultimately have a positive effect on everything if the author accepts it. Better writing, and therefore less hate.
Exactly. I hate people who can't write a decent story or roleplay. In those circumstances I would say that yes, I am hating, and yes, I'm being a jerk, and I usually do regret it... But I probably wouldn't if people could try to understand why they infuriate me.
I know and critism is good, putting stud like this is stupid or just plain No isn't helping them it's just making them mad Saying the plot needs more development here or maybe you could add more description to make it longer and check over spelling is helpful
Sometimes there are pieces of work deemed beyond help, or that one simply recognizes as 'stupid'. Not everyone is able to give helpful advice, however everybody is entitled to share their opinion on such matters.
Then shouldn't we say "Why don't you look at stories and Pm a snippet to me-who ever is talking- and then we can start over from there because this story is lacking a lot but hey you can only go up"
I suppose many people are not as considerate to do such a thing. They merely wish to express their distate for the work, which I must admit seems a little blunt in most cases.
Yea I agree but I just was thinking we should start making our critiques more helpful that's my 2 cents haha
