Update ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "How do you know my name? Who are you?" He was anxious now. I was shocked. A few minutes ago, I was thinking about my first real friend, and here he was, standing right in front of me. "It's me, Callum. It's Chrissy." I managed to choke back the tears that were threatening to come. I'd finally been reunited with him, with the man I'd waited years for. All thoughts of Matteo were gone and the only thing on my mind was cherishing this moment with Callum. "I thought I'd never see you again C. I missed you so much—" I had to stop; I could finally feel the tears pouring down my face. He came and sat next to me. He pulled a tissue out of his pocket and wiped at my cheeks. For a few minutes he was speechless. When he finally spoke, it was a mumbled sentence and I had to ask him to repeat it. Before he had the chance though, Matteo had walked over to us, and saw us holding hands. I didn't notice until then. I quickly pulled away and stood up. "Matteo," I said nervously. "I thought you were sleeping..." "I was. I'm awake now." He wasn't happy. I didn't know what to say. Something told me if Callum said anything now Matteo would probably kill him. "Come back to the car, Christiana. We need to move." I glanced over at Callum. "Give me a second?" I asked. Times like these it was unwise to say no to Matteo, but I had to say goodbye. "You've got one minute. Otherwise I'm coming back over." Matteo walked off, leaving Callum and I alone once again. "Boyfriend?" He asked, looking disappointed. "No," I sighed. His face immediately brightened. "Who then?" "It's complicated. Let's just say he's protecting me." I didn't mention he was the reason I needed protection, I didn't need to tell Callum the full story. "You wouldn't happen to have a pen would you C?" "I do actually. There's always one in my pocket." I took the pen and grabbed his hand, writing down my mobile number. "Call me, C. I missed you." It was heartbreaking to walk away, but I had to protect him. If they found us, they'd kill Callum first. When I got back to the car, Matteo was holding the wheel, ready to leave. His grip tightened as I got in. We sped off, but this time I made sure the ride wasn't silent. "You didn't have to be so rude," I started. "Callum was my best friend." He didn't say anything at first, only stared straight ahead at the road. After a few minutes, he pulled over and turned the engine off. "He looked like he was a lot more than just a friend. How would you like me to act after I just saw you two holding hands looking all lovey dovey? I love you Christiana! And I know you love me too. You won't say it but I know you do. How am I supposed to react to something like that?" It took me a while to respond. "Matteo," I said calmly. "We can't be together. You kidnapped me. You're not human. I can't live the rest of my life in fear of what you are, or who's after us. You told me that you could kill them. After you do, it's not going to make a difference. If you can kill them, you could kill anything. You looked like you were going to kill Callum for goodness sake! Yes, I love you, okay? I love you. But love's not enough for us." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hope you like, posting more later on maybe
Ahahaha team Matteo... Alrighty, here's another update because I have nothing else to do ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "...But love's not enough for us." The last sentence came out a whisper. Tears were trickling down my face again, but I made no move to wipe them away. Matteo only looked at his hands, hiding the tears welling up in his eyes. I'd never seen him cry, it made him look so fragile and vulnerable. I gently placed a hand on his cheek and turned his face towards mine. "I'm sorry," I murmured. "Please don't cry." Slowly, he moved his face closer to mine. When his forehead was resting against mine, he paused and breathed in deeply. "Kiss me Christiana. Just once. Please?" His voice was tired, like it was a struggle just to get those words out. Without hesitation, I pressed my lips onto his and gave him a kiss that lasted a lifetime. He pulled away first, sighing. "You have no idea how hard that just was for me. If I had a choice, I never would've broken away. You're an angel Christiana. You don't deserve to be with a demon like me." "You're not a demon, not at all." He made no reply to my comment, just started the car again and drove off. By the time we got far enough away to somewhere we didn't know, it was sunset. The city we were in was beautiful and lit up with little lights everywhere. There was a river with beautiful buildings reflecting off the water, and not one had graffiti on it. I got out of the car once it had stopped and looked at our new temporary home. An enormous house stood in front of me. It was beautiful. It looked like it was built around the 19th century, and had sweet flowers of all sorts in the front garden. Vines with pink flowers ran along the walls, and little Christmas lights hung around the front door. I jogged over to the door and tried the