Akiko, I understand where you're coming from. Many people are just apprehensive of an RP outbreak, so they jump on people who make them. I think that people should be able to make new RPs, but it's the fact that they start to become repeats, or become quite plentiful, and they stay in the first page because there is always usually at least one poster to bump them that is the problem.
Yeah, that's supposed to be the purpose of this thread. That and to discuss what you're working on. I might post my own story.
Accidently, I don't think posting a major story here would have worked Hard to stay organized and find the story for anyone who wanted to read it. That and people wouldn't always know it was here lol. Maybe a short piece of writing, though.
Yeah I get annoyed with repeats in Rps but so far most of the Rps have good plot but a repeat in the genre.
I know how you feel too, Royale, and I agree with what you're saying, but as a writer and a roleplayer I have never minded tapping to the second page to find stories.
Haha yeah I think I just figured that out Royale But I am glad that people like the thread. It is a good place to just get along and just relax.
My problem with roleplays is that the quality was always so low. The original post, which should set the tone for the roleplay, the comments, and that people used pictures as descriptions. As far as what I'm working on, I came out of the shadows to start a new story. Not really sure what it'll become, but I'm hoping to avoid romance. Trying to think of a realistic plot is the hardest part!
I understand what you mean on the realistic plot. My first story on here was a Romance but it was also a Tragedy. I wanted to do something where you don't always get a happy ending because that's reality but I stopped because I had Writer's Block and still do or that story.
I've wrote a story on child abuse, a story on incest, a sequel to the incest story (which I quickly came to dislike), a one shot on suicide, and a couple one shots on incest. Seems romance comes up a lot for me. Or at least taboo topics. So coming up with a plot that isn't in that area is quite difficult.
I agree with you so much right now Royale! Some roleplays just suck story-wise and we can't make better ones because they're still active and some people still want to RP on them.
Well actually most of the Rps that are active have good plots, you should have seen the ones before you came. The plot was only one or two sentences long I was thinking about doing something incest for a story on here but I didn't know how everyone would react so I didn't.
Even so they're not very deep or creative. An RP character is meant to be an extension of some aspect of you in some way. If you make an RP vampire character because you wanna be a vampire in real life it's an extension of your desire to become a vampire. All RP characters come from some part of our personality or psyche whether we mean them to or not. I always do. I kinda went off on a random note there but I wanted to give my opinion on what exactly a character is- it's just you but with some features added or exaggerated or toned-down.
Um I just pic one that well sounds more powerful than the others lol. I base my characters off myself sure but I don't pick the character because I have a desire to be one.
Lol! Characters are just people we create with our imagination. A lot of people like to make their characters stand out from the rest. By the way Spinel Sun...Nice thread
Our imagination draws from our own personalities when we create characters. At least that's how it is in my experience making characters.
