People Introduction Many people seem to forget that on the other side of every iDevice screen are not just black and green names, but actual people with actual lives going through actual troubles. What you say or do can, in fact, hurt someone. The saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is completely false. Many people have either committed suicide or murder because of words that were spoken to them. Please be careful about what you post! With that being said, PimD would be nothing without the people who inhabit it. In order to have fun in PimD, you must learn the ins and outs of meeting and communicating with people. How to Meet Someone Meeting someone new is very easy on PimD. I will be using a friend I met close to the beginning of my PimD days as an example in this guide. Quick list on places to meet people World Chat (This is located at the bottom of your screen, just tap it) Clubs (Joining a club is probably the best way to meet people) Forums In each of these locations, click the name of the player. That will take you to the profile of the PimD member. Now, since you know where to find people, let us look into the ways you can communicate with them. How to Communicate There are many different ways to communicate to people on PimD. World Chat Club Chat Tutor Chat Personal Message Walls Gifts Forums Here I will describe each location: World Chat World chat is the section of the game where every player in PimD may chat to one another, regardless of the club they are a part of. World chat is located at the bottom of your screen. Insert Home Screen Picture Here When you click it, it should open up right to Campus chat. This will be your view: Insert Campus Chat picture here In order to chat, you must spend 1 speaker per message. Depending on how many followers you have, you can either get 1 speaker a day, or 5. Use these to speak in campus chat. WARNING Please read the Terms of Use (located in the Help section) and follow any rules and regulations that are there. Disobeying one or more could result in a silence or permanent silence. Club Chat After joining a club, you will have access to club chat. This is a place where you can talk to the other members of your club privately without any enemy clubs, mods, or anyone else looking on. This is just a chat where you and your clubmates can sit back and relax as a group. In order to locate this section, click the bottom of your screen, then tap Club. Insert picture of club chat Tutor Chat Tutor chat is a special area designated for you, your pupil, and your tutors. When you get hired, or hire someone else, you are able to communicate in this section. This is where you can help your tutors upgrade in a whole. I personally talk to my tutors in Personal Chat all-together. But, this is another option. To get to tutor chat, click the bottom of the screen, then tap Tutors. Insert picture of tutor chat Personal Message In order to Personal Message (PM) someone, you first have to be their “BFF”. In order to do that, you need to follow them first. First you need to go to their profile (tap their name where you see it). Near the bottom of the screen are three green boxes. The middle one says “Follow”. When they do, you will get a notification like this one below: Insert notification message After that you get that message you PM. Go to their profile and the Follow box will be replaced with a Chat box: Insert rad’s profile – chat. After you tap it, a screen like this should pop up: Insert chat box Then, you can have a conversation with the PimD member: Insert chat convo with Rad Wall The wall is a place where anyone can give you a message. Everything that is written on a wall is free game for anyone to read. WARNING If you break ToU on someone’s wall, it is just like breaking it in World Chat. You could be silenced or permanently silenced. At the bottom of someone’s profile, near the bottom are three green chat boxes. The one on the very right is the Wall button. Tap that and it will take you to a players Wall. Insert Rad’s profile – follow Near the top of the Wall, there is a green box that says “Post to Wall”. Click that and the following box should pop up: Insert Post to Wall picture Then, type your message then tap Send in the mid-right of the screen. Insert post to wall message It will then show up on the player’s Wall: Insert Wall-message. Gifts Gifts are a fun thing to send at any moment! They can be used as a reward for help, or just as a friendly gesture. Remember, To send a gift, go to someone’s profile. Near the bottom of the screen there are three green boxes. The one on the very left says “Send Gift” Insert Rads profile – follow When you tap that box, a screen of random gifts will pop up. Each gift takes either money, or credits. Once you select your gift, there is a place to write a short message: Insert lollipop Then, you must wait for them to accept your gift. Once you do, you will get a notification that looks like this: Insert notification – gifts Who knows! They could send you a gift in return. If that happens you will get a notification by the box with the little two people in it. Insert – home screen – notification Click it, then click the gifts tab. Insert gifts tab Tap accept and you should get a notification that says you accepted the gift. WARNING You can get silenced for breaking ToU in a gift message as well. Please be careful. Forums Forums in a place where many PimD players gather together to discuss various topics that they enjoy. Forums is a very wide topic, so before you post, I suggest you read “Hermes Guidebook:Forums” and follow what it says there. You can locate that guide in the Off Topics Forum. To get to the forums it is quite simple. On your home screen, slide your finger to the left. You should see the Forum button second from the top. Insert home screen – forums You should then see this screen. Insert forums screen The Forums topics include 10 different types of forums. Rules of Conduct Questions/Feedback News Strategy Clubs Wars Other PIMD Discussions Fan Fiction Off Topic Best Of You can click on any of these sections to look up various topics you want. Sexting Sadly, I feel like I must address this issue shortly. For more information regarding the issue, read Royale’s “The Scary Truth” located in the Off Topic section of the forums. Sexting is found scattered throughout PimD, and to me and most PimD players it is despicable. Sexting regarding minors is illegal and can be punishable with jail time (that would cut into your PimD time, eh?). Though sexting in club chat and PM cannot be punished, advertising sexting, having sexting mentioned in your Club Page, or in forums or World Chat could result in a silence or permanent silence (depending on the offence). Even though this game has a 17 tag, minors still play the game. This is a gentle warning, please be careful what you do on PimD. Again, read Royale’s “The Scary Truth” located in the Off Topic section of the forums for more information on the dangers and punishments of the act of sexting. People as People Like I said at the beginning, each person you talk to on PimD is an actual person. Talk to them the way you wished to be talked to. If you “troll” or “hate on” a thread, expect it in return and do not whine about it. I do caution everyone again that words can and will hurt. Whatever you say in any forms of communication on PimD can have consequences (good or bad). If you start bashing someone, be careful, because there is a fine line between bashing and harassment.
