Episode 13: ~Pãšt, pręśęñt, fęår~ The wind blew sharply against the brushes of tree trunks. Howling alone in the breeze, the lone of wolves pack members all too clear. "So... The reason why we are at a shopping district?!" The snowy girl screamed at the timid Ichiru. "Don't be so rude, it's because Christmas is coming soon and I need to buy this girl a 'fake' present." The short, muscular Doll chuckled as he stormed off into the crowded mall filled with bright hanging lights and as nature decorated with snow. "What?" Alcana shook her head, sometimes even a messed up girl can't understand these Dolls. The blackened young girl took charge and began to walk around the popular shopping district. Her eyes envious of all the happy Christmas couples. "Even though more the half won't last till New Year’s." Alcana spoke bitterly. "Someone's being harshly realistic today." The faded black haired man took a step closer to the girl who had just stepped in front of a glass window display. Alcana held deep sorrow within her eyes. "Ichiru... I may be preoccupied with the whole revenge thing but I'm still a young, pure girl with ambitions for a boyfriend." At the moment if the worst word in the dictionary Ichiru tried to sprint away... Only to have the girl grab hold of him by the collar of his uniform. "Listen can't we just get bread and go home." He whinnied, giving up as Alcana nuzzled in his chest. "Now I don't have to be so self-conscious." She pulled the poor sap Ichiru around like a puppy for the rest of the day. Until the curtains began to close on the frosty evening. The snow piled up against the streets, an iced over pond could be seen in the distance with a bounty of kids staking across it. Alcana quickly tugged on the long navy sleeve of Ichiru's school uniform. The Controller looked down at the small, Snow White skinned girl. Her forehead being covered by a woolly hat as she pulled him closer into the rink. "The ice has a glossy coat from the moon's enchanting light. The stars only doing their best trying to compete. Doesn't it look like-?" A crack in the ice scenery appeared, the rush of people moving away from the scene resembled a heard of ants charging at picnic food. In the end a small cat-eared girl layer upon the strong arms of Ichiru. "Wh... What happened?" Mima's pupils were replaced with the eyes of stars. "It's... You! Ichiru that's the women you must blacken!" Alcana demanded with force, her eyes eradicated any hint of a signal moment of happiness to be consumed by enragement. "Uh? I... Chi... Ru?" Mima poked her side temple. "Where have I heard that name before? Alcana? What are you doing here!?" The blue headed girl was still in shock from her sliding off the ice. Her small hands holding tightly onto the strong arms of Ichiru's. ~•~•~•~•~•~ It was a slow day at the hospital, most emergency rooms empty as a new patient burst into the ward. The doctors frantically went around the usual procedure of healing patients... Or giving the heartfelt message of grave news. Shinko was up in uproar, his defiant cry to see Kami Kaze fell on deaf ears. His body stared intently at the emergency room light above the room which held that girl, during the time that felt like eons he managed to have a little alone time to think. After he had calmed down, "it... I didn't have to develop these feelings. Nor should I, I mean Kami has hurt me physically more than anyone else! Though... When I see the bright moonlight cascade upon that strong, lengthy body of hers. Her skin reminding me of an old doll hidden away in an attic. It might have a few reminders of dust and age but the workmanship showed to stand above time. The doll might have been an empty shell... Though when you took a glacé upon the beautiful, deep eyes you could feel all its stories it had gone through, all the troubles with the new age just to be kept alive. The eyes that are always watching you, even as it sends a chill down your spine it create electricity." The emergency room lights faded away; there were small comments that could be heard from the other side. The only parts to be heard clearly were always the most sinister. "She has mysterious wounds that might need more testing on." One doctor spoke with a gruff voice. Another, more worried voice replied "what do we tell the boy though? He's been agitated and waiting till this girl comes out." They started to whisper even more quietly as seconds went on, minutes passed, the agonising wait to see Kami. It had finally come, she got wheeled out by a bed, and the Controller Shinoki sprinted to be at the victim