handle. It was unlocked, like I thought it would be. When I walked inside I was amazed. A giant chandelier hung from the high ceiling and sparkled like sun on ice. A huge fireplace sat in the living room surrounded by red velvet sofas and chairs. The dining room was filled by a great table that could seat twenty people, and the next room was the kitchen, where expensive new appliances were sitting. There were seven bedrooms upstairs, all with an ensuite. I chose the biggest room, while Matteo chose a room down the hall. As soon as I'd gotten settled and laid down on my extremely comfortable bed, my phone rang. I sprinted to get my bag before Matteo had a chance to hear and answered it with a whispered greeting. "Is this Christiana?" The voice on the other end asked. "Yes, who is this?" I whispered back. "Thought you'd recognize me Chrissy, you only left a few hours ago." The person laughed. "Oh, hi Callum!" I said enthusiastically, only remembering Matteo might hear after. "How're you?" I asked, whispering again. "I'm alright, would be better if I saw you again. We have so much to catch up on! But you're long gone by now right? Anyway, I just wanted to see if you were okay. I guess you are ha-ha." "Yep," I said. "Fine as a pickle. Listen, I can't really talk right now. Can I call you back later? I have your number now." "Oh, yeah, of course! Sorry about that. Yeah totally. I'll, um, I'll be here when you're ready. Talk to you soon, Chris." Before I had the chance to say goodbye, he had already hung up. Strange, I thought, but I let it go. About half an hour later, I went down to the kitchen to get a drink before bed. On my way back to my room though, I heard muffled noises coming from Matteo's room. A voice in my head told me to ignore it, but I just had to see if he was okay. I opened the door and was shocked to see what was going on. "Oh my God! Matteo?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dun Dun Dunnn I wonder what she saw
Update ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "What the hell are you doing?" I was laughing so much it hurt my sides. Matteo was dancing around the room, watching a television show about how to move. "Crap. You're meant to be sleeping..." He switched of the show and went bright red. "I'd rather watch you shake it." I was on the floor now. "Why were you dancing? I thought you were all 'Ugh, I have no time for fun, blah, blah, blah'?" "I was bored. There's nothing wrong with trying something new." He said stubbornly. "Ri-ight. Well, night Mr Boogie!" I skipped away giggling. I could hear him cursing at himself all the way to my room. He was actually quite good, not that I'd ever tell him that. I got back to my room and got undressed. Walking around completely naked, Matteo found it the perfect time to walk in without knocking. He ran up to me before I had time to react and forcefully kissed me. I resisted at first, but eventually I gave up and kissed him back. He pushed me down onto the bed and started kissing my neck. I pulled off his shirt while he unbuckled his belt and took off his jeans. (Quick note: I'm not going to explain the rest of what happened between them, use your imagination.) ------------------------- When I woke up, Matteo was gone. I slipped out of the bed and put on a big shirt, hearing a beep come from my mobile. It was a text message from Callum: 'Hey Chrissy, just wanted to let you know that I miss you and I hope one day we can meet up and talk about things. Lots of love, C. Xxx.' I felt bad about his text, even after a night with Matteo he still had a butterfly affect on me. I hid the phone under a pile of clothes in my bag and went into the kitchen. Shelves of food lined the walls, when the night before they had been bare. Matteo was standing over the stove frying something when he turned around and beamed at me. "Oh good morning! Have a good sleep?" He was awfully cheerful today. "Who are you and what have you done with the miserable man who was here last night?" He just laughed and went back to cooking. "I was going to bring you breakfast in bed but since you're up now why don't you have a seat in the dining room? It'll be done in two minutes." I walked up behind him and felt his forehead. "Are you feeling okay? Since when do you cook? And why is there so much food? This could last us a fortnight. We're only staying here for a few days and there's no way we could take all of it with us. What's going on Matteo?" "I just thought we could make the most of it here. There's no reason why we can't make this feel like a proper home while we're here. You know what? Forget it. I thought you'd be happy, it's the first time we've stayed somewhere pleasant. You can finish your food, I'm going for a walk." Instantly I felt bad. I didn't mean to put him in a bad mood, bit it seems to be the only thing we've ever been able to do to each other. I enjoyed last night, I did, but it didn't change anything. He still wasn't human. There's no way we could ever make 'us' work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Tear tear*. Oh Christiana, why can't you like him?
