We stopped at a rest area to stretch out out legs, get snacks and use the restroom. Kelsey and I got an iced coffee from the vending machine, Kelsey went crazy with the sugar button and I just knew no one could be prepared for this atomic bomb of a sugar high. Amelia came out of the snack area with her beaming grin " hey guys, I have an idea! " She said taking her seat next to me, "what is it, Amelia?" she giggled " I think we should all spend the day together, we have the day off, I mean why not? Avery needs time with her friends, she needs a day with no worries, no stress, just a good time with her new close, and new best friends" I sighed " but, Amelia, none of us has any money, we can't really do anything "fun" without money. " she giggled " come on! I have my dads credit card, well, sort of, he would let me use it in a time like this, it'll be the first time I get to, anyways. He keeps telling me to find a use for it before it expires. " Justin and Tyler both joined us, " what's going on, girls? " Justin asked standing in front of me " Amelia, I don't know. I don't want you using your dads money on us. " Amelia scrunched up her face, crossing her arms " Avery! I insist! I need to use this card before it expires and I plan to use it on you guys" I couldn't take her serious voice very serious, she was completely adorable being upset, and funny too. " okay, Amelia, calm down. You can spend it how you please." She quickly returned her warm smile, and bubbly personality. Dylan came out and joined us, " well, lets talk in the car" Justin said, grabbing my hand and pulling me up" We all piled back in the car and tossed out ideas from whatever popped in our heads. Amelia suggested the mall " come on, Avery. You need a make-over!" I had no clue what to say, I thought I looked fine but once Amelia continued " Connor wouldn't notice you" I thought over her idea, if maybe I did change my outer appearance, Connor really wouldn't know who I was, I did want to change my long, straight, and light brown hair. " I guess it couldn't hurt to change some things, but lets not go crazy, okay?" Amelia beamed with sunshine "you got it!" Justin got onto the interstate and we drove to the mall " Avery, you know, you would look pretty beautiful with strawberry blond hair with some curl to it and a nice light blue at the tip... Not that I know anything about women's hair and stuff" Justin's light milk chocolate complexion on his face gave off a subtle tint of red "someone's flirty!" Dylan joked, I giggled at them "thank you, Justin, that was sweet" Justin grinned at me causing me to giggle. Once we pulled into the mall, Justin let us out at the entrance while he found a place to park. Dylan, Tyler and Amelia sat on a bench while I kept Kelsey occupied and distracted from going too crazy at people that was leaving and entering. I heard my car beep from being locked and soon after seen Justin walking towards us, a few short minutes after he had caught up and one by one we walked in. It was as crowded as we thought it would be, thank you, weekdays. Kelsey, Amelia and Justin all walked beside me after Dylan and Tyler found a GameStop, "where to first, Amelia?" I asked her with nervousness in my tone " to get your hair fixed!" I sighed, anxious of what would be done to my hair that had took almost forever to grow to my lower back. It had to be done eventually and I knew today was the day to say goodbye to it, walking in we noticed the lady didn't have any appointments so she took me right on in, Kelsey and Justin decided to go look around while Amelia stayed with me. She placed me in a chair, buttoned my cape around my neck and jacked my chair up, "no turning back now" I thought to myself as I stared back at my reflection.