of the fight earlier side. The boy stroked the skin he so cared for. His eyes watching on hopelessly, the stitches from the battle all to scaring for such a classic beauty, "Kami... Kami I'm-" He got pushed to the side as they entered a new room. The doctors lifting her gently onto the bed, her body was still sleeping, content, relaxed at not having awoken to the pain she was suffering. "She should be alright but her injuries... How would chu say, we're unusual." The nurse with the compassionate voice patted Shinoki on his back softly. Her accent a mix with Spanish and some new age American. This explaining her dark skin coloured body and her dark, enchanting eyes. "Thank you." Shin's tone had lowered to a deep, quiet voice. The nurse smiled sympathetically as they both watched the doctors finish up and headed out. "I'll be her nurse for the majority if her times hear. I'm Muñeca Aagua; I'm guessing I'll be seeing a lot of you here?" The Controller decided to look up and face her, could he put his faith in her that she will take care of Kami when he wasn't here? He nodded in response to her question. Reading the atmosphere she left the room silently giving Shinko some time with Kami. The boy tightly gripped her long, skinny fingered as she lay peacefully upon her new bed. He stayed in place for quiet sometime; hours had possibly passed until Kami began to wake up. Her eyes slowly opened to the sight of Shinko resting his head on her arm. "Shin... You betrayed me and I can't forgive... My morals won't let me forgive you." She slowly moved inward, her thin, red lips delicately danced upon his check. "I'll always protect you though, never letting the feelings I have for you go. Kami, whatever you've seen with this battle. I'm sure not to make the same mistake." Shinoki took his time opening his eyes, stretching out his arms and smiled at her. "I'm sure to drop by tomorrow after school to give you some manga, kay?" He didn't wait for a reply; instead he just left, knowing she would be happy either way. ~~~•~~~•~~~•~~~ "Damn why Mima gets to play in the snow and I'm stuck buying food shopping. I'm too nice for that girl!" The gracefully decorated Voodoo Doll walked the lonely streets of the happy Christmas couples. "Tch, that's a laugh and a half." From out of what seemed like the shadows of the water fountain appeared a familiar face. His presence still held up strength, wisdom and respect. "Vargas? We've have you been! I've wanted to chop off your other arm for ages." The pink haired Doll harmfully stroked the arm socket that formally held an arm. The wound had almost all been sew up beside a feel essences of skin and insides. "You’re confident and arrogant attitude still hasn't changed much while I was on vacation to America. That's refreshing to see but you did get lucky that time." He smiled just like a father would after being teased and poked fun if by his child. "Of course keep thinking that grandpa." Lucy rolled her light red eyes as she handed Vargas a shopping bag. "Leo and Mima aren't around to fight so you may as well be useful to me and carry some food shopping." He took it in his stride as he went along with the Voodoo Doll, "this is different. I've never been offered to be a pack mule for an opponent before." "Well I bet you've never had your arm cut off before." Lucy yawned, her eyes off in a daze. "Have you been feeling something isn't good?" Vargas took it as a surprise. "You've been feeling the strange aura too? I don't like this; I've never felt something like this before. As one of the original, it's not looking good." "Man you really are old, you know that." Lucy took out a box of small candy and started to snack. "Hey considering you have been around so long. You ever meet a Doll called Yusuke?" She but enticingly into a chocolate pod. "Yusuke?" Vargas thought for a moment standing firm next to the fountain. "I'm not completely sure; I might have remembered hearing someone about him though. When I remember I'll tell you." The wise Voodoo snatched a pod from the box of candy. "Humph! Well that's a shame, I haven't seen Yusuke during this battle and I don't like my odds. He was always a bit of an undisciplined guy. Not knowing when to calm down so he got into trouble easily and lost often. I still don't are though! He's my one-" The wind suddenly stopped and there was no human being insight. Lighting on the fountain light up in colours of the summer, highlighting a small Voodoo Doll carrying a small pink shopping bag. "Crap'" He screams to himself as Lucy ran to chase after the silver heard