    Episode 8:

    ~Błåçk Møøñ, Rįšįñg Šhådøw~

The amber light of the sky became a backdrop, the abandoned soccer oval the stage for a new extracurricular activity that just started thirty minutes ago. A small girl on the left, our confident and annoyed Controller is standing on the right; her Voodoo Doll was lying on the ground. Almost to the point of taking a nap, her long pale arms where supporting her head as she let a yawn escape her mouth.

“So, if I get what you’re saying is that this girl frightened you so much that it made you mad. So the only way to sort it out is scaring the older girl into coming to the soccer oval, which we had to kick the soccer team out from. Not even knowing if she is a Controller, all because she said the animal noise meow.” Lucy lazily relayed the story to Mima, hoping that she now understands how crazy the reasoning is.

“That’s about it. That and I promised you a fight right? I never back down on a promise to you.” Mima spoke like she was the main hero in a popular anime show.

Lucy shrugged her shoulders and stood up. “Yay for fight,” she gleefully announced.

“Wa… Wait a minute.” The older girl on the left quietly voiced. Mima and Lucy slowly began to look up, slightly wondering if the girl had indeed spoken or if they just heard something.

Alcana awkwardly shifted her weight from foot to foot, her dark blue eyes darting to and from. “Are you being so ridiculous as to spill your secret? Aren’t you afraid of the judgment you would get?” She asked concernedly.

A smile appeared across Mima’s face while Lucy’s red eyes looked a bit more serious. “How do you know about that when you’re not even a Controller then?” She sarcastically asked.

The long, silver haired girl blushed the slightest shade of baby pink, her hands started to tremble. “Alright I am one, but I don’t want to fight. I only-“

“Well summon your Voodoo Doll; I want to have a fight today. I just hope you put up a good one because weaklings have no place here.” Mima chuckled coldly; Lucy looked up to her Controller with a demoniac smile.

“It’s for the best.” Lucy added her face almost haunting.

“Why? Can’t we live like this? Is the prize worth hurting all those innocent people?” Alcana gulped, chocking on her own words in fear of what was coming next. She gripped tightly on a silver butterfly bracelet not wanting to let go.

Lucy walked closer, her long, pink pigtails moving slightly with the momentum of her footsteps. The Voodoo Doll placed a hand on the older girls shoulder, purposely gripping it tightly.

Mumbles and grunts could be heard coming from Alcana, her will to not fight barely hanging on. “I don’t… I don’t want to ever be blackened!” She yelled as she crumbled to the pressure of Lucy’s grip.

The Voodoo stood there, laughing at the whole thing. “How are you going to accomplish that without fighting?”

The sun had set; the darkness of the night now consumed the battle field, the shadows had come out to play. Mima looked up towards the shining full moon; her eyes looked like they were deep in thought.

“Alcana we have met only just this morning. I am truly annoyed that I have to do this to you but I will not let my weakness affect Lucy’s and my goal.” Mima looked at Alcana with a death stare, the look of determination and thirst for blood. It reflected in Lucy’s as well.

The older girl was left on the grass, her eyes widen with shock and tears to represent how scared she was. “I’m… Sorry, Sorano.” Alcana took in a deep breath as she closed her eyes. “Take a deep breath to ease your mind, think first, and act later. Se permet de combattre. Please guide me, my Voodoo Doll Sorano.”

A light flashed out of the air above the girls, a figure started to shape. The Voodoo that was summoned was short but was fairly muscled built, his short, spiked and gelled hair only faintly moves in the wind. His forest lake blue eyes suddenly opened as he fell to Alcana’s side.

“Why are you crying Master?” He worriedly asked his Controller, he gently wiped away her tears with his long sleeved black jumper.

Lucy huffed, "we challenged you guys to a fight. If you guys refuse we will blacken you anyway. Hopefully though if your strong enough we might have some fun." She had her signature wicked smile on her pale face.

Sorano took the time to scan the Controller Mimas and Voodoo Doll Lucy's faces, slowly helping Alcana up he nodded and agreed to the challenge. "Your not actually-" Sorano cut off his Contoller.

"Master I apologize but, these people are horrid and blood thirsty. They will stop at nothing to be greedy. They do not share the same idle as us. Let me fight," he strongly grabbed the girls hand. "Beside you." The Voodoo Doll forced his Controllers body closer into a hug, lightly kissing her silky, white as snow hair.

"Hai..." She spoke the modern term being used by the kids these days as to mean yes in Japanese. Her voice was shaking as well as the rest of the body, she lifted her hand to her side, as she let out a cat-like grunt.