The hairdresser spun me around so that I faced her as Amelia told her what she wanted. I couldn't hear Amelia's voice so I figured she had whispered it to her, oh joy, a surprise. I enjoyed getting my hair washed, I didn't however, enjoy seeing and feeling my hair being chopped off. After what felt like countless hours in the chair I was finally done, the lady spun me around to look in the mirror and I fell in love with my face, my hair was layered but she had put in small beach waves, strawberry blond, and like Justin suggested I had the ice blue at my tips, which actually looked cute with it twisted in a curl. I hugged Amelia, telling her thanks, "it's no big deal, you look completely gorgeous! Go find Justin and Kelsey and I'll be there after I pay" I took off walking down the mall like I owned this bad boy and found them sitting on a bench with vending machines where the sections meet together, crossing over, sort of like a bridge for the people up top. I stood in front of Justin, his eyes following up to my face and then noticed my hair. He looked shocked, and speechless "wow, Avery. You're beautiful." He smiled at me and I blushed, Kelsey came out from behind a vending machine "what was you doing?" Justin asked her, turning his upper body away from me, to look at her "spitting out my gum, it landed in a mans drink, let's go... Now" she dashed off leaving Justin and me standing in front of each other, laughing from Kelsey. We just stood there, staring, like we wanted to both say what we felt but just couldn't get the words to come out, I tried saying how I liked him and I felt my mouth twitch, but before the words came out Kelsey came and swiped me away, I seen Justin laughing but I could tell something bothered him, just by the way he laughed. Something was eating him up on the inside, and deep down I slowly started feeling the same way as him, the only thing I had to tell him was that I was liking him, a lot. I wanted to know what it was, what was slowly killing him inside, why he was pretending to laugh, and why couldn't he just tell me. I started feeling just how Justin felt, but I had no reason to feel this way, I wanted to just break free from Kelsey's grip, run down to where he was walking and just jump in his arms, but it wasn't that easy, I could get away with it but I wanted a solid excuse to find a reason to just wrap myself around him, into the biggest hug I could give him.
Amelia's next mission was my clothes, I didn't see the need to change them but Amelia thought it was best. She pushed me into a fancy dress place and insisted I pick out a dress and pair of shoes, I never wore a dress and high heels before, I preferred the comfort of pants and Ugg boots. Justin again waited outside with Kelsey, through one of the display windows I could see Justin, still in his mood, it was killing me because I was now suddenly in the same mood as him, Amelia knocked me out of my daydreaming by tossing me millions of dresses, she flung me into a changing room. I tried on five dresses before finally deciding to show Amelia, I really liked this dress, dark purple with black lace detailing that came to just a little bit above my knee. The fit hugged to my body, I never knew I had nice and snug, it had inch thick, maybe a little less of shoulder straps, a lace up back, and around the waist and top looked a bit like a corset. I felt like I was a grape, but not just any grape, the one grape out of the bunch that is just the perfect size, no bruises, no missing skin, and has just the right amount of flavor. I was the queen of grapes, I barged open the door and strutted over to Amelia, "I love this dress" I said proudly "great! Try it with these shoes" and there went my confidence, instead of being the queen of grapes, I knew once these shoes graced the soles of my feet I would become the one grape that never really turned into one, and the longer it stayed in the fridge the more it became a raisin. After discovering there is more than one way to fall either on your face and butt I finally managed the shoes. They was completely killer, purple with black skulls and crossbones, the back of the heel was purple satin that laced up, and it had a small chain hanging down from where the sole of my foot was, I felt like mortal combat in these shoes, like I was raised by Chuck Norris. Amelia again went to pay while I stared in the mirror, I was stunned by the simple fact that my grape dress showed me this body that I hid and covered up with pants, long sleeve shirts or pull over hoodies. I couldn't believe it was actually my reflection that was looking back at me, I never knew I could look like this, much less half of this. I walked out with Amelia noticing on the bench beside the store was Kelsey and Justin, Justin's mouth had dropped, I knew just how he felt, I still couldn't believe it. " I feel like I need a tuxedo to walk around with Avery looking like this." Justin joked and suddenly I noticed Justin's mood change back to normal, once I giggled, he smiled back and it was like the monster eating him inside had vanished, I felt it disappear with his, I liked this Justin, not the one with a black cloud hovering above him. I wanted to talk to Justin, I wanted to know what was eating at him and why he gave me that same feeling. I was about to lose it if I didn't say something, anything to say the least, I just needed an opportunity to just ask. While Kelsey and Amelia took off to the pet store, I decided to go slouch over the balcony and watch the people below me, I felt a presence beside me " hey, Miss America, what you look so sad for?" I giggled "not sad, Justin, just thinking" I sighed "thinking about what?" He put more focus on me instead of the people below us "earlier, when Kelsey swiped me away, you looked like something was eating at you, like you wanted to say something, then it was like I started feeling the same exact way." He gave me the most serious look, "Avery" his arm wrapped around my waist, he pulled me into him, his arms going around to my lower back and he looked at me. I looked at him, feeling nervous, replaying Connor in my head, I wanted to run away but Justin wasn't giving off that vibe, not at all, I still kept looking at him, he moved his hands from my back to my cheeks and kissed me.