Doll. "Daemon, you survived huh?" Yusuke looked surprised as he ducked behind Vargas. "Oh and you hang out with old guys now? Good for you!" "Hajj!" Lucy sprinted, focusing on nothing but that Doll. Her destruction path mirroring a bull in a china shop. The inevitable came and she slammed into Vargas, show how sending the both of them into a fountain. The victorious laugh rained down upon the wet peasants in the water, Yusuke kneeled against the water fountain as he helped Vargas up. "You’re Lucy’s rival? Hilarious old man. Anyway why are you guys so tied up in the Misaki saga?" The two Voodoo's eyes turned into a shocked gaze. Their hands both shaking from the sudden impact of the news. "Misaki... You don't mean the legendary angel Misaki and the horrific attack on her by-" "Lucy, stop. Please, it's too painful." Vargas cut in between Lucy, his deep blue eyes staring agitated and filled with worry at Yusuke. "What do you know about this?!" "Sheesh and I thought old guys kept co-" Yusuke was lifted up of the ground nearly by Vargas's one arm. "Kay alright I'll cut to the chase. The resurrection key has appeared and found itself upon the grave of Misaki Ushio after all she was cursed by the devil. It's already claimed one casualty, a girl called by the name upon Kami Kaze." A pin could be heard dropped as the two stared at the Doll Yusuke. Vargas's face had turned a sickening green while Lucy's turned a more pale shade. "Shame I'll have to actually start caring about this contest. Here I thought I could just enjoy this a while longer." Yusuke laughed it off as Vargas placed him back down. "How... Young Voodoo Yusuke, are you so calm?" The wise Doll still stood in shock, his past mistakes had already come back to haunt him. "Don't know, I guess the comfort of knowing I'll win. After all, I know everything that will happen and that has." His smile turned haunting as he disappeared into the shadows. "That's your love huh?" Vargas choked upon asking. "Yep, that's him. Yusuke, the cutest creep." Lucy chuckled trying to think on the positive side. Her heart worried for what the next chapter of this battle would bring.
Haha ? Sorry for my weird updating patterns. I try for once a week but... You see how that doesn't work. Also about the long paragraphs, gomen~

The wind blew, as it always seemed in this quint town. The place revolving around the stage of a huge battle yet to come, though at what cost? The young Controller sat upon the schools front gate. Watching the array of students gleefully walking away back to their homes. Or even going to venture off with friends, his hands griped tightly to a plastic bag. The contents were all the manga he could find that Kami might like from the book store. His wandering eyes gripped in thought as he slowly jumped down from the meter high gate. Friends he recognised from the corner of his eye started to relay gossip to each other. "Why wouldn't they?" He whispered to himself. "This is a part of high school. Things just have to be more complicated than primary. It's the challenge." With a strong smile on his lips, his back standing up straight, he decided on one mission. Chucking the plastic bag into his shoe locker he busted out into a sprint. Chasing down the wild birds upon the streets. His journey, was about to get more challenging. The uncomfortable duo of Alcana and Ichiru stood in shock at the punt sized blue head that had astonishingly made her way into their destiny. "No this can't be right; the guy Lucy spoke of had a certain yoai feeling towards him." Mima playfully released his arm as she danced around the two. The fading presence of Ichiru stumbles his way to a bare branch tree, sliding down to sit beneath. "Brat, why her? Why must my life be so troubling?" His melancholy voice softened as he buried his face into his knees. "Listen that's the deal we struck-" "We never struck a deal. All we spoke of is that I wish to blacken someone. It's voice, not a blood contract." Ichiru glared into the snow, his breath vapour visible to the two young women. "But! Bu... No you said you would! We were going to blacken her together. Side by-" Her panic was starting to spread, her voice to the body actions. The cold blue lips quivering imitating a sickening princess of a fairy tale about to get captured. “‘We’ hilarious, you can't do a thing you realise." The cat-eared girl snickered. Her eyes filling up with delight. Alcana was choking for words, her icy eyes darting back and forth. Scanning the virtual dictionary I her head to find an answer. "I... I thought we could do this