"What… why… how…?!" I gasped at the paper, looking at in incredulously. The very thing that could answer my questions dissapeared. I examined the paper from all angles, trying to see if there was anything left. But there wasn't. It was just a plain piece of lined paper. I crumpled it up, and tossed it into the trash can with an irritated sigh. Nothing was going my way at all. I paused, feeling my phone buzz in my pocket. I took it out, sliding my finger across the touch screen, and held it to my ear. "Hello?" "Hey Persephone. You wanna go swimming tonight?" "Jade, it's freezing outside." "No, dumbass, at my house. I have an indoor pool." I sighed, embarrassedly running a hand through my hair at my mistake. I'd never been to Jade's house, I wouldn't know what was there. "Well, okay." "Great, doll. I'll see you there!" she said. I could practically hear her grinning over the phone. "And bring clothes. You should sleep over." I hung up, and worriedly looked at my door. My mother wouldn't possibly allow me to leave, especially after what I did. But I packed my bag determinedly anyways, and walked downstairs. Mom was in the living room, and I was surprised to see she held a wine glass in one hand, with her head in her palm. She had been crying, obviously. I almost wanted to comfort her… but she deserved it. I deleberately walked through the living room, and out the front door, making sure to slam it closed. When I got to Jade's house, I jogged up the shrub lined path to the front door, and knocked twice. Jade opened the door, already clad in a neon checker print bikini. She didn't even bother putting on a cover up. I blinked in surprise, and she smirked. "Well, come on in!" I walked over the threshold, and held my bag at my side, following Jade up the stairs. She opened the door to a room, and I was met with a blast of alternative music. Posters and sketches lined the lime green walls, and I put my bag on the soft, white carpet. Jade flopped on her bed, making a small circular pillow pop up. She reached in a bookcase, which I realized was built into the wall, and took out her iPhone, unplugging it from the iHome she had in there. "Alright, let's go." she chirped, walking out of her room. She led me downstairs, and opened a door, revealing another set of stairs. We travelled down those, into a warm room. She flipped on the light, and I saw a huge pool in the middle of the floor. It was underground, and the pool lights illuminated the area in a slight blue haze. "Wow! This is…" "Amazing?" she smirked, plugging her iPhone into another device, playing her music from the speakers around the room. "Well, yeah." I laughed. Jade smiled, and stood on her hands, before back flipping into the water. I shrugged off my clothes, and used the pool ladder, preferring the safer way of getting in the pool. "Woah. Persephone, you got a tramp stamp?" I froze on the ladder, and looked down at myself. "What?" "You know, a tramp stamp. It's on your lower back. The tattoo's pretty epic, though"- "Can you take a picture of it?" Jade nodded, got out of the pool, grabbed her iPhone, and returned quickly. I turned around, and she took the picture. "See?" she lowered the screen in front of me, and I held back a gasp. This mark was the most intricate out of the others. I had no idea where it came from. But it did look like a tramp stamp.
