Warning for 420 blaze it (drugs y'all ) ------------------------------------------------- "Hey, Persephone!" I was walking down the hall with Jade, amongst the sea of students flooding the hallways, rushing to get to their lockers. School had just let out, and winter break had started so soon. It was difficult to be around everyone's ecstatic faces and joyful demeanors; they'd go home to a warm abode and loving family. I'd be alone, in a painfully empty and undecorated house with only Katze to keep me company. Turning around, I came face to face with Clarissa, flanked by Leah and some girl I didn't know in my history class. Leah kept silent, but she obviously wasn't happy to be there. "You're going to David's Christmas party, right?" I pushed a hand through my hair, groaning. I'd said it only ten minutes ago, how'd word get out so quickly? "Yeah." My gaze cautiously flickered to their expressions. "I'll probably only be there for half an hour." I added with an indifferent shrug. "Oh that's no fun. I thought you liked parties." Clarissa said with a pouty sigh, flinging her hair over her shoulder. When the hell did she get so good at that? "They're cool. Depends on who's throwing them, though." I said icily. This snapped their expressions to shocked looks in a millisecond. God forbid somebody didn't like David as much as they did. Clarissa remained unfazed, however, and threw me another smile. "Well if you change your mind, you may as well bring somebody. What about Jade?" she turned to the girl leaning against a locker, with one earbud in. "You like parties, right?" Jade blinked in surprise; not at all used to so many people looking at her expectantly. She shifted her weight to her other leg, looking around. "Yeah, I guess." "Great! Tag along with Persephone too." And before we could say anything in response, the trio turned around and disappeared with the flow of students. Jade and I exchanged looks, before I groaned and hit my head against my locker with a thunk. No matter how nice Clarissa was, I still felt… off around her. I couldn't explain it, but I sure as hell didn't like it. "Yknow, I don't really see the problem here." Jade arched an eyebrow as I looked at her like she had grown a thousand heads or so. "Are you kidding me?" "I know Leah and her group are total bitches and all, but I doubt they'll try anything after last time." My thoughts flashed back to the infamous pool party- with Leah's head shoved underwater and David unconscious on the floor. …maybe I was over exaggerating. "That, and Clarissa's actually like… nice?" She added, adjusting her backpack on her shoulder. "…yeah. She is." I begrudgingly admitted, attempting to ignore the nagging in the back of my mind. Jade sighed, patting my shoulder. "Hey, it'll be fun. Besides, I think you need to loosen up a bit. You've been tense lately." I shrugged it off, though I was actually surprised. I'd thought I was good at hiding my feelings by now- especially after all I went through in the past months. Apparently not, though.