together?! Revenge." Ichiru sighed regretfully jolting his neck upwards to the direction of the bird’s songs overhead. "I recall calling that I would have to fight the person sooner or later so why not. I want to get one thing clear, her lost. This is not your battle." The Queen of Ice was not satisfied with that answer. "So your just expecting me to leave?! The teenaged boy shook his head. "I was expecting you not to be here at all." Alcana's eyes glazed over, her relationship she once felt. Even be it so small was broke to shards just like that. "You aren't going to take my revenge?" He shook his head once again, slowly rising up to meet her by his side. "It's pathetic, though. It was interesting to see what happens when someone is blackened. Quite the show. I'm sick of being a babysitter so you can hide your loneliness." Ichiru patted the white haired girl but she suddenly gripped tightly onto the teens shoulder. "You can't leave!" Her voice was now that one of a possessed beast. The snickering of the Controller Mima growing louder. "Glad I got rid of her. She's a great research subject... Gomen." She whispered under her chilling but still holding the honeysuckle charmed voice. "Why? Why must you bring me into your annoying life? I will not be a replacement for your brother. It's even more sickening that you would use a Doll like that as well." The Controller took his glance off of the snow and turned towards the child Mima. As Ichiru's back faced Alcana, her world deteriorated even more. Slowly but surely both her reality and the world she tried to allude herself in crashed. "I... Chi... Ru." The once innocent girl now bit her lip. Blood slowly trailing down her once so glowing pale skin. "At least, I'll know she has been blackened. Though what the use." Alcana had now accepted her fate, slowly realising Ichiru of her strong hold. She walked out into the distance, the bird’s song now broken. She once ever turned back, the near early sunrise slowly taking hold. The glare of the fire rock had blurred any vision of her face. Mima took the glance Alcana gave; she saw her eyes now closed. Her words mouthing a single word 'matsu'. The morning sun gave an alert reminder to the Dolls that they should have alerted their Controllers quite a while ago. The pink haired Lucy galloped along the tree branches just up ahead of Vargas, a concerned look a settling reminder of what is to come. As the wind changed direction, the same as the Voodoo Dolls, not wanting to feel the force fronts of the wind. “Lucy, I knew this might be none of my business but at the end. If by some miracle you do defeat me and Yusuke is the only one left. Who would win?” Lucy chuckle a cruel laugh, her voice repeating the same lines of a memory decades ago. “I’ll win then. Yusuke must be my love and no one else’s. Even if I’m not around.” Vargas’ cool blue eyes felt the remorse of that sin. The wise Doll now departing from the path of Lucy, quickly catching up to where he knows his Controller would be. The rush of waves crashing into the big rocky cliffs calmed the Voodoo. His long limbs landed him next the the bright and beaming Controller Leo. His grip on the fishing rod tightening up, a gasp of excitement entering the atmosphere. "I got it now! Dinner for me and that idiot!" Leo too eagerly pulled on the rod, his hand lacing around the line. Slowly pulling it up, the fish dangling and floundering for water. "Oi! Sunkiss!" At the unusual burst of entertainment exerting from Vargas's voice. Leo jumped up like it could have been Friday the 13th as he'd just stolen the witches lunch. "The rod went flying towards the rocks and dried up plants behind him as the fish went flying back to it's freedom in the ocean. "What was that for?!" He yelled out to his Voodoo. Vargas lead the on pour of common sense to the young boy. "You can't feed Alex a puffer fish! No matter how much you may dislike him." Leo pouted as he raced to get his fishing rod. "So what! It's not that I dislike the guy but I hate him! Why must he say those things. It makes me so mad and I don't know why you don't get furious." Vargas had now taken the move towards Leo. Hoping he would end in check mate but it never was with the little fire head. "Because..." He patted his Controller on his small head. "It's all apart of being a mature Voodoo Doll." Leo snorted at the weak excuse and continued to fish for the nights dinner that would surely end in a fight. ~~~~~~~~~ Ah~ It's a bit choppy in some places but hopefully should make a good base for the next update! I will try and update more often, hopefully!
