I jut read and caught up to this...And /kinda/ had an idea of who he is. My first guess: Duh...A...Vampire...? (Because Vampire's have this trait, where on the first encounter, the opposite gender gets attracted to them; eventually, leading up to the event where they become their slaves. :3) Second Guess: Lust itself? :3 I was right!!! xD Awesome story, can't wait for more~!
I shivered, wrapping my arms around myself. The nice weather had subsided pretty quickly, and it was starting to get cold already. Unfortunately, in my rush to get out of school, I left my things in Mr. Hall's room. Including my jacket. I wasn't going back in there, though. Rubbing my hands together, I began the long trudge home. In reality, it wasn't exactly that long, but the cold made if seem ages longer. The wind started to pick up, and it blew a pile of leaves at me. I grumbled, picking them out of my hair and brushing my clothes off. The houses on this street looked so warm, and inviting. I wasn't even near my house yet, and I was considering B and E. It was better than having leaves blown into your face every five seconds. I sighed. I wasn't like this. I wouldn't resort to a felony just because it was cold outside. But… my hands were starting to get numb, and I could barely move them. I clasped my palms together, and crossed the road, turning onto the next street. Every now and then, I'd hear the whir of a car engine passing behind me, on the busier road a street over. The one I was walking down, was a more residential street, and deserted. Or at least, everyone was indoors. Suddenly, the purr of an obviously foreign and expensive engine sounded next to me, and I saw a red sports car pull into the driveway of one of the larger houses. A lot of people could've driven that car... despite the fact this is a small town… and nobody could imagine buying that unless they won the lottery. My thoughts were swept away when Mr. Hall exited the car, and walked up the pathway to his house. He was holding a briefcase, and… a messenger bag. My messenger bag. It was strange, after I made an exit like that, I thought he'd just leave my things in the classroom. At least he cared enough for it not to get stolen. I felt my pride go down the drain. I had to talk to him, even after what I did today. "M-mr. H-h-hall?" I called out, shivering. He paused, and turned away from his door. "Hello?" I bit my lip, and walked closer to the house. At least I could blush out here and blame it on the cold. "It's m-me… P-Persephone..." Mr. Hall widened his eyes at my disheveled appearance, and he set his briefcase on the front steps to his house, approaching me. "Persephone, what're you doing out here? It's freezing." "Gee, you don't th-think I noticed t-that?" I grumbled, still shivering. I sighed, glancing down at my bag. "I didn't want your things to get stolen… here's your bag." he handed it to me, and I took it gratefully. "And my jacket?" "Your jacket? Persephone, your jacket wasn't in the classroom." "N-no! I remember bringing my jacket! J-just like I remember completing my homework"- "...why would I lie about that? Your grades are important, and you're obviously suffering out in this weather. I don't want to see you like this." he sighed. I couldn't feel my face. I just stood there, staring up at him. Either he was an amazing actor, or he was telling the truth. I surprised myself by believing he was telling the truth. "You can't walk home like this... do you need a ride?" he offered. I looked at his car. It was so overly expensive it made me want to laugh. It was a nice alternative to walking home. But, I didn't know if I should let Mr. Hall drive me. "F-f-fine…" I stammered, storming over to his car and getting inside. After a moment, he got in too, and started the engine. It was an insanely perfect temperature in the car interior. Heated seats, the air vents all set to 70 degrees. After my hands heated up again, I got the courage to turn on the radio. I didn't want to drive in silence. Mr. Hall drove down the street, and I dictated the turns he should make every so often, watching for the street signs that were so familiar. After a few minutes, he pulled onto my street, and I told him to stop at the brick house in the middle. My house was relatively big; my parents were both lawyers. They were never home, though. Always on a business trip that kept them away. "Thanks…" I muttered, and I exited the car. Walking up to the front door, I took out my key from my pocket, and inserted it in the lock, turning it until I heard the chamber click. I opened the door quickly, and walking inside, turning to give a slight wave to Mr. Hall. I tensed, looking at the space where his car once was. He was gone. --------------------------------------------------- I'll try to update every day. Bump?