In unison the orange as the suns hair Voodoo did the same but in replacement of air came a sickle and chain, it had an emblem of a purple butterfly on the front. He tossed one of the sickle to his right hand as conducted by Alcana.

"Finally." Mima and Lucy sighed in relief.

Mima's dark red eyes sprung open with a new lust for life."Lucy La'More, my Voodoo Doll hear me speak these words and strengthen our bond of friendship! Vengono Combattiamo Quindi!" She did her normal routine of placing her hand above her head, Lucy following now holding her dangerous black axe.

The soccer field now covered with full shadow, Lucy made the first move. Charging at the Doll Sorano, she swung the heavy axe. The forest lake eyed boy tried his hardest to doge, sweat droplets already appearing on his forehead, he huff every time she came at him. Unrelenting, it was the demon like Voodoo's way of fighting.

Lucy managed a foreseen hit on Sorano, chopping of a fine piece of his autumn leaf hair. "Hm. Don't fight much, how boring. You expect everyone to agree of just letting things be? Who fool yourself with silly idles?" Lucy spoke with anger and superiority.

Countering back Aclana threw her arm diagonally across her body, the end result was Sorano slashing his sickle across Lucy's blue, medieval style dress. The cut wasn't deep though, only enough impact to cut the first layer of fabric leaving the second layer of the white material.

"My goal is to try and change that, it doesn't have to be. If we work together... Maybe we can change things for the better." His voice was now sounding desperate. Truly he was not used to fighting.

"Shut up!" Lucy yelled in frustration, the axe swiftly made impact with Sorano's skin, creating a more effective cut then he did on her dress. The wound flowed like a river of red. "You seriously think they would allow it! How stupid, I'm not letting you push your wussy ways on me. I fought hard to be were I am, same with Mima. The way of the Voodoo Doll will not change... We all have to accept it." Lucy screamed to let all her frustration out, pining Sorano to the ground.

"Fine, if that is the stubborn way you think. In the end you will only hurt yourselves." He sighed in regret, he pushed his head back along the ground to face the upside down Alcana. "Let's try our best, to not let this be our end."

The ocean blue eyes of Alcana uncontrollably became a waterfall, "no we can't let it end." She demanded, though she was dying slowly inside, her spirit fading at the uneven battle.

Sorano used his best asset he had and kicked Lucy's stomach, sending her flying into the air. Her light red eyes now highlighted and shining with the moon behind her. The carrot head boy jumped up to meet her and knocked the Voodoo to the ground.

The night became silent, until there was a haunting chuckle that could be heared from the dirt surrounding the face palmed Lucy. "Lucky shot. For your skill level that is."

The pink haired Doll resiliently recovered and return the blow, sending Sorano into the ground with a loud thud. Alcana's shaking became worse, her heart couldn't take it anymore. She ran to the fight scene, her body collapsing next to Sorano.

"Brother!" She shrilled in horror, her voice was like a stabbing knife in the ear drum.

    "Brother huh?" Mima curiously mumbled.

Sorano barely got up again, he had been extremely hurt, bruises up and down his body. Red wine blood staining his black clothing. He shakily inched his way closer to Alcana, his soft heads ever-so-softly gripping a small strain of her hair.

"Don't worry I can't die and neither can your older brother. That is, if you don't want us too." It was like his last words being said like he was a sick loved one dying.

Alcana burrowed her head into his supporting shoulder, tears still flowing down, like a waterfall and the rocks supporting the structure. "I'm scared to be blackened, but more so am I scared of losing you."

Lucy looked at their display of saddness, pondering if she should finnish the job or not. "Mima, your verdict?" She asked carelessly.

The cat-eared cap girl silently stood on that soccer oval for a long time, giving the two of them their last moments together. "No, they must be blackened, we must win Lucy. Peoples emotions only distract us from our goal." Mima did a sign of the Romans and thumbed down.

"As you smartly wish Lady Mima." Lucy took her last look at both of them, they were unexpectedly happy in each others arms, maybe they wanted to spend their last moments together remembering all the good. Mima raised her hand as did Lucy.

The dark blue haired girl moved her hand across her neck, she was secretly wondering what Alcana would look like after she was blackened. Would she follow the path of others or worse? The black axe chopped the head off of the Voodoo Sorano, his body disappearing into light but only to reappear again someplace more horrid. A place Lucy never wanted to go.

The Voodoo Lucy left the soccer oval, leaving Mima to try and console a school mate she had just met. She walked slowly over to Alcana, with each step a reminder to never ever lose.

"Hey." She quietly whispered. Alcana turned to her, her once ocean blue eyes filled with darkness and anger.

"Leave, your disgusting." Mima excepted such a response and left, a small tear falling from her eye.
